ColdUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.3
by: Coldkil [More]

As everyone has realized now, i have stopped working on the UI basically because i have stopped playing WoW altogether.

I feel sorry to not have written here before, there is a lot of people that has shown a lot of support on my work and i didn't thank you enough for that.

I had a lot of fun playing with the UI and following your feedback to improve my work.

I hope that something in the future (maybe another game) will let me do another work similar to this, as it's been by far my best WoW experience during my play time.

See you on next journey and projects.

All-in-one UI pack, working for every resolution, just try it and keep it if you like it! Mess with the code, but i don't support any edit.

Features:
- healer layout available: just set the option to true and /reload ui
- you can enable/disable pretty much any plugin
- extended focus frame available, with portrait and castbar
- datatext can be enabled/disabled too, and background panel can be toggled on/off
- change textures/fonts as you please
- you can setup your personal layout, and if you mess with thing, reset everything

SLASH COMMANDS:
/ch will make appear the help - everything is there
/align brings out a grid, very useful to move things around

Other options can be found in the relative addon config.lua file (or in game if it's provided).

AURORA:
i use an edited version of this addon to match all the Blizzard frames with the ones i designed. In game you should disable all options but the map reskin and the "replace normal game fonts" one.

ACTIONBARS:
just open config.lua in ColdBars addon, it's everything there. There are the same options as before plus some additional functionalities like vertical bars and the possibility to costantly hide pet/stance bar.
Button skin is embedded into the bars addon.
NOW PLUS MOUSEOVER!

About screenshots: they may show MSBT and an aura tracker addon, they aren't included in the package. Sorry, i still havent updated them, hope to do it asap.

CREDITS:
All credits go to respective addon authors.
Thanks to haste, for creating oUF.
Thanks to Caellian, since i've learned destroying you awesome layout.
Thanks to Tukz, i've taken some features from your incredible work.
Thanks to WoWInterface, MMO-Champion and WoWHead for their communities which have helped me a lot.
Bags are a stripped down and reduced to the bone version of Stuffing.
Cooldowns are a "same of above" version of OmniCC.
Runebar is a "same of above" edit if nibRunes.

HOW TO INSTALL:
- Make a backup of your Interface and WTF folders, then move/delete them from WoW directory.
- Unzip the archive.
- Put the folders in the ZIP archive into you Interface/Addons folder.
That's it!

ADDONS LIST:
- alDamageMeter

- oUF_Coldkil
- cError

Just asking: what would you prefer between these two methods?

a) a unique slash command (e.g: /fr) that resets the unitframes position depending on what layout you've activated. Pro: only one command, if you change layout just /fr and everything goes to place; Cons: you have to setup the layout in the cfg file

b) two commands (e.g: /heal and /dps) that sets the default positions for the corresponding layout. Pro: switching frame position on-fly is really useful; Cons: still need to set up the cfg variable for everything else.

Atm i'm working with the first solution to check that everything works, but making the second one is easy and takes no time. So i decided to ask you what would be preferrable.

EDIT: going to upload the UI with the first solution. As i said, changing it won't be that hard (but imho it's the best one).

how can i change this to the cool new squares?
Thanks for pointing that out - since lock bars are a script i made myself when i made the new indicators (included with oUF) i simply forgot to change warlock shards in the same way.

Since i'm updating the UI for restoring the draggable unitframes in addition to actionbars, i'm going to fix it too.
Anytime still my Favourite ui on WoW I, its really well made, and you deserve at the very least a thank you,
although you also deserve a slap for making me make a rogue just cus the screenshots had one :P
on a side note tho thank you this trully is a fantastic piece of work, minimal, uses absoultley no system resources at all. and works like a charm.

note to all that download this ui. Also download DMB and click on other files. so you get the awesome dbm layouts
Congratulations on making in my opinion is one of the finest ui creations ive ever had the privilege of using. (and ive used alot all the way back to Discord back in vanilla)

Tbh, i use standard options, just added the UI font to MSBT. Other notable things:
- took out sticky crits, made manually every text crit and puta simple "!" after the damage
- animation speed 60 and little scroll area over the unitframes.

Beware that there is a nasty bug running with MSBT and OUTLINE MONOCHROME making the game crash or freeze and lose a lot of fps.

Until the bug isn't fixed (and it's by Blizzard side as Mik has said) i would suggest to use other fonts and no MONOCHROME.

for everyone using the UI:

i'm experiencing some kind of bugs with the actionbars - i fixed the visibility issues but sometimes it still doesn't display correctly the extrabutton and the override bar. Please wite here the problems you're experiencing.

I'm at the point the oUF_Coldkil is starting to become too big and a memory hog for some aspects - the idea is to make things like actionbars, bags, loot frames standalone addons, so i will manage bettter everything. I'm not planning to reduce the features, on the contrary it would be easier for me to add new ones and find problems faster.

Also this way people can easily switch between addons if they prefer other (and more famous) options.

In addition, i decided to work on an Aurora edit for ColdUI - the work is nearly done, i just need to fix some fonts because pixel fonts are cool for nearly anything, but sometimes is better a standard sans serif.

I hope to release a new and better version soon, it all depends on how much time it takes to fix the nasty actionbar bugs.

Override bar was pretty messed up - made a typo into the hide code so the default textures and such were showed instead of a correct styled bar.

I should have fixed it now, going to upload the update asap.

EDIT 5.0.1 uploaded. should be more enjoyable now

Known bugs at the moment:
- hovering on the time text will bring a lua error; this is due to the GetSavedIStanceInfo(i) that has something changed, and i'm looking into this (should be pretty easy)

- i forgot to add to rActionButtonStyler the hotkey renaming script; it's just a matter of putting the code into the new addon

- actionbars won't hide pressing the red button; you can use standard wow options to enable/disable them, it's in work with the new draggable frames system.

If anyone experiences strange behaviours or other LUA errors, post here what you've found.

EDIT: the first 2 issues are solved. Moving onto the dragging frames.

ColdUI for MoP

progress into the new expasion is going pretty well. News so far:
- new lock and shadowpriest bars are done
- monk is fully supported (with harmony bar)
- paladin holypower is done
- redone actionbars and buffs/debuffs with new style (zork you're awesome)
- nameplates are under work; they're going to be a separate addon due to many people preferring other kind of better/more complete addons. It wasn't that good to have the namplates overreiden two times.
- still not sure about the shaman totem timers. They work, but the timers are now very short (all totems now are more or less offensive/defensive cds) so i don't know how much useful they are.

if you want to change the font, just put the font file into the addon Media\Fonts folder, and just open the config.lua file.

There you can set the font you prefer aswell the size. Anyway for MoP i'm going to add the outline option, since pixelfonts love only "MONOCHROMEOUTLINE", while other fonts are better with "OUTLINE" or "THINOUTLINE".
