Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

not sure about the official name, maybe "raid target". I speak about the signs you put on players/mobs for the raid (star, circle, cross, ...). I haven't test it with last version as I have no acces to Wow atm, the problem is with version of 06/09 as I remember.

p.s. glad to see you at least think about the idea of dynamically resizable raid frame. It may be a great differentiator with other Unit Mods

zacharysc: There are no dragon type of indicators for mob type, you can use the [classification] tag for Rare Elite/Elite/Boss/etc indicators, or [shortclassification] for R+/+/B/etc.

bogey: No way to search these comments specifically that I know of, what do you mean by timer on buffs/debuffs. If you're talking about the time left specifically in seconds, then you need another addon, the one in the screenshot specifically is OmniCC by Tuller ( http://www.wowinterface.com/download...36-OmniCC.html )

Politig: This seems like it might be more of an issue caused by the colors exaggerating the bar spacing, if you could provide a screenshot of it happening that would be great, been using it the best few days and not noticed any issues.

kalandorno: You cannot show yourself in the party frames, I'll see about adding it if it's simple. Not sure if I want to add the color health bars for decurse type, but I'll think about it.

globus: Not sure about adding different raid sizing, I'll think about it but not sure I can add it cleanly. Which raid indicators are you talking about specifically, the ones included in ShadowedUF_Grid, raid targets, ready check?

runamonk: Will see about getting something like that added in the next push.

xjtufans: Known bug, working on fixing it.

Hello,

This might not be fixable, but while using the border Square Clean and in a party with 2 other DKs and 2 Priests, the gaps between the priests' health and power bars were noticably larger than the DKs. I cant tell if its a DK issue or a Priest issue. I find that the same problem occurs while using ag_unitframes.

Thanks!

Coloured by Debuff

Love the addon. Messed around with pitbull4 for about 2 hours to get it the way i wanted. Then i found up it was using so much cpu cycles, i had to bin it.

Got this to do everything i wanted bar 2 things:

1) Is it possible to include my own unit frame with my party frames.
I have My unit frame down the bottom, but my party frames up the top. I find when im healing i tend to ignore my own bar too much if they are not with the party frames.

2) You can colour raid frames health bars by debuff type. Is it possible to do this for other frames too?

keep up the good work

Hello shadowed,

the last week I made a lot of raids both 10 and 25 (and some wg bg too, so 40 people). I use the raid frame display in columns and I set the max frame by column to 15 (which seems to be a max for the size of my screen and my old eyes)
So in raid 10 I have only one column, for raid 25 2 columns and 3 columns for raid40.
As the frames are a little small I feel more comfortable to play with the scale of the raid frame when I'm in raid10 to have like 50% bigger raid frames.

So I wonder if it would be difficult to implement a dynamic size of raid frame based of the number of people in the raid. or maybe have 3 types of raid frames instead of one (raid10, raid25 and raid40 raid frame types) and be able to dynamiccaly swap the type of raid frame used based on number of people in the raid.

one small pb I have at the moment is the position of raid indicators, when I change the position in conf , the symbols disapear totally or are not displayed where they should (or at least where I expect them)

Hello,

I noticed that SUF was updated, but nothing happened in the change log. Has SUF been updated as of 6/10/09?

Thanks!

xjtufans: Use the latest version

runamonk: I'll see about adding that into the next push.

Also note, the issue with heal comm being inaccurate with mouseover heals seems to be an issue with LibHealComm-3.0 itself, not SUF

Nevermind. I found the option to add my own tags, So I created a threat one. Awesome mod man. I think I might be in love.

Events: UNIT_THREAT_LIST_UPDATE UNIT_THREAT_SITUATION_UPDATE PLAYER_TARGET_CHANGED

function(unit)
local _,_,threatpct,_,_ = UnitDetailedThreatSituation("player","target");
if threatpct ~= nil then
return string.format("%.0f", threatpct).."%"
else
return ""
end
end

Quick question, is there a way to display threat on my current target unit? I have checked through the text available for both the left and right sides and nothing is popping out at me.

A small issue, when I'm in combat, if someone invite me, after I exit the combat state, the party frame will not show.
Is there any way to resolve it? Thanks.
