ShinyBuffs  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.2.2a
by: Seerah [More]

Features:

  • skin buffs/debuffs
  • move buffs/debuffs
  • change colors, texures, and font
  • able to use class colors (with support for !ClassColors and CUSTOM_CLASS_COLORS)
  • change size of buffs/debuffs independently
  • debuff icons are shaded by debuff type (temporary enchant icons shaded tench color, too)
  • option to display debuff type as border instead of icon shading **new
  • change the number of buffs per row
  • able to switch to all white duration text
  • option to show who your buff is from (only works with valid unitIDs, not some random passerby or guildie not in your party)
See the screenshots for some examples!

Limitations:
These are just the regular, old Blizzard buffs - but prettier! As such, you CAN cancel buffs during combat! However, you cannot rearrange the buffs, filter buffs, etc. The buffs/debuffs are also not movable independently - it's the standard layout, though you can change their sizes to make debuffs more visible in addition to changing where they're all anchored.

Also, the timer bar does not currently move for temporary enchants - it stays at 1. I may figure out a way to put that in in the future, but the API for temporary enchants isn't as friendly as that for normal buffs.

One other issue just encountered: when you file a GM ticket, you get the ticket timer thing at the top right of your screen, which pushes the buffs down. Problem is when you abandon the ticket (or, I assume, when its answered) the ShinyBuffs frame resets to its original position, not the position you previously set for it. Which means you have to move it again.
Ah - good catch - I forgot that it moved the buffs.

Yeah, I had initially just made the anchor in case you did not have any buffs when moving it. I'll put this on my to-do list. As well as figure out something for the duration text.

Absolutely fabulous. Was using Furbish, but this offers far (far) more customization while still retaining in-combat click-to-cancel as per the default buffs. As well as not using piles of CPU time like many buff replacement mods.

Except for one thing. Would be nice if you could make this able to be dragged like BasicBuffs gives the default buff frame instead of having to enter pixel values. The "Show Anchor" option doesn't seem to have much of a point if you can't drag it. Not so much the inconvenience of entering tons of values while trying to find a good position (although that's an issue), but the need to move the frame in combat sometimes (or otherwise).

For example, on the Corla fight, a frame comes up on the top rightside of the UI. Unmoveable, even with one of the many new focus frame moving mods. And sometimes the Blizzard buffs pile up so that the "Evolution stack" counter is hidden behind it. Making things difficult.

Basic Buffs is incompatible with ShinyBuffs; the ShinyBuffs "buffs" section become invisible when that mod is active. So would be nice to have the anchor able to be dragged.

Otherwise, great work.

Edit: someone posted below about the unmovable anchor while I was writing this...heh.

Is the anchor supposed to remain in a stationary position unable to be moved?

My debuffs seems to not align with my buffs as they do in your Screenshots.

What I mean by that is if my buffs are set at -205 x axis it seems my debuffs are at -150 x axis approximately.

Is this intended or perhaps I've got something wrong somewhere.

Edit: I've fixed my problem, had a setting in another addon interfering.

very nice! Ive found replacement for old buff mod. the only thing id like, if possible, is option to move the time remaining below the icon. I need to make font bigger to see it(bad eyes) but when i make it big enough it blocks the icon for quick identification.

Thanks!
