Lunar Unit Frames (Arena Edition)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.26
by: sailen [More]

Description:

A unit frames replacement with the performance of an oUF layout with very easy to use, in-game configuration options.
Features:
Most of the common features from the popular unit frames, plus some new unique features, including:
  • Dynamic aura database -This includes options for priority buffs/debuffs, filtering/hiding, self-only filtering, and mouse-over buffs. Use the search feature to search for words in names, class, buff or debuff, or tooltips to instantly create custom filters.
  • Inverse/reverse health/power bar options with true transparency - This will allow the status bars to fill backwards, making them most apparent when the players are low on health. This allows healers to more easily identify who needs heals, and can also make the frames clear when no attention is needed.
  • Custom Party Filtering - Allows you to choose what raid members appear in your party. Designed primarily for the battlegrounds, this can replace the party frame while in a battleground or raid. Options to auto-add friends or guild mates is also included. Add raid members to the custom party by right clicking them, and selecting the option from the drop-down menu.
Please check the change log for the newest features. New feature requests are welcome, please comment and tell me what you like or dislike. I'll have it done asap.

1.26
- Fixed bug with random numbers when frame hiding
- Fixed bug with blizzard raid menu add/remove priority raid
- Adjusted Target Of * spacing
- Adjusted oUF_Experience bar size

1.25
- Added support for oUF Experience.
- Slightly decreased font size of target frames, and changed default options to compensate.
This was done to make the longer names more legible. I recommend going to the customize frames page, Target of *, and clicking "Defaults" on the lower left, then "these settings".
- Level no longer shows on the focus frame.
- Fixed bug that caused power bars to show even when set to zero height.

1.24
- Added option for negative group spacing. This allows party/raid frames to grow upward.
- Added option for priority aura offset. This allows auras to show in the center of the frame.
- Functions for enable/disable frames have been redone. Should be bug free.
- Reduced cpu usage for party filtering.
- Fixed pet updating when dismounting or entering/leaving vehicles.

1.23
- Significantly reduced CPU usage for party filtering in large raids.
- Fixed frames incorrectly showing offline.
- Fixed vehicle update for the pet frame.
- Fixed party targets enable/disable.
- Fixed level update on target change.

1.22
- Added option to choose MouseOver buffs key.
- Fixed bug with TargetOf* updating.
- Disabled vehicle switching of Player and Pet frames to make them consistent with the party frames. (still look for vehicle solution for raid frames)

1.21
- Updated oUF, Healcomm, SpellRange.
- Embedded ReadyCheck.
- Added option for Health/Power deficits.
- Aura searching is now load on demand. This saves about 1mb of memory and improves load time.
- Fixed bug that caused raid frames to show when not in raid.
- Fixed bug with aura monitoring.

1.20
- Fixed bug with aura spacing and frame level

1.19
- Added support for ButtonFacade for all buffs and debuffs.
- Added option to adjust aura spacing. This is to calibrate for various ButtonFacade skins.
- Added option to hide rest and pvp/faction icons.
- Added option for 2d portraits.
- Targeting npcs of unknown types now defaults to their 2d portrait instead of question mark.
- Power detail now shows for any power type (when enabled). This was done for DK's with 130 power.

1.18
- Added "Modules" tab. Disabling modules will prevent them from loading, saving memory.
- Fixed bug with pets when loading.

1.17
- Added oUF_SpellRange for all frames (accurate range checking).
- Changed oUF_CombatFeedback to show only damage on friendly frames and healing on target/focus frames.
- Lower CPU usage for frames with castbar or powerbar set to zero height.
- Lowered cpu usage when browsing the customize frames options.
- Fixed all known bugs.

1.16
- Reduced overall memory usage.
- Fixed bug with unintentional chat outputs.
- Names now take full frame when possible.
- Changed TargetOf* default colors.
- Modified welcome screen.

1.15
- Added Arena unit frames, Arena Targets, Arena Pets.
- Added incoming heal indicator option with embedded LibHealComm-3.0.
- Greatly reduced CPU usage while mouseover-buff option is enabled.
- Fixed minimap options bug with non-default profiles.
- Fixed aura table tooltip search.
- Fixed castbar bug.
- Improved default aura settings.

1.14
- Added option to show or hide percentages on bars.
- Improved load time and CPU usage slightly.
- Fixed bugs with names icons, and PlayerPet updating.
- Fixed bug with blizzard cast bar not saving.
- Removed "Set Focus" from the dropdown menu, since Addons can't use it anyway.

Boss Debuffs / Debuff highlight

I LOVE this addon. I use debuff highlight with it.

Im curious as to why the boss debuffs arent on the list.. Incinerate flesh comes to mind in totc. I would love to be able to quickly identify who has the debuff. There are several situations where having the ability to add boss-inflicted debuffs to the priority list would come in handy..

It would be even cooler if you could designate certain specific debuffs to highlight the frame a user-specified color.. like i want to know when the anti healing poison is on someone im responsible for in pvp.. quickly and without looking at little debuff squares..

this stuff would be valuable to me as a healer.

Alphabetical Party Sorting would also really help for arena so my party members don't switch frames between games. I use scroll wheel to target my allies so it's disorienting to my eyes for one to be top one game, and the next he's bottom.

There's nothing that I know of in Lunar that touches the standard Raid frames. Try turning off all other addons and see if you're still having this issue.
Ah yes, is it possible to have the config module set as load on demand?
It's possible, but it would increase memory of the base addon. I didn't feel that it would justify the convenience.
sailen, how does the aura layout work for those that are on priority? Will they line up or break after a certain number?
They should continue, up to a maximum of 10. This may slightly vary depending on your aura spacing.

