SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Custom Layouts

Was wondering if there was a thread somewhere or some such which had a listing of peoples Layouts for SuF that was available for people to import and try?

ShadowDK: Could you provide a screenshot of this? I'm not quite sure what you are saying the bug is.

resit: No, not right now.

destruct10n: You can only relink them through the frames tab in the unit configuration.

Silentbob_dk: Will see if I can sort out why, but I can't think of any reason why you'd be getting this issue.

Hello, nice to see the addon is improving all the time

I think I noticed a bug today when arranging party frames. If I try to set party frames with only 3 units pr. column and adjust the column spacing, it doesn't work. I can't arrange the frames as intended. A bit difficult to describe, but it doesn't behave as it should

I tried to do this in order to try replacing grid with this and the aura tracking addon since this would be a bit more flexible than grid.

First off, amazing addon

Now to my question: Is there a way to maintain using the visualheal feature without taking hots into consideration?

I raid as a resto druid and find it particularly annoying to have the incoming heal bar on myself the entire time (since I always rejuv myself). It's annoying to the point where I disable visualheal on the player unit frame (I leave it on target since I actually want inc hots showing for targets).

Is it possible to relink the frames?

When you unlock the frames you get the box that says "unlink frames" I did this quite some time ago, but now they are never linked at all, I wanna move them as a group again because I am trying to adjust my UI. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them linked again.

edit: this is only happening with the target, target of target, and target of target's target. They won't link together no matter what like they did when i very first installed sUF

I have Lua errors enabled. Also just checked to be completely sure. Earlier this week or last week, can´t really remember, I had a problem with Lunasphere. However the Lua error popped up every time I logged in, so there should not be anything blocking the Lua error report.

I have a feeling it may just be me, doing something wrong to cause the error. However I have tried to compare with the default tags already in the addon and can´t find anything different.

Silentbob_dk: Sounds like you have Lua errors disabled, Game Menu -> Interface -> Help -> Enable Lua Errors, use the tag again and see what error it gives.

Yeah, it's great but I would like see party frames and raid frames (not dissapearing party frames) in 5-men party instances o 5men group (no raid)because the party frames i can see more information and 3D portraits xD
Is it difficult to implement?

Thank you for you speedy response. However my pretty much non-existing lua knowledge is greatly showing

I have tried both your suggestion, but they only return the name I give the tag followed by an error.

1: Arranged like this:

function(unit, unitOwner)
return UnitIsPlayer(unit) and "(Player)" or "(NPC)"
end

2: The second like this:

function(unit, unitOwner)
return UnitClassBase(unit)
end


I do understand I´m pretty much asking to be guided through this. So please just ignore me if your time is limited. Its still a really great addon and this is just cosmetics.

1) For action bars, I use Dominos. I don't really have a need for any new addons at this point, so I doubt there will be anything I really do related to those. Antiarc and I have a project we're working on called SexyGroup that is sort of like Examiner thought.

2) I don't remember which unit setting it's in, but either Unit Configuration -> Raid -> Raid -> Show party in raid or Unit Configuration -> Party -> Party -> Show party in raid

Hiii Shadowed, thx for making the best addons of wow. My FPS up between 10-15 and NO MORE STTUTER in 25man raids for replace my old addons (x-perl,elkano buff bars,etc) for your lightweight,BEST CPU EFFICIENT and cool addons (shadowed unit frames, simple buff bars, new gladius). I like playing wow again!

- Will you make in the future more addons as lightweight recount, bartender, examiner, etc??

- Could you implement in shadowed unit frames to display in 5-men party instance as raid frames also (I configured as grid-like)? for more easy heal in party instances.

I´m pretty new to SUF, however I´m really impressed so far. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in to it.

However I do have a couple of questions, like everybody else

I´m playing a little with the Text/Tags and I was wondering how one would go about making:

- a tag saying (NPC) or (Player) respectively

- a tag describing an NPC´s class (warrior, paladin, rogue etc) like it is possible with players

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
