Tabbed Dungeon Browser (tabDB)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.5a
by: DefectiveUser [More]

Updated for 4.3

What is it?
I love the new cross-realm Dungeon Finder and Raid Browser, but I can’t understand why Blizzard decided to keep these features completely separated despite their obvious synergy. This small add-on attempts to fix this by combining the Dungeon Finder and the Raid Browser into a single window with tabs on the right hand side to switch between them. This results in easy access to the Raid Browser through the menu bar micro buttons.

More Details
The add-on will remember which of the two windows you last had open and will reopen it for you the next time you invoke the Dungeon Finder or Raid Browser. You can open them through any of Blizzard’s default methods, including the menu bar micro buttons, slash commands or the button in the raid tab of the social window. Note: If you do invoke it through the raid tab of the social window, the add-on will assume you wanted to open the Raid Browser specifically and will always open the Raid Browser regardless of the last window opened.

New in 2.0a
Thanks to user suggestions I’ve updated TabDB to include the Battlegrounds as well. Now you can easily tab between Raids, Dungeons and Battlegrounds to see what’s going on in each. Please check the change log for other updates.

Thank you for this Awesome addon DefectiveUser, it is absolutely useful!

I have asked the admins to delete the other file that I had uploaded as a temporary fix. I am unsure how to remove it myself, could not find any tick boxes to remove the file/addon. If you know how to do this, please let me know, other wise, my hopes rests on the admins removing it. =)

The only other thing I can do is report my own file, which I did. I just hope that doesn't get me in trouble with WoW Interface. =)

It looks like you may have posted this in error? From what I can see this error isn't related to tabDB, and it seems you've posted the same thing over at eCastingBar. Can this be deleted?

Wow, I'm sorry all. I did the very thing I promised myself I would never do; not update the mod. Up until 4.0.1 everything was working fine and given real life commitments I didn't have the time to spend updating the TOC after every update. Then I went overseas for a few weeks. Just got back and found it broken.

A BIG thanks to Seerah, Maziel, Dridzt and xplosive03 for working this out in my absence.

As an FYI this project is not dead. I'd been working on a replacement libTab long before 4.0.1 was even announced. Looks like that's probably going to need some changes now. In the mean time I will update the current libTab asap to at least get this working again.

Ugh, I'd hate to see what my other mod looks like; luckily it wasn't released yet

Dridzt update worked fine and the icons showed.

TBH I like the icons on Dridzt version better. Dridzt icons clearly indicate what the tab is where as xplosive03's icons look too similiar and are hard to tell at a glance what is what.

So... I uploaded it.

No problem.

Looks like someone 'sort of' packaged my edits in a "Fan's Update"
just changing the button textures.

So for people uncomfortable with source edits
there's a pre-packaged update now too.

If I replace the two files with your pastbins I get an error after login:

1x tabDB\libs\libTab-1.0a.lua:202: attempt to index a nil value
tabDB\tabDB.lua:49: in main chunk

Locals:

I like how a bunch of authors are sitting around the camp fire
saying "update plz" to each other

I'm just teasing, I mean no harm.

- Replace the contents of libtab-1.0a.lua with this:
http://www.pastey.net/141815

- Replace the contents of tabDB.lua with this:
http://www.pastey.net/141816

Save and enjoy?

Howdy Seerah.

If you are able to get a working version of the libTab file, can you upload it for us?

Many thanks!

I too have tried to do the _G replacement but something is not happening right for me either.

I did infact try switching it to the newer _G after my post (search on the forums always yeilds good results around here). However oddly enough you get the exact same error upon logging in. So there's obviously more to it that I don't understand.

Thanks for trying to help Seerah.

All you have to do is change getglobal() to _G[]

There seem to be 13 instances of getglobal() in the library, so you just need to find them all and replace it.

Ex: the first instance is
Code:
getglobal("libTab"..tabsId..key):SetChecked(1)
This should instead be
Code:
_G["libTab"..tabsId..key]:SetChecked(1)
Hope that helps!
