Plater Nameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.2.5.278
by: Tercioo [More]

Plater is a handsome and light addon for nameplates!

Plater and Details! are made by the same author!

Features:
- New nameplates for friendly characters.
- Unlock configs to modify the new personal health bar/power bar in the middle of the screen.
- Allows to change the size of the resource indicators such as the runes for Death Knights.
- Indicates when a npc is an objetive of a quest.
- Highlight detector npcs inside Suramar city.
- Color change by aggro and by player role (tank or dps).
- Dynamic sizing allowing to have two sets of size, one for combat and other out of combat.
- Allows full modification of textures.
- Allows to modify the clickable area of the plate.
- Unlock separate config for each type of unit: Friendly Player, Enemy Player, Friendly Npc, Enemy Npc.
- Show your buffs and debuffs, allowing to black list some of them.

Important: by default the health bar of enemy nameplates has a height 2 pixel when out of combat, but do not be fooled by that, each nameplate has by default 45 pixels of clickable area (vertical) and both the health bar and the clickable area can be modified.

Unable to filter out player's bodyguard debuffs on target.

I'm running with bodyguard in Broken isles. Unfortunately the way filtering works in Plater makes it impossible to filter his spells/debuffs out from showing since they need to be casted by player to add them to ignore list.

How can I stop my bodyguard's debuffs from showing up on my targets?

These are the traditional icons used for classes in almost every discussion. There should be no debate.

Player Nameplate/Resource Buff Offset?

Hi Tercioo,

I noticed that while there are offset options for buffs/debuffs for friendly/enemy players and npcs, there doesn't seem to be a similar option for the player's personal nameplate/resource for buffs.

Is it possible to add such an option?

I don't mind editing lua if I have to. Just please indicate the line I have to edit.

Thanks!

There is only one class icon. I don't understand what you are referring to.

Also I am colorblind. How hard would it be to add it in myself?

Ok, once I wrapped my head around the settings, it started to make more sense, and is looking promising. Thank you for the continuous work on this!

Some feedback (and I apologize if this stuff already exists, I just can't find it):

I'd really, really like to be able to see both % and actual health (preferably shortened), as it is way more convenient than having to look at target unit frames to see if I want to attack something.

Something like this would be great (health, health-%, level):

I'm also looking to be able to change the color of the level-text, as it's actually really hard to see in the default and only grey (to see this, see below):

Finally, it would be nice to be able to select whether or not to show buffs/debuffs, as well as a blacklist and whitelist (blacklist = everything but what's on the list showing, whitelist = nothing but what's on the list showing).

Already have, /plater > config debuff > Crowd Control Icon
but it's showing a trap icon instead of the spell icon, this will be changed in the future.

In on our wishlist to config individually for friendly and enemy.

Was a debate on what icon to use, we added the faction as the bar has the class color, this may have to be reviewed once we get more options to class colors.

- I changed quite a bit on the "Enemy Npc" tab, including fonts etc., and would now have to do the same for all the other tabs (or atleast the Enemy Players). Would be nice to have a "Copy setting from [other tab]" option.
- I'm missing a target indicator. On my old nameplate addon, I was able to choose between different markers (eg arrows at the side of the plate) to show me what mob I have currently targeted.
- I like the way ignoring debuffs works, but it took me a minute to figure it out. When I'm on a training dummy it's fine, but I imagine realising during a boss encounter that I want to ignore a certain debuff, I don't see how that would be possible between pulls. Maybe add the option to simply type in the name of a debuff?
- I couldn't find an option to change the color of the Level Text. I display it inside of the plate, which sometimes makes it a little hard to read, even at 100% alpha. Enabling the shadow helps, might also just be because I'm colorblind, just an idea.
- The scaling thing at the top right blocking the "x" is a bit annoying, has been mentioned earlier.

I really like this addon so far and will probably continue using it, don't take this as a "all these things are awful", just a few things that would make it even better in my eyes.
- 'always show percent text' added to our wishlist.
- 'copy settings' is a major issue specially if the player wants to change the font on all texts, this is something which we need to address.
- we have a glow effect to indicate the target, I think we can add an option to change the texture? I need to see that.
- there is some debate on how debuffs should work on Plater and indeed I would like to see more handy stuff.
- 'color to level text' added to wishlist.
- the scale slider, i see now. i'll address that. you may right click to close the window though.

I'm implementing buffs on Plater's twin brother Enemy Grid.
So far we've got an internal list of buffs to track, I think size customization won't be possible, but a yellow border indicating the buff can be shown.
When it's done there, we can implement on Plater.

Any chance you can share your setup? I'm finding the settings configuration to be quite daunting, and I am also lamenting the death of TPTP.

2. Your selection height is bugged. I do not want to click on the roof of a building and target a NPC. So I tried to shorten the default 45 to 10 and it still says 45, still targets someone when I click on the roof.

Other then that I really like the addon but when I zone in/out it turns the nameplates back off which is annoying. Not sure if that's the addon or WoW.
Update:

1. The blizzard names menu was bugged. I jiggled the handle and all friendly NPC names went away.

2. Reloading the UI fixed the selection toggle. It's now properly showing width 50 and height 1.
