ncUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.1a
by: nightcracker [More]

ncUI is an extreme light-weight user interface with a nice minimalistic look. This UI has less than 350 kB memory usage! I'm in love with this UI, and I hope you will fall in love with it too. Almost all config(which is currently nearly none) is found in the .lua files. Open them with Notepad and start editing! Warning: if you edit the wrong parts it will break the UI.

How to install:
Rename (if existent) your "Interface" and "Fonts" folders to "Interface_backup" and "Fonts_backup". Extract the Interface and Fonts folders to the folder which contains WoW.exe(default is "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\"). On first login you will be prompted to auto-install, click yes and ur done!

Usage:
Once installed, when you enter the game the UI will auto-configure. Then your ready to begin!
The navigation in ncUI is a little bit different than in the default UI. To bind use /hb and you can bind your actionbars, spells in the spellbook and macros.
Rightclick on the minimap is for tracking.
To get 25 extra actionbutton, open the default keybindings frame(Escape > Bindings), scroll all the way down and bind something to "Extra Buttons". If you now press and HOLD the keybinding, 25 extra buttons will become visible under your mouse.

Config is in the lua file "config.lua" found in the ncUI addon folder. The settings are well commented and easy to edit.

Upcoming features/todo list:
- Gametooltip quest info
- Clock and guild to ncDatatext
- My own unitframes
- Rewrite of CoolLine to ncCooldownline
- Totem bar
Suggest features! My todo list that constantly updates can be found here.

- Lightweight threat meter Most likely going to happen
- Lightweight dps meter (which is able to show party/raid dps too) Don't know about this, because DPS meters carry a LOT of data
- Lightweight boss mods (probably not going to happen, I'll have to stick to DXE for that )) Not going to happen.
- Lightweight 'click to cast' addon (control/shift/alt click unitframes for certain spells) Maybe going to happen
- Lightweight autorepair/reagent restock/junk selling Going to happen, yellow is already happening
Thanks for the speedy reply. picoDPS has a tooltip which displays party dps, and still it doesn't use too much memory. However, it seems to be rather inaccurate at calculating dps properly - StatBlock_DPS seems to be better at this, but it only shows self dps.

Maybe something similar could be implemented?

Again, very nice UI so far - I like the layout.

Debuff is not implemented, but buff is implemented in the form of ncSpellalert.

Memory usage is not a profiling stat, just because you use "only" 314 KB of memory does not make your compilation perform any better than another one.

That's not true, memory DOES have an impact on the game. CPU usage is even more important, but memory does have an impact on the game. Also, 1MB memory usage in WoW has a way bigger impact on the game than normally 1MB on your computer.

You could create a dps addon that only saves the last fight, and when fight is over it will delete the data, but remember the final numbers of dps/dmg done.

Nope. 1 MB of static memory has essentially no impact on performance which is the memory you are showing off in your description. The only part of memory that impacts the game is garbage generated as that adds more GC cycles and costs more CPU.

Generally people who are running computers with low RAM are better served going for either less addons or not running so many programs in the background when they play. But that's because they have a much lower cap on RAM, not because an addon that uses less memory is magically a better performer.

I'd love to discuss this, but please only discuss ncUI here. PM me about it if you want.

And what would that accomplish? I think the only important part about a DPS addon is with what spells/abilities you did damage, not the total amount. But if there are lot's of requests for it I will consider making it.

Just thought I would let you know that this UI is beautiful! Keep up the good work

Suggestion:

-If possible add a button to the bags to auto-sort (Kind of like Bankstack)

Bug:

-When opening up the bags, my Dragon Hide Bag will still display in the bottom right corner. Closing that bag makes the Bag display turn black, and I am unable to drag items to Dragon Hide Bag in the bottom right hand corner (the slots for it are still in the large bag display). I think it is just not hiding like it should be.

Picture:

-/bind = /ncb now - Thanks for the quick reply!

Again great UI and if I have anything else I will post

I'm sorry, forgot to edit, it's now /ncb.

Hiya, was just trying out the UI a bit, and got amazed how smooth and system friendly it really was. But ive gone into some trouble, The cooldown bar is terribly missplaced, and the bags are also pretty much buggy .

Heres a print how it looks; http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/5...0109144127.jpg
(no i havent set up my keys yet)

Other than this, everything looks uber sexy! Cant wait for your own raid and player frames!

All known problems, did you try /configure yet? The bag's currently are buggy and I'm trying to fix them(a bag addon is really complicated to make you know)

Nope, there isn't, my UI uses a different system. Scroll all the way down in the keybindings frame, and bind something accesible to ncExtrabuttons like G or F. If you hold that button it will show 25 extra actionbutton under your mouse Watch out though, you must be dragging something to see them because always show actionbars doesn't work on them. After a spell has been put in them they are visible ofcourse.

I hope I helped.
