KuiNameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 178
by: Kesava [More]
Prettier, pixel-perfect nameplates with auras. Configurable through interface options (open with /knp or /kuinameplates).

Class colours on hostile players can be enabled in the default interface options, under "Names" - check "Class Colors in Nameplates" at the bottom right.

If you're having issues with nameplates being in incorrect locations or being unclickable, first try unchecking the "Fix aliasing" option in configuration.

Current features:
  • All of the default nameplate features
  • Pixel perfect!
  • Auras!
  • Combo points
  • Tank mode - recolour health bars when you have threat (enable by checking "Enable tank mode" in options)
  • Customisable display of health for friendly or enemy units
  • Pretty fading in/out of frames (disable by unchecking "Smoothly fade" in options)
  • Automatic toggling of nameplates when you enter or exit combat (enable by checking "Auto toggle in combat" in options)
  • Cast & incoming healing warnings, useful for PVP (disabled by default, check "Show cast warnings" in options)
  • Configuration profiles
Health display patterns:
The text to display for health on different frames is determined by two simple patterns: one for friendly frames and one for neutral and hostile frames. These patterns can be changed in the options dialog (/knp). They must make use of specific conditions and results, in the following format:
condition1:result1;condition2:result2;condition3:result3;
There must be at least one condition (and one result). Any other conditions are optional.

Possible conditions are:
"=" When the unit is at maximum health...
"<" When the unit's health is less than maximum...
"=<" When the unit's health is either less than maximum or at maximum...
Possible results are:
"m" ... Display their maximum health (i.e. 123.4k).
"d" ... Display their health deficit (i.e. -46.5k).
"p" ... Display their health percentage.
"c" ... Display their current health (i.e. 76.9k).
"b" ... Display nothing.
The patterns used by default are:
Friendly units: =:m;<:d;
Which means:
When the unit is at maximum health:Display their maximum health;
When they're below maximum health:Display their health deficit;
Hostile units: <:p;
Which means:
When the unit is below maximum health:Display their health percentage;
Planned features:
  • Frame blacklisting
  • Stuff I can't remember

Isn't that an option by default from Blizzard? (Interface > )

EDIT: Hmm I don't seem to be able to find it, I thought it was.

It is, in Interface > Combat > check Class Colours in Nameplates

It doesn't colour friendly units, though - they display blue.

Sounds like a good idea, I'll try it out.

The default interface doesn't let me do that easily but I'll look into it. I think I'd be able to colour the bars if the unit's in your party or raid, but otherwise it's a bit messy.

can you help me to change display of HP in to percentage?
I'll be adding [edit: more] configuration in the next major version so I'll [edit: try to remember to] make that an option.
In the meantime you can edit main.lua. If you find the line which says:
Code:
if frame.friend then
and change it to:
Code:
if false then
It ought to display percentages for any damaged units instead of their max/deficit health.

Thanks for the feedback.

Currently using Caelnameplates. I like how your's look but was wondering if it has the option to autotoggle nameplates when in combat/out of combat feature that cael has.

I want to say, great job with the addon, but I recommend a couple of things b/c your cpu usage skyrockets. 1) try to throttle your onupdate functions for the namplates by setting an elapsed if/else sequence and 2) make sure you also throttle your onupdate function for adding new plates as you cycle through the child frames to see what is new.

Thanks again bud, I used your fade in/fade out code in my nameplates - brilliant!

Not at the moment. When I add any sort of configuration I'll make that an option. I've got a fair few ideas for configuration so it'll probably be the next release.

All calls are throttled now. I skipped that on the previous release because I was being a bit silly, as you probably noticed. I think I still need to reduce it further.

Thanks for the feedback.

First of all, lovely addon!

This is the third addon I download to have different healthbars then Blizzard. Altho every addon seems to have the same bug.
If I mount my Sandstone drake, or one of this sandbox tiger cubs my healtbars dissapear. I have to reboot the game to be able to see them again, not exactly handy.

Is there any other way to fix this bug or get them back after the bug appears?
Thanks in advance!

i wish i knew how to make this addon show hp... like in your screenshots, i just see the name, the level, and the health bar, i want to see text hp inside the bar like your screenshots, i looked in the lua file and couldnt find anything, i suck at messing with that kinda stuff but didnt see anything obvious to change to fix it
