StatScore  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.3.33
by: Ne0nguy [More]

About StatScore:

All item comparison addons provide you with a different way of measuring gear upgrades. Most of which will tell you that an epic that just dropped is a huge upgrade for you. But after taking a second look at it you find that even though it has a higher item level, it does NOT have the right stats for your paticular class/spec.

StatScore is different. It uses weight tables to analyze which stats are best for you, and which aren't. Using the same calculation methods that Wowhead uses, it will take each stat on the currently shown item, multiply it by its weight value (specific for your class/spec) and add it for its total value. It is then normalized by dividing by the total value of all weights. After all the math is done StatScore will insert the value at the bottom of any equipable item tooltip along with a comparison or off-spec value if applicable.

All you have to do is type /StatScore and select the profile that best describes your character and StatScore will do the rest.

Confused by the math? See the screenshots to the right to see how the profiles affect each class's score or Read Wowheads FAQ about Stat Weighting.

I'm back... again

Hey guys,
I hope everyone had a good year.
Now that the holidays are over and the queue times are up to FORTY minutes now it seems I have more time on my hands to finish a few things I promised for this addon.
I should have a working version up within the next 2 weeks.

The goal is to make it as similar to Wowhead's version as possible.

Hi,

very nice addon, and glad you updated it for Cata

BTW, can you update it to increase the value for spirit for restauration shamans. With Cata, spirit is really important and there's no weight for it in, so SS become useless for us

The order is not important.
I will review the code and see if I can find a reason for the referencing.

Any specific reason? I can understand the need for addons like IceHUD, X-Perl, SBF to have own configuration interface, but it's unlikely you'd be need to access interface at the same time as configuiring StatScore.
Over time the purpose of the interface will be less about simple options and more about in-game reference and utility.

C: BUTTON - Import a stat weight profile from another character (on your account)
D: BUTTON - Import a stat weight profile from a previous save
E: FRAME - In-game stat weight editing area
F: BUTTON - Click to change stat or weight
G: FRAME - Best-in-slot gem viewer based on your stat weights
H: ICON - BIS Uncommon Gem Icon/Link
I: ICON - BIS Rare Gem Icon/Link
J: ICON - BIS Epic Gem Icon/Link
K: CHECKBOX - Enable StatScore in Tooltips
L: CHECKBOX - Enable OffSpec Score in Tooltips
M: BUTTON - Erase all saved data
N: BUTTON - Save changes
O: BUTTON - Close window discarding changes

I have notified Blizzard of the bug related to reforged items retrieving the wrong stats.
At this point all I can do about that is wait for them to fix it and watch for any new APIs related to reforging. (there are some already, but don't seem to do anything)

I can imagine, but first, nearly empty, selector looks just wrong.
By any means, I don't see why would you be creating more than 10-15 custom profiles, and they all could be listed under single "Custom" entry, thus you only need two selectors. (Not to mention that clickfest is a bad UI design)

Aww!! Totally forgot! I don't see in patchnotes you tended to reforged items, so just to keep it in your mind.

Yet another crash:

Suggestion: ditch middle selector, make first selector "Class1/Class2/.../Custom", second depends on the first - either class-relevant presets or handmade presets list. No fake entries - they are killing (that's the crash).

A FAQ entry worth mentioning:
Scores for different specs could differs dramatically, and higher score in one spec not necessarily means this item is better for that spec.

Thanks for the clips. That will make a world of difference. I will be reviewing those today and I will try to get another release out either today or tomorrow.

I am now able to reproduce the problem with SwapScores in the gear manager.
An update will be provided when a solution to the problem has been found.

If you encounter any LUA errors while using this addon, please do not report them unless you can reproduce the issue after performing these steps:
1. Disable all other addons.
2. Type "/statscore reset"
3. Type "/statscore"
4. Try and reproduce the issue

Video clips of you reproducing the steps above are extremely helpful.
The SavedVariables are also helpful if you have a way of uploading them.

The video makes it very clear how the addon is reacting to your UI.

It would be interesting to look at the "/statscore dump" and "/statscore dump raw" reports.
Ok, i'm making some progress. The issue with changing scores have a pattern. The actual scores are right, but swapscores in comparison tooltip are displayed from the previous item.
How about taking the road of RatingBuster and display swapscore on the item itself, if it's causing so many issues? (I'd actually like to only see swapscore of a given item)

ADD: Checked with clean client. "It is"

P.S.
How about removing class selector dropdown? I *highly* doubt anyone would be need to set DK profile for Paladin, f.e.... Or autoselect the current class.

P.P.S.
Any fixes?
