Gatherer

Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.

INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.

USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.

Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
/gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
/gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
/gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
/gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")
/gather options - show the configuration dialog

Torin,

Sorry for the delay, time has been short as of late.

Do you use the Blizzard quest tracker? If so, can you try disabling that and see if there is a difference? A few folks have noted this behavior, but not all, so anything further would be of help to determine what is happening.

If that does not work, can you try enabling/disabling the setting within Gatherer's options, to see if there is something odd happening where the selected option is not sticking between sessions, and let us know.

I disabled HandyNotes and enabled MapNotes to try to fix this. I also disabled all addons except for the four that you mentioned and the tooltip on the world map still didn't work.

Just a note that everything else works from making new nodes to receiving comments from guildmates to tooltips on the minimap. The only thing that doesn't work is the tooltip telling me what a node is on the world map.
I'm not using any map addons other than TomTom.

Oh, I know that it's running. It works great except that when I bring up the world map, I don't get a tooltip that tells me what my cursor is hovering over. Tried installing mapnotes to get it to work, that didn't help either.

To verify that Gatherer is functioning, simply disable all other AddOns besides Gatherer, GathererHUD, Swatter, and SlideBar.

Gatherer works fine in 3.3.3 as long as you have the "Load Out of Date" check box selected from the main WoW AddOns Control Panel. It *should* work with HandyNotes, but you will need to try with/without in order to be certain.

If not, try re-downloading and reinstalling. Gatherer works on all OSes in WoW 3.2, so long as you have the Load Out of Date checked, which is why we have not put out a new version simply for that.
