oUF Abu  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0-3
by: sticklord [More]

Requires oUF 8.0.2

My personal Unitframe layout, based (heavily) on oUF_Neav. No plugin is supported as for now, except those that does not require support from the layout. Feel free to ask if you'd like one supported. Basic units including boss and arena frames are supported, but not raid frames. I've grown found of the blizzard ones, when they work that is.

Features

  • Aura Filter
  • Flashy castbar with channeling ticks
  • Threat glow
  • Portrait Timers
  • Absorb bar (0 - 100% of HP)
  • Set/Clear focus hotkey
  • Coloring of frames
  • Weakened Soul bar
  • Warrior Enrage bar
  • Vengance bar for tanks
Configuration
  • Use "/ouf" or "/oufabu" to access the ingame configuration.
  • Party, Arena & boss frame can be moved by using "/oufabu lock".
  • Player, Target & Focus can be moved by using the right click menu.
There are also 3 different aura filter, you can click on auras with CTRL+ALT
down or use the spell ID in the option panel to edit them.
  • Boss Frames: A whitelist were you can add debuffs to show, for example your own dots.
  • Arena Frames: A whitelist for buffs, some are included.
  • Rest: For the rest of the frames it works like this: On npc's the default is to only show your auras,
on players everything it shown. Some are included here aswell, you can find them in the file "oUF_Abu/Aurafilter.lua"
Notes
  • I've tested it for a while now so shouldn't be any big bugs, but probably a taint every now and then, can't get away from them.
  • If you wanna report a bug, thanks, I would prefer if you could do it here however.
  • You can also find it on github
Supported Locales
  • Chinese Simplified, thanks to yaoenqi
  • Chinese Traditional, thanks to yaoenqi again
  • German, thanks to bullsei
Big thanks to
Neal & Renstrom for oUF_Neav, Phanx for her layout, P3lim, Haste, Tuller & Jaliborc.

Nope, no way to show a shield. But you can hide the auras by setting the position to "Disable".

Non-interruptable castbars should have a golden border and bar. Im grabbing info from blizzard api so im not sure it works if your class cant interrupt though.

Hello Daglimioux. Glad you like this addon! I appreciate your suggestions, I'll walk you through what i think:

1.1 You can hide this by changing one of the colors in the options. Forgot what I called it
1.2 Yeah I've thought about this aswell, just never gotten around to do it. I will probably do a quick update to it and include this.

2.1 No, that aint possible at the moment. I really don't wanna spend much time on this addon now, so probably not gonna happen anytime soon.
I'll just combine the rest; I'll look into the disabling of "of Target" frames, should be quite simple. Problem is that the buffs will look out of place. Maybe I could do some automatic checking that resize the buffs depending if the target of target frame i show, but I really don't wanna add the resize all buffs options. But nevertheless I'll look into making the focus cast bar easier to move, and also disable the focus target frame. I got limited time right now, but should manage to do this at least.

Improvement suggestions

Hi there!

I was trying to find a lightweight layout for my WoW frames, with profiles and most customizable, and I found you! I really like your addon and I would like to post some suggestions to discuss and let's see if we can see them in an early future :P

1 - Castbars:
1.1 - It would be awesome that we could disable the castbar delay. In my case, I don't really like it.
1.2 - Define text width depending on your castbar width. I mean that when I cast something that has a really long name (e.g. Secrets of Draenor Blacksmithing), the name fills 90% of the bar and I can't see the cast timer. I suggest something, by default, that checks "bar's width - castbar timer's width" and changes the text for something like "Secrets of the Draenor Blac..." to fill properly on the castbar.
2 - Frames:
2.1 - Change level font text and size (?) (IDK if it is already posible, but I didn't found it)
2.2 - Allow to move Target of target frame and don't get it docked into the Target frame.
2.3 - Allow to see, when you have toggled anchors, how much space is ocuppied by buff and debuff frames with a buff example repeated all along "buff and debuff frame" (e.g. 24 rejuvenation icons) and add some customization (e.g. number of columns and amount of buffs/debuffs shown, show only your buffs/debuffs...).
2.4 - Allow to disable Focus target frame, allow to move focus target frame (if activated) so didn't get docked into the focus frame and allow to change his castbar position so didn't get docked into the focus frame.
Probably I miss something... but those are points that are important for customization in my opinion.

Thanks for your time reading this and I will wait your answer Thanks again for your addon!

Regards,
DaGLiMiOuX.

2. Target displaying my applied debuffs only (think it does this default but incase my #1 point screws with that)
3. You said you wont add bigger debuffs, any way to do this in lua myself? I assume there is.
4. Any way to extract / re-use thisborder style in other addons? Want to skin some timers (BigWigs, Exorsus) to match the UI.

Any direct solutions to the above or someone pointing me in the right direction/files/lines would be much appriciated Love the work put into this.
1: Easiest way would be to blacklist the spells that you want to hide in the ingame options. You can also manually change the filter in the layout.lua file for the unit you want by using blizzards flag:

line 817 in layout.lua
Lua Code:
  1. if (self.Debuffs and (self.IsTargetFrame or cUnit == 'focus') then
  2.     self.Debuffs.CustomFilter = function(self, unit, iconFrame, name, rank, icon, count, debuffType, duration, expirationTime, caster, canStealOrPurge, shouldConsolidate, spellId, canApplyAura, isBossDebuff, isCastByPlayer, ...)
  3.         return isBossDebuff
  4.     end
  5. end

2: Should be good.
3: Yep, but I'm using oUF to place the icons, lotta work.
4: No you cant access that function without editing this addon, need to make ns.CreateBorder global. ( You can for example add oUFAbu.CreateBorder = ns.CreateBorder at the bottom of the FrameFunctions.lua file) Then you can use oUFAbu.CreateBorder(self, size, padding, layer).

Good luck on your journey.

1. dont know what you mean with boss related debuffs, but you can fiddle around in the auras section at the ingame options
3. did that too: try movenanything, i use it together with Abu all the time
4. you can change the textures of hp and power bars via the ingame option, and some are shared in other addons as well, like "minimalist", "gloss", "graphite" etc. OR you could copy stuff from the media folder of the addon

im not the author but maybe u can try

Sorry for not answering, been busy lately.

@EKE: No, damagefont aint in use. damagefontsize is though, not sure why;p

@adawong: Thanks for answering questions for me And yeah, a lua noob like you can add debuffs to bossframes! In the ingame options window go to the aura config and under boss add the buff you'd like to show. And yeah i've fucked up with the portrait icons with a typo, I'll fix it tommorrow.

@jmt0101: You can move the anchors for buffs for the target and focus frame in the unit options. And not not gonna add bigger debuffs anytime soon:/ It's a lot of work.

@ignaciomc: No to question 1 and 2. For 3, yeah but may be complicated. Go into the AuraList.lua file and add the spells to the correct category. But feel free to post them here, and I'll add them myself. If you feel some a missing maybe others think so too!

@Hoorai: Yeah, you can disable all castbars in the first page in the options page. Just relog and the default should be back. Not sure if you'll have a target castbar though.

yes, disable them for each unit (player, target, etc.) in the options menu
not really sure about the player one, but you also can hide stuff like that with "moveanything" addon.

Didnt know there was a bug, but i cant see the icon textures with the aura timers, only the digits of the timer without the picture

for example: i silence something, no silence icon shown over the portrait, only the timer

posting this again for visibility, thanks sticklord for writing complicated stuff i have no idea of
