Fundamental UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: v1.0c Release
by: Shiny <3 [More]

Hello all!

And welcome to the Fundamental UI page, my name is Shiny <3 and I hope you enjoy my minor compilation.
As you can see it has been a while since I've uploaded a worthy compilation to this site, and this page in
particular so I hope you can let me off for that.

This UI was designed with the following in mind. Fundamental versatility and use, whilst being artisticly simple
yet elegant (or at least I like to think so). And workable with any play-style to a high level, whether that's DPS, Tanking, Healing, Raiding, PvPing, or casual levelling this UI should have it all! (:

As you can tell this UI is heavily inspired by Elv/Tuk UI (as aren't most these days) with my own Fundamental
flair thrown in to the mix, this is only a preliminary stage however, and the art style will no doubt change into something new further along down the line! Something a bit more me! (;

Anyway without further adue I will post an addon list & install instructions, and some contact details as well! ^^

Zip into your WoW directory

into that to change server name and then finally character name's into the folders created
if you have more than 5 characters that you play regularly (raid with) just copy and paste
one of the character files until you have the necessary amount.

To clarify and as an example your WTF folder should look like this.
Account > RIPFRIEDTOMATO > Burning Legion > Kiylre
except obviously with your account name, realm and character names.

4. Make sure enable out of date addons is loaded and login to the game.

5. In the addons list scroll down till you find RSA addons and enable the classes you use.

1. Once in game in the middle of your screen you should see a window for Gnosis (castbars)
please press the button that says Fundamental UI this will configure your cast bars.

1.1 Monk Edition - type /vexpower go to profiles (may require scroll down) and select Fundamental
UI for a better configuration of the Chi Power bar.

Additionally if you're levelling a monk from lvl1 - 12 I would advise you to disable the Pitbull PvP Icon module for the duration.
Simply go to type /pitbull go to modules and deselect PvPicon

2. Type /bt4 go to profiles and copy from Fwei - Burning Legion

3. Type /raven then go to profiles (top right) and copy from Fwei - Burning Legion

A 24" screen or 23.5" or 1920x1080 resolution (also known as a 1080p resolution) is now the industry average. In the UI world we call "showing absolutely nothing" SRE or Screen Real Estate, how much of the game world you can see, how much of the combat you can see.

The more you can see going on, the more efficient you can be in that scenario. Minimal UI's try to maximise SRE whilst utilising as little space possible to provide all the essential information.

The true brilliance of a good UI is to look good, provide the information you see, and not distract from the beauty and combat aspects of the game that you are playing. This way you can truly maximise your potential within whatever role you select as a player.

This should be possible (and a lot easier to do) once version 1.1 comes out, but that won't be until early/mid November at the earliest (busy schedule ^^)

Also, I was wondering if you could change the button skin on the famBags addon? I know that I couldn't figure out how, and those buttons just don't match with the rest of the UI, they look more like a Blizzard style than anything.

One more thing, I was wondering if you'd be skinning the minimap icons in the future? I noticed that it can be done through LUA, using similar code like Aurora Missing Textures mod, and Mirrgui. Aurora is better, but Mirrgui has a border style that seems to fit better with your UI. I notice that you basically are using the standard Aurora style, just changed the fade of color in the in game settings for it. Would you be reskinning that to match the UI better as a whole?
I did work on the unitframes a little early on, using kgpanels and anchoring to provide a more refined edge on them, but due to scale & pixel issues eventually went against using them as background panels and used the stock standard default background, it may be something I look into in the future.

This one's pretty simple, I tried FamBags originally with LifeStep (the main UI button texture) but felt it didn't really follow suit, so I believe went with Caith in the end, to do this simply go into /masque and select addons, and then select fambags and alter that one individually without changing the entirety of the UI, it's not inside Fambags config at all.

In regards to minimap icons I never have them nor use them, I like to remove all unnecessary information and the only one I do use is BugSack and that's only from a developmental view point, everything else should be automated, and if not then I usually know the /command for it anyway.

I'm the furthest thing from LUA savvy so skinning for me is out of the question, I won't be changing much in that respect, and I was unaware that Aurora had in game options, which is something I will look into now I am aware of this, for next release (hopefully before Friday).

Need to put this on the main page.

1. Delete config.WTF file (it's inside first WTF folder)
2. Set Resolution to 1920x1080 and UI scale to as small as possible.

Login and enjoy (:

It's a separate bar generated and created by the buff addon (which is in use within the entirety of the UI) called Raven.

You won't find a more customizable buff addon around, although it does take a while to get to grips with the options. In this specific UI it's under the bar group "Cool Downs"

/autorepair should give you a list (in the chat log) of commands which enable/disable autorepair to work in whichever particular format you'd like. I.e. repair from guild then your own cash, or repair from own cash then the guild, or repair from self only.

Thanks Shiny <3
No worries, I'm a sucker for download numbers, so I check about 5-6 times a day! ^^ And yeah, well I've been aware of it since TBC I think with the early versions of Bartender but it is a bit of a surprise to me, you don't really expect to need to look in there (:

Also just double checked for you and there is a section for Fambags at the very bottom of the Keybindings list (: although mine aren't apparently bound it's still opening up with B for me... hmm, interesting.

And no worries! ^^ Been playing WoW since 1.2 making UI's since early TBC so I understand completely (:

Either way thanks for the compliments, and I hope you enjoy the UI!

Regards,
Shiny <3
