opUI (1920x1080)

Version: v3
by: Wimpface [More]

Outdated & abandoned for the foreseeable future.

Introduction
This is my remake of Caithlyn's old UI from 2.4.3. It's not a complete, 100% remake, but it's fairly close. I've changed a few things out of personal preference and necessity, but the overall layout and feel is very close to the original.

It's currently only set up for the following classes:
Shaman
Elemental*
Restoration*

Warlock
Affliction
Destruction
Demonology

Paladin
Protection*
Warrior
Arms*
Fury*

Priest
Shadow*
Druid
Balance
Restoration*
Feral*

Rogue
Combat*
Death Knight
Unholy*
Mage
Arcane*
Frost
Fire*

* = Untested in the latest version.

If your class and spec isn't listed, you can still use it. It just means you'll have to set up your own WeakAuras and some class-specific elements like EclipseBars won't be set up for you.

Installation
1. Extract the .zip into your WoW directory using your favorite software. I recommend 7zip or WinRar if you're unsure.

2. In the WTF folder, rename ACCOUNTNAME to your accountname, SERVERNAME to your server and CHARACTERNAME to your character. Copy CHARACTERNAME for each individual character you wish to install the UI for.

3. Ingame, you'll have to set up the following AddOns.
Raven (/raven)
Set profile "opUI" in the options.
Go to the "Setup" tab, then make sure "Target" is checked.
Note: Do NOT click Create As Bars or Create As Icons. This will wipe out Raven's settings.
Raven will be disabled if you are a Healer or a Warlock.

AffDots (/affdots)
If you're a Warlock, set profile "default" in the options. Otherwise, reload UI and the addon will disable automatically.

xCT+ (/xct)
Set profile "opUI" in the options.
Navigate into the "xCT+ Frames" tab, and scroll down until you see Global Frame Settings.
In the font menu, choose Accidental Presidency and then click "Set All".
In the font outline menu, choose OUTLINE and then click "Set All".

kuiNameplates (/kuinameplates)
Set profile "opUI" in the options and then type "/reload".

BigWigs (/bw)
Set profile "opUI" in the options.

SorhaQuestLog (/sql)
Set profile "opUI" in the options.

SLDataText (/sldt global)
Set profile "opUI" in the options.

WeakAuras (/wa)
You might have to add trinket trackers. You can copy any of my existing auras for a base if you'd like.

oPie (/opie)
Very much optional, set profile "opUI" in the options if you want it. Mostly for group leaders, can disable if you don't like the functionality.

4. (Optional) I've added Grid settings as of v2. If you are a healer, simply set profile "opUI" in Grid's options. Grid will be disabled if you are a DPS or a Tank.

Notes
You shouldn't update AddOns on your own unless you know what you're doing. Many of them are modified by me in some way or another.
Because many AddOns in here are modified, you should not do bug reports on their pages. Post reports in the comment section here.

Feature requests are welcome, but I made the UI for me. Don't expect to have your features included.

There are some leftover SavedVariables in here because I'm lazy. Just reset an AddOn if you run into one of these.

How to use Kaitain's custom talent frame
1) Go into the Esc menu and then Key Bindings > Toggle Talent Pane - Unbind this
2) Make a macro like this:
Code:
/click TalentMicroButton
/run PlayerTalentFrame:SetPoint("TOPLEFT",635, -395)
/run WeakAuras.ScanEvents("EVN_O")
3) Drag this macro to a Dominos bar, you can hide this bar if you want to. I use the hidden one in the bottom right.
4) Use /kb to activate Dominos' keybinding mode and bind the macro button to be whatever key you used to open the talent frame (the default key is N).
5) You may have to change the numbers 635, -395 to make the talent panel in the middle. it depends how big your screen is.

v3
Do a clean install. You can keep your bindings and macros files.
----------------------------
  • Updated for 6.0.
  • Replaced nivBuffs with Raven.
  • Removed a bunch of now obsolete AddOns such as AffDots and BossesKilled.
  • Removed non-mandatory AddOns that weren't working properly. Unsure if I got them all.
  • Small optimizations and fixes.
  • Probably forgot a lot of smaller changes.

