Lozareth's highly configurable Discord Unit Frames.
See the Change Log (tab above) for a list of all changes.
Updates.
10.2.1
27/10/2014. Rogues, Druids. Combo/Anticipation points and the WoD changes. DUF currenty/always has them "on the target" where available points dissapear out-of-combat and (in WoD) show up again when a new target is selected (as does the default WoD Blizzard frames). Since early Beta I've been testing a version with the points "on the player" ie. they act like a class bar, where available points can be displayed even without a target selected and also have an out-of-combat alpha option. Everything else is the same, with the exception of the actual settings moving from the target to the player class bar section of the options window. I'm thinking of implementing this "on-the-player" version and moving your current target combo/anticipation configuration to the player (no change of on screen position etc.) and setting the oocAlpha to zero (the points will "behave" as they currently do until you adjust the oocAlpha option if desired). Thoughts, concerns, better ideas? I have no implementation date in mind as yet, if at all. |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: CastBars Conflict
Hi there, I've just installed Castbars and using the default configuration, everything seems normal. I can't imiagine that DUF would interfere as it has it's own castbar frames unless CB has frames with the same name and given that every DUF frames starts with DUF_ that seems unlikely also.
Try moving your CB SavedVariables file(s) to another location (start from scratch) and see what happens then.

The price you pay for removing it .... kidding
Did you delete both Discordxxx folders? Once you completely exit the game and re-start the default frames should come back.

Do you have PTR and live versions of WoW installed? It sounds like you may have removed the folders from the version of the game you are not playing or possibly you have another unit frame addon installed as well.
Before starting the game, rename the [drive]\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\Interface folder to something else like InterfaceOld. This should leave you with no addons for the live version of WoW and the game will rebuild the default Blizzard addons when it starts. Start the launcher and make sure "Warlords of Draenor" is selected not "PTR Warlords of Draenor". If you don't have the PTR then there should only be the option to select your region. Start the game.

Bodyguards
Is it possible to have bodyguards added, they don't appear to fit in any of the current frames?

Re: Bodyguards
Hi Prindarla,
Body guards, as far as I can tell, aren't a unit type. I know some people have done some work to construct a psuedo bodyguard unit frame like this or this but I'm reluctan't to include it in DUF if they're going to be a WoD only thing. My guess if they do continue bodyguards into future expansions is that Blizzard would add them to the unit framework which would make everyone happy.

Re: Bodyguards
Thanks for looking into it, I much prefer to use DUF for unit frames. I believe Body Guards are classed as guardians which also don't have a frame anywhere from what I can see.

Re: Re: Bodyguards
No, there is no frame or any identifier in the Blizzard code that could equate to being used for one which is why the addons that are available are standalone (I don't think any other UF addon has included them as a core unit because Blizzard doesn't consider them a real unit).
They are either just a test or a one off solely inteded to be flavour rather than tracked or maybe they were intended to be a real unit but ended up as just one of the many features that got pared back this expansion.

Last version does not work with Clique
Last version (6.2.2) of DUF is not compatible with Clique for me. If I log in loading both addons I get a couple errors and the DUF frames do not show.
The errors are (from buggrabber): Code:

Either I am doing something wrong or there may be a bug.
I want to have the pet's target next to the pet frame, as well as party member targets by their frames. There are no units for setting those up so I decided to fake it and make them using what is available. For the pet unit frame: I put the target's health and mana bars, as well as TextBox7 next to the pet unit frame. I used $tl $tn in the text format area for TextBox7. All of this displays exactly what I expected it would. There is a Left-Click "Target Unit" option for all 3 of those elements. I was hoping I would be able to target the pet's target by clicking on those. But, no matter what I set the Left-Click option at it always targets the pet, never the pet's target. For party member unit frames: I did the same thing, but I have not had a chance to test those. What am I doing wrong? |

Hi DohNotAgain,
Thank you for the report. It looks like you're not doing anything wrong. It appears in the transition from vanilla to the secure framework of TBC (when the TargetAssist function and others like it were made protected) there was a shortcut taken for setting these bindings. ATM, just the units base frames are having the click targeting set and all in the same configuration (left-click target, right-click popup menu, middle-click assist). If you middle click (mouse wheel click) your pet or pets target health bar atc. you will target your pets target. I will take a look and see if this can be put back somehow into what I presume was the original options (each sub-frame of a unit could be configured individualy for each button as per the setup window) or at the very least be able to set which button does what action on the units base frame. Even if it's possible, it might take a bit of time to sort it all out and the changes applied to DUF for Wod and DUF for Legion . Thank you again.

DohNotAgain,
On further testing, it appears the secure environment won't allow changing of the function of leftclick or rightclick on a frame inheriting the SecureUnitButton template. They always left target, right togglemenu. This leaves mousebutton3, mousebutton4 and mousebutton5 which can be set for different mouseover click functions. At the moment you can middleclick to set you target as the mouseover units target. Edit: It appears Blizzard changed the options with WoD so that leftclick/rightclick are now fixed as target/popup menu I'll look at the possibility of removing them from the setup window in then Legion version and possibly replacing with setting actions for buttons 4 and 5 as well as middleclick. Not ideal but we have to work with the hand Blizzard deals us. Edit 2: It looks like this is something Blizzard might have done in error in 6.x as clicking is working as expected in Legion Beta so I won't be doing anything until we get some concrete evidence which way things are going. Edit3: I'm adding back (fingres crossed, before my time functionality) configurable clicktargeting for all unit elements for Legion in the hope it is the new norm.. if not, it wastes some cpu cycles only on loging in. Testing will continue.........
