Plater Nameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.2.5.278
by: Tercioo [More]

Plater is a handsome and light addon for nameplates!

Plater and Details! are made by the same author!

Features:
- New nameplates for friendly characters.
- Unlock configs to modify the new personal health bar/power bar in the middle of the screen.
- Allows to change the size of the resource indicators such as the runes for Death Knights.
- Indicates when a npc is an objetive of a quest.
- Highlight detector npcs inside Suramar city.
- Color change by aggro and by player role (tank or dps).
- Dynamic sizing allowing to have two sets of size, one for combat and other out of combat.
- Allows full modification of textures.
- Allows to modify the clickable area of the plate.
- Unlock separate config for each type of unit: Friendly Player, Enemy Player, Friendly Npc, Enemy Npc.
- Show your buffs and debuffs, allowing to black list some of them.

Important: by default the health bar of enemy nameplates has a height 2 pixel when out of combat, but do not be fooled by that, each nameplate has by default 45 pixels of clickable area (vertical) and both the health bar and the clickable area can be modified.

On the main plater options window when you mouse over crowd control icon, the tooltip says "crown control". Think that should be crowd control?

Great Addon! Loving it and recommended it to the whole guild.
Spell Icon of uninterruptable Spells sometimes does not show:

A feature i would love: Special customizable plates for individual enemy NPC units: If enemy has a certain name use these special settings instead.

I feel that the personal health and mana display should be hidden by default and plates should have the same size out of combat. 90% of the people i talked to that use the addon wanted exactly this.

- I think this was fixed on the latest version, during combat the aggro color was replacing the gray color from tag.
Thank you for the reply. After testing I can re-confirm a few things:

- plate colors for neutral/tagged mobs work properly only when performing a dps role. When I respec to tank the aggro colors overlap everything else even out of combat - all plates are red/blue (depending on aggro) both in and out of combat for all types of mobs - neutral, enemy, tagged regardless of texture or other options chosen. Colors work perfectly fine for dps spec. Have not tested it as a healer.

- the buff/debuff list populates only with currently active buffs and debuffs so you have to open the plater options in midcombat in order to modify the debuff/buff ignore list etc.

Just noticed that vignette mobs in the underbelly (Mana Seeper for example) do not show their nameplate at all. Not sure if it is a blizzard bug or something plater can work around.
I'm waiting to make more changes on the player bar because each build blizzard do some improvements on it. I'm aware about the size issue, mana/power bar many times show wrong amounts and the bar mostly of the times keep changing position.

At the time when I was answering this comment, the Beta server was with 'world server offline', so I couldn't test the underbelly issue, I'll try see this at the weekend.

- is there a way to hide the debuffs on the plates? When tanking multiple mobs it will reduce the visual clutter and make cast bars on non targets easier to spot and react to.

- is it possible to add the proper color for neutral mobs? its not great to have to manually target the mob to know its not actually hostile.

- same as above for already tagged mobs - the plates wont change color to grey so you have to click/tab on the mob to know it has been tagged by opposite faction.

- this is a feature request - would you consider an extra method to identify the current target besides lowering the alpha on nontarget plates. An example would be to show the plate border only for your current target plate or something of the sort. When tanking this is extremely useful combined with the alpha change.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Update: changing the bar textures from platertexture to solid fixed colors for neutral and tagged enemies.

- Yes, this is on our track since the begging, but always postpone because isn't a priority.

I'll, I just need some free time to reorganize the options panel.

Outside of that is there also a way to control the draw distance of when you have only names for friendly NPCs so they are not drawing every npc nearby even those behind walls? I like showing all but would love to be able to only show those close to me within x number of yards and not those behind buildings or walls (understanding that there may be no control over drawing names behind walls)
The orange profession name should be under the health bar, that's a bug or a consequence of a customization which isn't being handle correctly by the addon.

The draw distance affects all nameplates though, you may use this to change the distance:
/run Plater.db.profile.culling_distance = 60;
/reload

Keep up the great work.

When will we be able to scale the size of certain buffs and debuffs and toggle nameplates off when our friendlys are not damaged ?

Thanks!

Yes I figured it out the class colors means if you want everyone to have them. I didn't know you should not select it and it would make it only on enemies Thanks!