v2.4
Delete Fonts and AddOns folders before installing. WTF folders should be okay if you just overwrite everything.
If you want to be extra thorough, delete every folder in the WTF folder that I provide. You can keep your bindings and macros files.
----------------------------
  • Replaced AFKSpinner with a modified AFKCamera.
  • Added Mage WeakAuras thanks to Kaitain. Not finished with these.
  • Added Kaitain's custom talent frame WeakAura, see description on how to use!
  • Followed Rokaru's suggestion and moved the Vehicle Seating frame. Placeholder position.
  • Updated and fixed a couple of smaller AddOns.
  • Defaulted the Aurora skinning temporarily, I'll try to dig into custom styles now that the new version is out.
  • Made the UI slightly more friendly for Discipline Priests.
  • Changed the way panels are created, they now fade out properly. This might give unwanted behavior when it comes to non-native resolutions.
  • Probably forgot a lot of smaller changes, as I didn't keep a proper changelog this version.

v2.3
I've ran out of things to do ingame and will return for WoD. I can make critical updates still, but development is stopped temporarily.
----------------------------
  • Fixed bBag, "mac options" no longer shows in the Game Menu.
  • Added AFKSpinner
  • Fixed the squares to the right of the chat frame. They now only show themselves to me, like intended.
  • Added Donation option for those that have asked.

v2.2
Delete Fonts and Interface folders before installing. WTF folders should be okay if you just overwrite everything.
If you want to be extra thorough, delete every folder in the WTF folder that I provide. You can keep your bindings and macros files.
----------------------------
  • Added info bar
  • Added SLDT
  • Added oPie
  • Re-added EasyMail
  • Removed Chatter
  • Chat settings are now in !opSettings\chat.lua
  • Removed Combuctor
  • Added bBag
Known bug: Adds a "mac options" button on top of the "interface" button in the game menu. Clicking the button still brings up the interface panel.
  • Added nibRunes
  • Added KeepingTabs
  • Added XRealIDColors
  • Updated BigWigs
  • Completely scrapped the entire idea of uniform WeakAuras because it's good in theory but bad in practice. Not every class needs to see crit banners for example.
Now follow the logic of only showing things if it will make you change up your rotation or playstyle.
  • Added Combat Rogue weakauras
  • Added Balance Druid weakauras
  • Removed Questomatic

v2.1a
----------------------------
  • Added RealmRemover

v2.1
----------------------------
  • Updated for 5.4.2, most bugs should be squashed
  • Removed ForteXorcist
  • Added Raven
  • Changed statusbar texture from HalM to Tap2
  • Changed castbar color
  • Changed from Clean Icons - Thin to Clean Icons - Cold
  • Added ActionBarSaver
  • Added Aurora_RaidManager
  • Added bosseskilled
  • Added Butsu
  • Updated Aurora
  • Updated Chatter
Note: Still no functional Channel replacements, what's up with this? Might just make a separate AddOn for it in a later version
  • Removed EasyMail until it's fixed
  • Added HatTrick
  • Added Invocation
Note: This is an old WotLK AddOn by p3lim, I've only updated it for MoP.
  • Added Masque_CleanIcons
    Note: Unused
  • Added Molinari
  • Added OneClickEnchantScroll
  • Updated ClassColors
  • Added a ton of stuff to SharedMedia
  • Added xCT+
  • Removed EavesDrop
  • Added TimelessAnswers
  • WeakAuras center block changed a lot to provide a more intuitive system
Note: Some things may not work properly, I'm unsure if Protection Paladin auras will work good with this at all. Elemental Shaman and Warlock WAs should be fine.
  • Modified Skada, don't update manually and bug reports go in the comments for opUI, don't overload the author with bug reports from an unofficial version
  • I've probably missed something, the update has been in the works for too long due to laziness
  • Added Shadow Orb display to WeakAuras
  • Added automatic layout toggling when changing specs
For example, if you go to a healing spec it will disable Raven and enable Grid and vice versa for the other roles. Still quirky, though. You need to /reload after changing specs to have it work correctly. Probably won't change this much further.

