New Installation / Revision Update


You won't need to rename any folders.
Installation is a simple 1-click install process.

New Installation Procedure:
Step 1: Move your current WTF and Interface folders to a backup folder.
Step 2: Copy RealUI's Interface folder to your World of Warcraft folder.

Revision (r#) Update Procedure:
Step 1: Copy RealUI's Interface folder to your World of Warcraft folder.
Note 1: Make sure to overwrite all existing files and folders.
Note 2: You won't lose any of your settings when updating RealUI.
Note 3: Visit the Change Log to find out which addons have been modified.



FAQ


Q: How do I change a particular setting in the UI?
A: A lot of UI elements are created via RealUI. To access these options, go to the Game Menu button (bottom left of screen) and click Options.
Other settings can be adjusted through individual AddOns options, usually found in the Interface options > AddOns tab.


Q: Action Bars / Grid / another addon keeps on resetting it's position after I move it, what's up?
A: The HuD Config utility found on the Game Menu button (bottom left of screen) allows you to reposition a lot of the UI elements.
To manually position an AddOn, go to the Game Menu button, click AddOn Control, then untick Pos on the AddOn you're trying to move.


Q: Nameplate font size keeps resetting after I change it, what's up?
A: Go to the Game Menu button (bottom left of screen), click AddOn Control, then untick Style on KuiNameplates.

Unit frames messed?

The regular real ui unit frames of which I love so much, seem to be broken for me :/ any suggestions? Maybe a second clean install? Instead of the regular realui frames, I seem to get these frames on the top left hand corner of my screen. My buffs are oddly placed as well. The buffs seem to be located on the far left hand side of my screen as well, though directly in the middle. Help!

Player Unit Frame

I just started playing again after a year off. I've been using RealUI for years and love it over any other UI. I do have a question, though.

In previous versions, when I last played and used this UI, I believe Pitbull unit frames were used for some time. With that I was able to set the combat fader for player frames to 0% when out of combat, making them disappear unless I target someone, was hurt, or entered combat. I see I can do the same, but I can't set the player frame to be click-through like in the past, making that specified area where the player frame is open to click around in.

Is there any way to change that, or anyone who knows how to code it in the oUF lua, that can direct me through it? As I understand there is no in-game oUF editing, if I'm correct.

As an end note: I would like to sincerely thank Nibelheim and Gethe for all their dedication and hard work throughout the years. It's greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, if you need the loot.lua file because you're too lazy :-P just pm me.

As for keeping your settings when you update to a new version, here's my complicated process:
1. Keep a list of what addons you make changes to that you would like to keep (physical or mental, it doesn't matter).

2. Open the new RealUI version folder and your WoW installation folder side-by-side.

3. Now here's where it might get tricky. Firstly, go into both savedvariables folders and compare. Using the new RealUI folder as a guide, highlight all of the files in the current installation with the same name (including the .bak files) and delete them, taking care to skip over the files you want to keep the settings for. This is to ensure that your installs are actually fresh. Now copy all of the files from the new RealUI folder to your current install.

4. Next you want to repeat the process using the interface and addons folders, again using the new RealUI folder as a guide to highlight the same-named files and delete.

And that's pretty much it. It does take a little getting used to but once you have it down the process shouldn't take too long. Deleting instead of replacing usually works better and doesn't lead to addons doing strange things in-game.

Seriously, if you delete smth that is not supposed to be deleted it may not work/lead to crashes.

Go to Interface\nibRealUI\Modules, open Loot.lua with wordpad. Search for all strings with "print" and delete them.
Probably author just forgot to remove debug code :P

It should be fine to just copy over the new saved vars and addons and overwrite the old. That said, if you encounter anything crazy please try a fresh re-install before reporting.

The loot messages are left over debugs for when i was fixing master loot, and i forgot to remove them.

I plan to lock bugsack updates and change this addon to show the minimap button, but only when there is an error. I only came up with this last night and didn't have time to make those changes.

No one saw my post previously... so ill repost

I am a balance druid... and I love your dot tracking system. However is there a way I can create another bar on the side so I can track moonfire and sunfire in two separate bars without it overlapping... sometimes I cannot see when to reapply moonfire because the other dot will overlap it... also how do I move the health bars... and finally can you write in the program a sound when you have low health or should I find an addon for that... Im dying and I know thats a personal problem for me because I never notice when Im at low health

The castbar is handled by NibIceHUD, which is integral to the look and feel of the UI. The hud also tracks several class buffs and debuffs. You sure you want to disable it? It takes some getting used to at first, but I can't stand to play without it anymore.
I was just toying around with it. Its just that when I'm healing the cast bar the shows up (after the HUD was disabled) goes on top of Grid so I wanted to shimmy it a bit and see. I will check it out later, thanks a lot for the reply.
