ColdUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.3
by: Coldkil [More]

As everyone has realized now, i have stopped working on the UI basically because i have stopped playing WoW altogether.

I feel sorry to not have written here before, there is a lot of people that has shown a lot of support on my work and i didn't thank you enough for that.

I had a lot of fun playing with the UI and following your feedback to improve my work.

I hope that something in the future (maybe another game) will let me do another work similar to this, as it's been by far my best WoW experience during my play time.

See you on next journey and projects.

All-in-one UI pack, working for every resolution, just try it and keep it if you like it! Mess with the code, but i don't support any edit.

Features:
- healer layout available: just set the option to true and /reload ui
- you can enable/disable pretty much any plugin
- extended focus frame available, with portrait and castbar
- datatext can be enabled/disabled too, and background panel can be toggled on/off
- change textures/fonts as you please
- you can setup your personal layout, and if you mess with thing, reset everything

SLASH COMMANDS:
/ch will make appear the help - everything is there
/align brings out a grid, very useful to move things around

Other options can be found in the relative addon config.lua file (or in game if it's provided).

AURORA:
i use an edited version of this addon to match all the Blizzard frames with the ones i designed. In game you should disable all options but the map reskin and the "replace normal game fonts" one.

ACTIONBARS:
just open config.lua in ColdBars addon, it's everything there. There are the same options as before plus some additional functionalities like vertical bars and the possibility to costantly hide pet/stance bar.
Button skin is embedded into the bars addon.
NOW PLUS MOUSEOVER!

About screenshots: they may show MSBT and an aura tracker addon, they aren't included in the package. Sorry, i still havent updated them, hope to do it asap.

CREDITS:
All credits go to respective addon authors.
Thanks to haste, for creating oUF.
Thanks to Caellian, since i've learned destroying you awesome layout.
Thanks to Tukz, i've taken some features from your incredible work.
Thanks to WoWInterface, MMO-Champion and WoWHead for their communities which have helped me a lot.
Bags are a stripped down and reduced to the bone version of Stuffing.
Cooldowns are a "same of above" version of OmniCC.
Runebar is a "same of above" edit if nibRunes.

HOW TO INSTALL:
- Make a backup of your Interface and WTF folders, then move/delete them from WoW directory.
- Unzip the archive.
- Put the folders in the ZIP archive into you Interface/Addons folder.
That's it!

ADDONS LIST:
- alDamageMeter

Sounds very well coldkill

I have one problem with your ui. In the conclave of wind fight my fps drops down from 50 to 4 fps. All other bossfights run well. Do you have an idea what could cause this problem?

Sounds strange. I had a similar issue when i ran an edited DBM skin, but it's not inculed in my UI for this issue.

Also, i played last night and done HM conclave without any problem. Have you tried disabling other addons you may use?

Sincerely, i don't know, especially because as i said, i've done the fight with no issues.

Also done nefarian, no issues in that case too. Anyway be prepared, i think that 2.0 will be ready shortly after 4.2 (most of the work is done, but i need to test it with new patch before release).

Added a config file, working on movable frames. Probably i will make it with 2 presets layout for dps/tank (similar to the one we have now) and healer (better raidframes positioning).

EDIT: done a test tonight, at Conclave HM. I experienced tour same issue, and i found the error (updating color twice on boss frames) so the huge fps drop.

I've already corrected the error, please have patience a week or so for the new release. Thanks for finding that.

Hiya! Love this version, but also love the version you've been showing off lately too!

Just wondering what you use for the scrolling damage text?

@Nerielle I think he uses a version of xCT (a mod that Alza made).

I found a version by Googling.

Updated to 2.0!!

Added a config file for your needs, restored the bars + additional features more details in addon description.

To do: slash commands for changing options, embed actionbars.

I am sorry, but managing actionbars is someway complicated now. Imho, spend some time for adjusting the bar layout, then just lock them and play so you don't need to touch them anymore

Enjoy!

P.S: i use MSBT, just i edited it for monochrome outline.

I think it could be possible. Anyway it's a complicated thing.

Bad side is that i need to write a method that registers the channel duration then divides it into ticks, so i can put sparks/lines for each tick on castbar. Also it should be working with haste scaling.

Good side is that it could work for every channel and it would be a super-advanced feature that should bring me lots of download :P

I can try and give it a shot, but don't expect it soon, or better don't expect it at all. Thanks for the good idea anyway

One thing I'd like to get rid of but having an issue.

I want to get rid of the little "zzz" bubble on the EXP bar when resting. Don't need it and it kinda looks out of place in the UI.
Maybe I'm removing the wrong code. I get rid of the bubble but I also screw up the bar and break it.

Can you point me in the right direction. I just want to remove the bubble.

Trying to make a version of the oUF that is stand-alone.

Changed the font of the tooltip also. Not very readable when I want to see it fast.
How would I go about anchoring it to the cursor? Using Anchor_Cursor doesn't do it.

I know it's very complicated. I think I've seen such a kind of castbar. If I remember correctly, Damia was the ui. You'll find it here in the forum. He also uses "ouf" and I believe he had such a castbar. Maybe this will help further to find a solution.
Here is a part of the source code

-- FUNCTIONS
-----------------------------
-- special thanks to Allez for coming up with this solution
local channelingTicks = {
-- warlock
[GetSpellInfo(1120)] = 5, -- drain soul
[GetSpellInfo(689)] = 5, -- drain life
[GetSpellInfo(5740)] = 4, -- rain of fire
-- druid
[GetSpellInfo(740)] = 4, -- Tranquility
[GetSpellInfo(16914)] = 10, -- Hurricane
-- priest
[GetSpellInfo(15407)] = 3, -- mind flay
[GetSpellInfo(48045)] = 5, -- mind sear
[GetSpellInfo(47540)] = 2, -- penance
-- mage
[GetSpellInfo(5143)] = 5, -- arcane missiles
[GetSpellInfo(10)] = 5, -- blizzard
[GetSpellInfo(12051)] = 4, -- evocation
}
local ticks = {}
cast.setBarTicks = function(castBar, ticknum)
if ticknum and ticknum > 0 then
local delta = castBar:GetWidth() / ticknum
for k = 1, ticknum do
if not ticks[k] then
ticks[k] = castBar:CreateTexture(nil, 'OVERLAY')
ticks[k]:SetTexture(cfg.statusbar_texture)
ticks[k]:SetVertexColor(0, 0, 0)
ticks[k]:SetWidth(1)
ticks[k]:SetHeight(castBar:GetHeight())
end
ticks[k]:ClearAllPoints()
ticks[k]:SetPoint("CENTER", castBar, "LEFT", delta * k, 0 )
ticks[k]:Show()
end
else
for k, v in pairs(ticks) do
v:Hide()
end
end
end

To remove rested bubble: core.lua, from line 612. Just comment the lines with Experience.Rested (just put -- at the beginning of the line).

As for the tooltip: the idea was to set an option to have it on mouseover or in current place, just i didn't make it in time (but i have prepared things for when all the frames can be dragged around).

EDIT: @burn: that was fast lol. I didn't thought about that. It was so simple

A batter explanation: he just stores the individual spell ticks (which are constants) then when he register the spell cast, he checks if the spell is in the list and if yes, displays ticks.

I can give it a try for sure. Just it will take some time.

yes the idea is really very simple.

Do you think there is much work to get it running?
