Auto Transform

Version: 2.2
by: SDPhantom [More]

-=Notice=-

As of patch 4.1, the entire transformation API has been removed from the game. Transformations are now exclusively triggered through the spell system and is impossible to set it up automatically. Sorry to say, this addon is permanently broken.

Auto Transform is a transformation engine written to handle transformations of specific races/classes. Currently, only Worgen use the transformation mechanic, but this redesign of Worgen Auto Transform adds the ability to expand to any future characters using this mechanic.

Version 2.2 fixes an occasional trigger failure on buff fade events concerning Darkflight and Running Wild. Also included is a movable TimerUI button that displays addon status along with the current timer for any pending transformations.

The TimerUI button reacts to clicks in the following ways:
Left-Click: Triggers an immediate transform if possible.
Right-Click: Toggles the addon on/off.
Middle-Click: Opens the options panel.

The TimerUI button also displays the addon status by color code:
Normal: The addon is running and fully functional.
Red: The game client is restricting transformations.
Blue: The addon is turned off.

List of current transformation events being handled for specific races/classes:

  • Worgen - Exiting combat, expiration of Darkflight, canceling Running Wild, and a fix for transforming into a druid form.

Options can be changed through the new options panel in Interface Options or through the slash command system.
These commands can be accessed by typing /autotransform, /autotrans, or /atf
Auto-Transform Usage: /autotransform [options]
Options:
help - Shows this message.
delay [n] - Sets base delay to [n] seconds.
toggle - Toggles active state.
options - Displays options GUI. (Default action)

2.2 (2011-03-08)
-Added TimerUI button and Options panel
-Fixed occasional failure to trigger on buff fading (Darkflight and Running Wild)

2.1 (2010-12-15)
-Fixed delay timer cancel on manual transform
-Extended module API for new cancel condition type

2.0 (2010-12-13)
-Rewrote entire codebase to support delayed transforms
-New slash command system
-Option to set a base delay
-Delay timer cancels on manual transform
-Added Druid fix for Worgen

How about making the "no sound" part as another addon then? That way you don't have to worry about over complicating something that would be, otherwise, very simple.

You could just add a link to that addon on the description of this one.

Either way I want to thank you, again, because I think this really adds depth to the Worgen as a race. It gives that "mess with me and I will bite you" feeling.

I wrote it in beta and had been using it for months, so I had time to refine it before release.

I'd like to see added support for druid forms, you don't revert back to human after leaving a druid form out of combat.
This must be a glitch. In beta, it was working fine with you appearing back in human form when you shift out of a form (the transform should happen while you're still in a druid form). It'll be at least a week before I can get a Worgen Druid out of the starting area. I have a really crappy internet connection and the crowd of players running through will very likely cause lag problems.

Can you also make it stop those whooshing sounds you get when you change forms? It ends up getting a bit old very, very soon, especially when chaining single mobs

You know what I think would be great is if he added a cooldown timer, like 10 or 15 seconds then it will be more like your calming down and will eventually revert back to your human form and it also wont change after every mob like you said.
I'd have to include a sound file to blank out the transformation sounds, which would make the install more complex. The sound files would need to be in a completely separate folder path than the addon itself. I would rather add in an adjustable delay timer for transforming back into human form. This would also fix a problem of the unable to transform error the game client occasionally throws while chaining mobs. This is a glitch with the game client since it tells the addon it can transform, then errors when it tries to.

Awesome addon, it works perfectly, grats to the dev!

I love it, no bugs at all, you nailed it on the first try. Also to the people who are saying just be a human, its not that we dont like worgen, its that we want it to be more feral, to only activate when where really really angry

Thanks again to the creator, it works just the way I want it to, and I like how it doesn't switch back when you use two forms so you can stay in worgen form when you want to.

The only thing I'd like to see added is support for druid forms, you don't revert back to human after leaving a druid form out of combat.

There are people that don't mind being in wolf form and do love it in those certain circumstances, but find it a pain that they have to continuously change back if they want to see their human side as well. This addon adapts the functionality that some people expected from Blizzard code and have been sorely disappointed at how incomplete it is.

This also has use in the RP community as some players wish to hide their wolf form in public and only let it out in private. That was the reason to add in the option to toggle the addon on/off.

Please explain.
He uses an event to trigger the transformation (leaving combat, or the removal of Darkflight or Running Wild). Thus, the addon will "automatically" turn you into a human form.

The /wat only toggles whether or not the addon is enabled. There is no GUI other than a message in chat that reports the state of the addon (Enabled, Disabled).

It's not clear.

The information isn't really clear to me. I don't understand.
