NioUI

Version: 2.38
by: dickloraine [More]

Resolution: 1680x1050 (1920x1080)

This UI is made to fit to the beautiful MiirGui textures and trys to be very lightweight.

Here is a small video, that shows the UI in action.

nioUI replaces many of the default interface elements, like actionbars, map, minimap, questwatch, unitframes etc. It covers nearly anything I consider basic functions of an UI. There are two exceptions: First, you would want to install a Bossmod in addition to this UI. Second: If you are like me, you want to have some other Addon, that tracks and shows your cooldowns, debuffs, buffs etc. which are essential to your rotation somewhere in the middle of the screen. The thing with this is, that each class needs other things and each player prefers other ways of presenting this informations. Fortunatly there are many addons out there, which cover this needs. One you will find in the optional addons pack, that comes with this UI (weak auras).

Update
2.38
  • Updated oUF
  • Fixed special Debuffs recognition
  • Hide unitframes in pet battles
  • Hide panels in pet battles. This is an option and can be turned of. Changed nioUiConfig in line 370 for the option
  • Lootframes are now in a new position

Installation
  1. Backup your Addon and WTF Folder
  2. Optional but recommended: Download and install the MiirGui Texture-Pack and the MiirGui Icons (also available in grey: Grey Textures, Grey Icons).
  3. Copy the folders inside this zip to your Addon folder
  4. Optional: Copy any addons from the optional addon pack in your addon folder
  5. Enter wow
  6. Just click the "Okay" button.
  7. Done!

Configuration
If you want to use the grey theme, go into the ingame-options and check the button.
You can change many settings ingame in the blizzard options panel. To change things not covered there (or you want to repostion frames), look at "NioUi Config.lua" in the nioUI folder.
To change the indicators or the blacklist/whitelist, just modify "nioauras.lua" in the nioUI/Unitframes/oUF_NioDrk folder.
If you want to see other data brokers in the broker display, look into "Broker config.lua" in the nioUI folder.

Usage
Just some quick tips for the not so obvious little features:
  • You can right-click the Minimap for the Tracking-Menu. Middle-clickin opens the calender
  • You can make a mount macro: Just make a macro and enter "/niomount" in it. Drag it on an actionbar. Right-clicking it, will open a menu. You set your flying mount by clicking on the mount and your ground mount by shift-clicking.
  • You will find some tweaks in the ingame-options, like auto-selling grey items, auto-repair (with or without guildfunds), enter your TS/Ventrilo/Mumble Infos and post them vie the option in the raid-broker and some more little things.

Fine About the double lines: Are you sure, they are the same? There are two lines, but one is for who the unit is targeting and the other one shows by whom the unit is targeted.

Thanks a lot for your help. I have updated the UI to include your settings for 1920x1080 and hopefully fixed the bug, that resets some of the addons.
You can move the tooltip by using the slash command "/tip anchor". Why you get two identical lines I don't know, but it could be related to the reseting bug.
The Debuffbars should now look for a classbar and anchor to it.
Thanks again for your help and have fun

Just tried adding the "return" lines in the "Skins" folder's .lua files, but each one gave an error in game (says "unexpected symbol near if"). Thanks for all the help with trying to get this set up.

Thanks a lot, will look into it, when I have some time.
Regarding the issue that everything resets, that is my fault. I just have realized, that I do not wait for the local variables to be loaded, before making this changes. On my computer they are loaded, when it comes to the skinning part, but thats just random I guess. So on your machine the ui just reinstalls each time. I will solve this issue too, when I have time. You could open the files in the skin folder and add a line with just "return" before the line with "if nioUIInstall then return end". This will stop the reskinning, until I have fixed it.

Yeah, that would be quite nice
Okay... So I figured out what values that the frame around the action bar needs. And the values that're needed to move widen the chat frame. But for some reason, even after widening the Layout.panChat value, and the Layout.Chat value, the text in the chat window doesn't go any further over, any ideas on how to fix that? And, what I imagine is hopefully my final question, how would I move the Skada bars that show up in the frame? I figured out how to widen and move the frame, but the bars for dps and everything remain stationary.

Edit: Okay, that was dumb of me. I figured it out how to move around the Skada thing (didn't realize the window was locked). But, for some reason, everytime I reload the ui, the bars go back to the default position and size, and idea how to change this? Although, its not really necessary, neither is the chat frame thing.