Thanks for reporting this, it will be fixed in the next patch.
I also experienced some odd behavior with the party frames in a regular party, where they wouldn't appear until I reloaded UI.
I've seen this on occasion as well. I'm not sure why it's working intermittently, but I'll look into it.
It would also be nice to have options for when [the party frames] appear, I prefer to heal with Grid in PvE but in Arena I need party frames where my grid normally is, so having an option to make the frames Arena-Only, or Raid-Prioritization only, would be a big help.
These are good ideas. I'll see what I can do.
Edit: There's one thing you can try. Go to customize frames, then the party tab, and uncheck the "show while raid" option. Then go to the options tab, and check the "5 man raid as party". This will allow you to see the party frames while in arena, and it will hide them when your raid goes over 5 people.

sailen, how does the aura layout work for those that are on priority? Will they line up or break after a certain number? I see that on your screenshot(s) you currently have 4. A Shadow Priest for example may have up to 6, so will it continue to grow to the left/right or will it break into another line?

I hope I made myself clear, as it's kinda hard to try these things out in actual combat. I've been using ClassTimer so far since it allowed me to modify the aura layout a bit more effective such as allowing the aura(s) to grow upwards and so on. But I just decided to go as light as possible when it comes to addons I currently have running as it's so much easier to configure.

It would be nice to have more options for the party in general. Right now there's no way to sort, which means I'll get a random order each time (very irritating with the way I bind party frames). It would also be nice to have options for when they appear, I prefer to heal with Grid in PvE but in Arena I need party frames where my grid normally is, so having an option to make the frames Arena-Only, or Raid-Prioritization only, would be a big help.

Well you made a point on those 2 topics about having the frame update every 0.5 seconds. I mean for example Pitbull had it set to 0.1/0.3 or so, it sure made the whole process about low cpu usage a myth.

I'm curious about the portrait part though, nothing serious but I always thought it called the update by getting the ID rather than class/type and name/location (area?) of the actual mob. Like I said, nothing serious I actually started noticing this just recently so I got a bit curious that's all.

Now on to the new question I have on my mind: I assume the raid module is tempering with the standard Raid interface? Sometimes this interferes and I can't set assist/main tank and so forth. This also happens on the Raid frames as well, but not always.

This is set by the oUF library. The "Target Of" don't trigger events like normal frames. To save CPU usage, every 0.5 seconds, it does a periodic check to make sure it's updated the name instead of every OnUpdate cycle.
Random generated numbers on Players Pet and Party targets
This will be fixed in the next patch.
Target's portrait sometimes get's stuck or shows the incorrect model, i.e. male version for a female npc
This is happening because the name update function, which also calls for portrait updates, is set to ignore the update if the name and level are the same as the last check. So when you target a male monster with name XYZ, then a female monster with name XYZ, the function assumes they are close enough and there's no reason to update the portrait. This was done to save significant CPU usage. If you disagree with my reasoning, please let me know.
Aura filter? Some mobs in say Naxxramas have this shield that is not visible as an aura, do we/I have to manually add/record this spell into the aura database?
There's no need to manually add auras. There's an option on the "Options" tab named "Monitor for new auras". When it's enabled, any buff or debuff you see will automatically update the auras table. I recommend keeping it off when not necessary due to CPU and memory usage.

How can I disable the cast bars that come with the addon? IF it is not possible atm, can you add an option in the modules section to disable all casting bars so that I can use quartz exclusively?
On the "Customize Frames" tab, choose global or a specific frame type, then set the cast bar height to zero. If this doesn't work please let me know.

Okay, I shall sum up the following issues I currently know of:
- Target w/ Target's Target don't update as frequently as the Player frame. This goes for portraits as well, but it's nothing serious.
- Random generated numbers on Players Pet and Party targets (I have no idea what's causing this, but it only happens when say a party member drops her/his current target)
- Target's portrait sometimes get's stuck or shows the incorrect model, i.e. male version for a female npc
- Aura filter? Some mobs in say Naxxramas have this shield that is not visible as an aura, do we/I have to manually add/record this spell into the aura database?

I've been concerned about this as well. A while back I posted on the oUF forum about this, and someone recommended having raid pets for every raid frame, then doing a vehicle swap. The pet frames wouldn't be visible, but it would use a significant amount of memory/cpu. I'll look into it further and see what the best way to handle this would be. Until then, your setup with Grid and Lunar is the best I know of.

Good question. The addon named Clique is compatible with Lunar Unit Frames, and has many options for actions upon clicking a frame, including casting or focusing.
...Some settings for colorizable (de-)buffs by their school (magic, poision, .. etc) via transparent color...[that can] be dispelled by me...
This feature is also available right now, by the plugin oUF_DebuffHighlight.

If you need any help with this, or this isn't the solution you're looking for, please let me know.

Awesome addon!!

This UI is AWESOME! I totally like it!

Only two thing i have (for now ).

First: Optional setings for arena frame where right click on target set that target as focus. (Proximo addon can do it for example)

Second: Some settings for colorizable (de-)buffs by their school (magic, poision, .. etc) via transparent color over debuff icon. Colored border is fine, but it can be easy overlooked, so with the discint colored icon, from the first moment i know my target have high priority buff and it is MAGIC so it CAN be dispelled by me (for examlpe) ASAP.

If you want, i can make image what i mean

Thanks and sorry for my english

Party targets works as expected, cheers ^^

edit: About that pet issue.. It sometimes happens on Party targets as well, but only if they're switching or dropping their current target really fast.
