Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Also I lied, the text things will be in either tomorrow or the day after, it's a bit more complicated to add them in for configuration, and I don't want to delay pushing some fixes just for that.

No worries, Shadowed. Your notes below about being able to see frame outlines for configuration. With two cool new features (config and text), no one is going to mind waiting.

Thank you again for all your hard work on this addon.

I'm going to push it later since I have some configuration areas I want to clean up, but the text options are in http://github.com/Shadowed/ShadowedU...es/tree/master if you want to grab them now.

Awesome Unit Frames Mod. It's simple to use, simple to configure, and has all the information/frames I need.

[EDIT: Nevermind, solved the problem I had myself. Once again, easy configuration saved the day. Thanks.]

I am here again for another hopefully not stupid question on my part. I was just wondering where the option to turn on the this feature is at so I can use it. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/4510/moverr.png. Otherwise i still think this is the best addon I have ever used and thank you so very much creating and keeping it going as well as you have.

Suggestion

Hello again Shadowed.

I have now configured my unitframes to look like they did before with a few exceptions, but that's nothing serious.

I just wanted to drop a suggestion for the addon.
As far as I understand the indicators on your sUF Raidframes, there's only the possibility to add certain auras to the indicators rather than a whole "type" of debuffs like "magic", "poison" or "disease" and then showing the appropriate icon on the frame.
I know there's an option to color the frame or the border (can't remember exactly) according to the type of debuff should you be able to cleanse it but I rather have a colored square and the debuff icon so I can sort out if the cleanse is needed (heavy debuff) or not (frostbolt snare in PvE).

Xaith: I've been thinking of adding a highlight type of feature and one of the things it would be colored by is debuff color if you can cure it, I'm not too much of a fan of the entire health bar being recolored for curses either it's no very obvious especially for Warlocks or Mages.

If there's a specific curable debuff that actually matters, you might want to add it to the center indicator as an icon thought? That would be more obvious that they have it and you need to cure it.

cadon69: No problem, next push I'm adding something that will explain what they are and let you lock them through it to make it more clear (and easier to use in general).

I'm not sure If I have missed the option somewhere but is there anyway I can still have the portrait on the right side of the target frame but have the health bad deplete from left to right rather than right to left?

All I can seem to get is the health bar depleting in a uniform manner for all frames and that is right to left.

Portrait is on the right side of the target automatically, you can't make the health bar deplete from the left to right, might add that as an extra.

Feature Request:

For portraits, I have the following style setup:

PLAYER_PORTRAIT HEALTHBAR HEALTHBAR TARGET_PORTRAIT

The problem, which is primarily stylistic however is not a feature of any unitframe that I'm aware of, is that both portraits face the same direction.

I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to add an option to the portrait module to allow us to "flip" a given portrait horizontally. That way my 2 portraits in my unit frames could effectively "face" one another. In many many UI comps, this is one reason a lot of individuals release with both a unitframe mod + model citizen, just because of this one exclusive functionality. It'd be really amazing if you could incorperate this into either the baseline code, or into the extras package.

Aside from that, there was one thing I was thinking about... but I can't for the life of me remember what it was, so I suppose that'll have to wait til it crosses my mind again.

Thank you very much for your consideration, and again, amazing work on these. I've had a blast getting them integrated into my UI. heck, with the grid module I've even replaced my long beloved grid with these as my raid frames.

Danke.

Ok I know I'm asking a lot recently, but here goes.

I miss custom background colors for each bar, because I'm using a relatively small power bar and it's hard to distinguish the borders between health and power bar when both are a bit depleted.
Do you plan on adding this option?
Clicky (Ignore the upper part, it's just DBM)
This is what I want to achieve (those were my Pitbull Unitframes).

I really like your Unitframes, the configuration is easy to understand, there are just some little tweaks I miss from the memoryheavy Pitbull

Xaith: Static memory isn't a stat to base performance off of. But no, I don't plan on adding custom background colors for the time being.

Peoii: Not something I really plan since it's purely an asethic feature and not exactly a common one.