v2.0.3a
----------------------------
  • Removed Myriad Pro

v2.0.3
----------------------------
  • Updated Aurora
  • Updated CleanIcons - Thin
  • Added another WeakAura for the farm
  • Updated KuiNameplates
  • Added WeakAura for weapon enchant procs
  • Updated Dominos
  • Changed BigWigs style

v2.0.2
----------------------------
  • Fixed Sweeping Strikes WeakAura
  • Disable ForteXorcist if Grid is loaded, and enable if not
  • Changed Earthliving reminder icon

v2.0.1
----------------------------
  • Fixed Taste for Blood WeakAura not showing on 1 stack
  • Disable StufRaid if Grid is loaded, and enable if not

v2
----------------------------
  • Boss frames resized and repositioned
  • Racial WeakAuras fixed, but only loads on specific player name.
  • Fixed Time Warp and Ancient Hysteria not showing up in WA
  • Disable iLvLr if oqueue is enabled
  • Tidied up BigWigs' Proximity Display
  • Fixed Havoc WeakAura
  • Removed nibWatchFrame
  • Added SorhaQuestLog
  • Updated AchieveIt
  • Added Potion tracker via WeakAuras
  • Updated Dominos
  • Updated BigWigs
  • Changed Shaman class color slightly, it's now bluer
  • Added BiggerTradeskillUI
  • Added GnomishVendorShrinker
  • Added WeakAuras for the farm (experimental, let me know how you feel about them) with a more light-hearted tone
  • Added WeakAura for Synapse Springs (engineer hand enchant), just remove if you don't have Engineering
  • Changed many WeakAuras to fade in, looks a lot smoother but I'm worried about performance. Experimental.
  • Changed a lot of fonts
  • Disabled AltPower module of BigWigs (who uses this anyway?)
  • Fixed left chat border, it was 1px too wide on the right side (previously left side, now neither!)
  • Added optional Grid for healers
  • Removed AffDots from download
  • Added WeakAuras for DPS Warriors
  • Added WeakAuras for Restoration Shamans

v1.2
----------------------------
  • Added a bunch of WeakAuras
You'll have to update the trinket auras yourself by changing the "Trigger -> Aura Name" option aswell as the "Load -> Player Name" option of the "op Trinket 1" and "op Trinket 2" auras.
You will have to do this every time you update the UI.
  • Added CoolLine
  • Added DoomCooldownPulse
  • Added BagSync
  • Added KongUIFader
  • Added iLvLr
  • Added ReforgeLite
  • Changed ForteXorcist
  • Dominos and Kong profiles will load automatically on login

v1.1
----------------------------
  • Fixed some WTF settings wiping user settings, my bad!
  • Added waDing

v1
----------------------------
  • Release
Optional Files (0)

That's odd, it's as if you didn't overwrite chat-cache.txt in the WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SERVERNAME\CHARACTERNAME folder.

Also, make sure in your Config.wtf that you've got SET synchronizeSettings "0" in there somewhere. Should be noted that if you've previously been syncing settings and you then set it to not sync settings, your keybindings etc will be wiped.

These are the only things I can think of that would cause the chat frame to be moved out of position.

Re: Veteran player feeling new again

Sorry for the very, very late reply. In the off-chance that you are still using the UI and having issues, or if someone else runs into the same problems, I'll leave a reply anyway.

1. If you mean the white mana bar in the middle of the screen, that's a WeakAura. /wa and then find "Priest Power" or "Priest Mana" (I can't remember what I named it!) and then disable it, that should do the trick.
If it's the stray action bar you mean, I use Dominos. You can disable it by typing /dom config and then hovering over it and clicking the scroll wheel of your mouse.

2. Nope. :/ It is one of those things that are pretty damn fixed in this UI. Pretty much any major element is, for the sake of symmetry and organisation.

3. Disabling Aurora should do the trick, although I can't remember if I tied Aurora to other addons or not. It's worth a try, you can always enable it again if you don't get your desired result.

Also a friendly reminder that I will be back for WoD, those plans haven't changed. My pre-order still stands!

v2.3 Released

I've released version 2.3 today.

It's not a big update, in fact it's not looking likely that there will be any big updates until Warlords of Draenor at all. I've run out of things to do in the game and will take a temporary break until Warlords of Draenor is out, or atleast until 6.0.

I've mostly just made sure it's working correctly, but if it isn't just drop a bug report in the comments and I'll get to it. I'll monitor this page still, and I can and will make critical updates still if everything should break. The only thing that has changed is that there will be no new additions until WoD. Plans have been put on hold for now, so to speak.

Other new stuff... I've added a donation option for those that have asked. I've previously maintained that I couldn't accept donations for something that I didn't feel was finished. The reality is that this project will never be truly finished, and I feel it's at a sufficient level of quality that I can accept donations from people that choose to send them.

Lastly, I've added basic Feral Druid support as I've finally hit 85 on my Druid and decided to go Feral for MoP levling until my gametime runs out.

