Archy is an assistant for Archaeologists that want information at their finger tips.


  • Localized for English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese users
  • On-screen customizable and movable list for the dig sites on the continent you are current on
  • On-screen customizable and movable list of the artifacts you are researching that can be filtered to display only the races for the continent you are on
  • Racial fragment types are shown for each of the dig sites
  • Solve artifacts with (left click) or without (right click) keystones by clicking on the racial crest icon in the on-screen artifacts list or bind a key for a one stop solve shop
  • TomTom support to help you navigate between dig sites
  • Able to display dig site boundaries on the battlefield mini map
  • Able to automate tracking of dig sites on the minimap, worldmap and battlefield mini map
  • Blacklist dig sites in the on-screen digsite list by right clicking on the dig site name. Perfect for when you have a bugged node or a dig site that is in a zone that you dislike.
  • Blacklist races so they do not appear in your artifacts on-screen list and won't be used when the artifact solve keybind is pressed

Users upgrading from v1.8.11 or earlier need to fully exit the game and restart, a simple reload won't work as there's been new files added.

If you have an old version of Archy (a version prior to 1.8) please delete the addon from your Interface\AddOns folder first then install it

Great addon, just one small thing, Ive set the announce options to off, yet everytime I log in it tells me I can make stuff and the options are all ticked again, any thoughts?

Wonderful addon just one small issue Everytime i complete an artifact the archaeology window will jump to Vykrul even though the selection window still says whatever I just completed.

Is there anyway to share the Databases with guild mates and friends?

This is a really great addon, but it must not depend on localization to work!
Here's what I've done to make it work:

In Archy.lua:

We'll need another table to store localized fragment names:

Archy.RaceCurrencies = {}

We will fill it at the same time as Races:

In ArchyDigsites.lua:

This won't do:

fragment_type, amount = strmatch(msg, "You receive currency: (.+) Archaeology Fragment x(%d+)")
I replaced it with

fragment_type, amount = deformat(msg, CURRENCY_GAINED_MULTIPLE)

Then I used RaceCurrencies to convert fragment name to race name:

if fragment_type then

	fragment_type = Archy.RaceCurrencies[fragment_type]

Then I replaced

This won't do as well:

I'm sure all of this could be done more elegantly, but those seem to be all the changes needed for Archy to work in ANY localization.

Okay, something's wrong with keystone looting, but it's really hard to debug and gChat is messing with global chat format strings..

I ♥ Archy, You have done an awesome job. Initially it has done all I wanted and more. I just wish there was a way to adjust the scale, background/transparency.

I have a hard time making out the text in certain zones. I have worked around this by using sunnart viewport and making a panel big enough to give the item and dig site blocks a back drop. The only problem is I dig between ques and it takes me a minute or so to switch off the viewport. If it was built into Archy I could simply left click the minimap button to toggle it off.

A simple temporary fix would be to give the white text a black outline option. seems like there may be a slight drop shadow now, but it is just not quite enough for my eyes.

I am trying to get the Broken Commons dig site again. Once I have tested that what I have in place works, I'll release the next version.

The Broken Commons area in Feralas is a very dodgy area in terms of mapping. I have reported the issue to Blizzard.

Go into the Archy Options panel by typing /archy config or Interface Options > Addons > Archy.
Enable Filter artifact research list for continent

This will only show you the races that are valid for the continent. If you manage to find a new race (when they are implemented or changed), it will automatically remember it.

hi there,

is there a chance some sort of filter can be implemented int he future so a player can select wich artefacts he want's to see in the list?

because for example i'm in outland at the moment, and i'm still seeing the pre-outland artefacts in my list. would be nice to be able to get them out of the list

otherwise, the addon rocks makes archeology a lot quicker ^^ especially the boring first 300 points pre-outland :P

Archy lists the Uldaman Entrance Digsite as being in Loch Modan, when it's really in Badlands.

hi there,

wonderfull addon but on use i already noticed a bug in the 2nd digsite i visited

Dire Maul: Broken Commons, i think you need to make the dig site bigger in your addon because only 1/3 got registred by the addon, also i was about 20 yards (according to tomtom) outside the digsite when i could already dig, this was on hte northern side of broken commons and didn't get registered,

also the 3rd didn't get registered, locations are around 43.15, 68.20.

if i notice more of these things i'll post m and try and note the locations as well.

Very cool and useful addon.

The only thing that I would change is to list the sites in STV as being in "Northern Stranglethorn" or "Cape of Stranglethorn", instead of just "Stranglethorn Vale".

The whole "Current Digsites" frame is bugged when in there. Think it has to do with the fact that you don't get the feralas world map there.

The newest version (1.5.3) is outputting the "you can complete artifact..." message to my chat window twice. Not a huge deal, but slightly annoying.