Edit: Okay, this is what I got it to look like (for some reason, the text wont stretch all the way to the end of the chat window like it did your upload, but it doesn't look like it'll that big of an issue. I tried to get everything as symmetrical as I could. Only thing I'm wondering is if its possible to make it so that the bag addon will stop resetting every UI reload, that way certain currencies can be disabled, and will stay like that. Anyway, here's what it looks like (with ui scaling off): http://i.imgur.com/JdCDz.jpg

And here are the updated "NioUI Config.lua" and "lib.lua" (in the oUF_NioDrk folder):

http://www.mediafire.com/?arddo21rgajqmmz <-- "NioUI Config.lua"
http://www.mediafire.com/?e8wvox6dfhjjipq <-- "lib.ua" in the oUF_NioDrk folder

Putting those in should (hopefully) keep it normal for the 1680x1050 resolution, but make it look like my screen shot for 1920x1080. Hope that amidst all my inane questions, I was able to help some.

Only things I'm really all that interested in fixing are the bag addons showing of all currencies, and how the Objectives window automatically maximizes itself (both of these are done when logging in or reloading ui). Other than that, which is just nitpicking, great ui set up and addon pack. Thank you again for it.

Edit (yes another one): Updated the "NioUI Config.lua" file. The debuff bars were too far below the unit frame, so I fixed that. Quick question that I want to see if I can fix something with the new resolution files: Which file has the coordinates for the Tooltip (like when you have your cursor over a player)? At 1920x1080, its too far to the left so I was going to try to fix that. And, I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but on that tooltip, there's two lines as to who the person you have your cursor over is target, so it will say "Targeting: <<YOU>>" and "Target: <You>" right below that. Any idea on where I'd go to fix that?

Sorry for all the questions. This is my first time ever editing this stuff, so I don't want to end up doing something I can't fix lol. But, in the end, the files might also be able to help you since you won't have to edit them for the different resolution.

Hm, the screenshot with scaling looks a little to big. Try to use no scaling. Maybe my code for resolution detection is wrong. You could first try the following:
In "NioUI Config.lua" you will find a section called "Position and sizes" and there you will find a section beginning with "if Resolution == "1920x1080" then". Try to copy the values between the {} from there to the same variables under "Position and sizes" and then just delete the 1920x1080 section (from "if" to "end").
If this does not work, you have to do it manually. Just start wow and have the lua file open. Change the values und reload the ui, until it fits. One thing to remember: Since you have 240 pixel more, the chat frame and the skada frame need to have more width, or you could go for bigger gaps between UI-Elements.

I changed the position for the classbar some time ago. If you like it more on the bottom, this is possible, but again involves some textediting. Maybe you would like to use a texteditor like Notepad++. Open lib.lua in the oUF_NioDrk folder. Go to line 511 and delete the two "--". Add the same "--" at the beginning of the next line. Now open nio UI Config again. You want to change the position of the debuff bars a little to the bottom.

Hope, this helps

Well, I had tried to play in the resolution given, but things just looked too odd to me (buttons stretched out and everything). I'll put up 2 screens (one with the scaling, and one with it turned off), since I don't want to tweak too much in the text editor since I've never done any of that stuff, so I don't know what any of it will do, and don't want to cause any irreparable damage. lol

Scaling on:
http://i.imgur.com/qBzCr.jpg

Scaling off:
http://i.imgur.com/0AnHA.jpg

Now, just based off your screen shots, it looks like its too big and just scaling is off (probably due to the resolution). I'll try what you suggested and give an edit here if I find something that fixes the issue, assuming you haven't replied back before then. Thank you in advance for the help.

Edit: Now that I'm looking at it, I don't know if its too big compared to your screenshots, or if its just because of resolution difference... Which if that ends up being the case, sorry for being dumb.

Edit2: I was messing with the stuff, and I couldn't figure out how to get it to look like it scaled right (my knowledge is limited though, so I didn't want to try too much and mess everything up lol). But a random other question (sorry for having so many ), for some reason the runes on my DK show on top of the unit frame rather than on bottom... any idea on how to fix that?

However, for some reason, the ui seems to be a lot larger than it shows in your screen shots (I even have it scaled down to the lowest it will go, I am running at a 1980x1080 resolution). Unfortunately I can only play in 1680x1050. So I can't just test things for you. I have tested some settings for 1920x1080 some time ago, and it has not looked to big. Best would be, you just disable the UI-Scaling. If it still looks strange, try the macro you find in the miirGUI description. If it still needs tweeking, open nioconfig.lua with any texteditor. There you will find a section called "Position and sizes". There you can resize many things.

If nothing of this helps, a screenshot could be helpfull.

Glad you like it

Of course this is possible. The bar on the bottom is a Broker-Display. So you can add any Broker you like to it. If you right-click the bar, you are in its configuration, where you could enable and disable Plugins and alter the appereance.

You find many plugins here:
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/cat108.html

Just install them like any other addon. For your request, there seem to be many brokers. Take a look at these:

http://www.wowinterface.com/download...cker.html#info

Hope, this helps