Until next time and thanks for your support, I'll keep checking this page and as always I'm available by PM here on WoWInterface.

Re: Raven disabled

I've already answered this as a reply to your PM, but I'll put it here aswell in case anyone else is wondering about the same thing.

Raven and Grid getting disabled doesn't mean they're outdated, or that the UI is. I disable and enable addons depending on your class and your spec. If you're a Warlock, you don't need Grid because StufRaid covers your raidframes and you don't need Raven because dot timers are handled by AffDots.
Another example would be if you're a Restoration Shaman, you'd have no need of dot timers so Raven is disabled. AffDots doesn't even work for you, so that gets disabled. StufRaid isn't optimal for healers, so that gets disabled and Grid gets enabled instead.

The UI is still functional, I am working on an update, but it won't fix anything major because nothing major is broken. The only two fixes that are in my private, pending version are these:
  • Fixed bBag, "mac options" no longer shows in the Game Menu.
  • Fixed the squares to the right of the chat frame. They now only show themselves to me, like intended.

Hope this answers a few of the common questions I've been receiving lately, and thanks for staying interested.

I really need to fix these damn squares, they're only meant to be visible to me but I screwed up the self statements. Will fix for next update hopefully, I'm just lazy.

The buttons are there for me to easily disable and enable addons that I don't need or want enabled constantly.

If you want to remove them now instead of waiting an undetermined time, go into !opEngine and open core.lua, go to line 56 and remove everything under "Buttons just for me" to "Layout changer".
So it'd be this you want to remove:
Lua Code:
  1. --[[
  2.     Buttons just for me
  3. --]]
  4. local oqCleaningFrame = CreateFrame('Frame')
  5. oqCleaningFrame:SetScript('OnEvent', function(self, event)
  6.     local name = GetUnitName('player')
  7.     local realm = GetRealmName()
  8.
  9.     if realm == 'Ravencrest' then
  10.         if name == 'Deim' then
  11.             self:Show()
  12.         elseif name == 'Naragaji' then
  13.             self:Show()
  14.         end
  15.     elseif realm == 'Twisting Nether' then
  16.         if name == 'Shirosai' then
  17.             self:Show()
  18.         elseif name == 'Bustamoo' then
  19.             self:Show()
  20.         else
  21.             self:Hide()
  22.         end
  23.     end
  24. end)
  25. oqCleaningFrame:SetSize(6, 6)
  26. oqCleaningFrame:SetBackdrop({

As for the panels, they're all in !opEngine\panels.lua except for the UnitFrame backgrounds that are accessed via kgPanels (/kgpanels config) so it might be hard to modify them without basic knowledge of lua.
If you're determined you need to change them, there's a lot of reading on frames here. Simply changing the panels isn't too complicated and I'm sure you can figure it out.

I've never seen that resolution before! Truly interesting. The problem is, if you don't run at my resolution, I can't really provide much support and you're left mostly to your own devices. It gets even harder when you're not on the same aspect ratio as me, as when you are you can just tinker with the UI scale and it'll eventually hit the sweet spot as it seems to have done for spiros83.

The chat boxes aren't locked by an addon, they're locked by Blizzard's default methods. Right click the chat tab (they're under the chat now! ) and click unlock, then move them. I'll have to warn you, they're an absolute nightmare. You can also exit the game and navigate your WTF folder until you find "chat-cache.txt", positions are found and can be editted in there, although I'm not sure what system they follow.

I'm very interested in how you had to move the chat panels. They anchor to the bottom left of your screen and then I move them 5 pixels inward on both sides, do you mean you had to resize them? If so, ignore the above text and just right click the chat tab and unlock, then drag in whatever corner works. I think it's the bottom right one... I should make it resizeable on all corners, that's on the to-do list now.

I don't mind the questions.

I'll do some more tinkering today and upload a picture if I still have config issues with anything.

One last question: What mod has the chat boxes locked? After I move the backdrops, the chat frames ned to be moved a bit farther outboard and I don't know how to unlock them to move them.

Should anyone be interested, for a 1600x900 resolution, a quick fix would be to go into your config.wtf file and set the ui scale to 0.71...

In order to do this, you first need to enter the game, do all the config that is required for the UI to be set up, then enter the system settings > advanced and check scale to be on. Log out and edit the config.wtf file as I wrote above.

The problem is that many addon fonts look smallish, so it's just a quick fix for people who can live with it.
