What is GupPet:
GupPet is an add-on that gives an extension for mounting and calling critters. By a single click it mounts a ground, swimming or fly mount depending on the players location. Because most players have plenty of mounts and companions, and you probably like more than one, the add-on can randomly select mounts/companions depending on the selections in the option menu.

Basic Features:

  • Randomly selects a mount / companion location dependent.
  • Class support for Druids , Shamans and Mages.
  • Automatically summons a companion
  • 3d model preview
  • And many more ! ( Would be a to big list )
In game usage:
There are 3 types of controls.
  • Action buttons (Adds buttons and are move, hide and scalable.)
  • Key binds
  • Slash commands
How it works:
GupPet uses a small database to split the mounts that the player currently has learned. The splitting is based on type (ground, swimming or fly) and speed. When using the auto mount function the add-on will always try to select the fastest possible option, but if you can fly in an area the add-on select the flyable over the ground type. If your are swimming the aquatic will be selected above the other two types.

For the critters GupPet uses a small database to detect if a critter uses a type of reagent to call it, for some types you need a snowball. The add-on detects if you have that reagent with you and if not, the add-on won't select that type of critter.

Language support:
The languages that are currently supported are English , German ( Tnx to Farook at Curse) , Spanish ( Tnx to StiviS at Curse ) and Russian ( Tnx to StingerSoft at WowInterface.) With the none-supported languages the zone detection is not supported and therefore forces the two mount action buttons.

Commands
The start command is '/GP' or '/GupPet'. ( The mounting slash commands don't support abilities with spells )

Known Issues:
If you or a patch clears your WoW Cache folder, you may experience an invalid list of mounts or a failure to select some mounts for your first login after the cache was cleared. Try logging out and then back in.

Its hardcoded atm .. the problem is not how to get it fully dynamic for the underlying code. But how to squeeze it into a good and functional option menu.

Looks great! One thing would make me even happier: If you could have a different mount for each city and/or subzone. From the way it looks laid out, you'd have to hardcode them all in, and that would be troublesome, but perhaps a user input?

Uhm that is atm not possible .. The Critter button can only summon and not dismiss .. Ill build a new option that you can give the button 2 options ( summon and dismiss if one is summoned ).

And of course it would be so blatantly obvious and easy that I overlook it that badly . Actually, I saw those but wasn't sure if they in fact could just be plugged into a macro for easy use. Thanks.

Yes its possible... the available slashcommands are viewable in the mainscreen of the option menu.

I'm working on a new version that can work with druid forms. But its a bit of a pain to get that to work with how the addon curently summons a mount.

First off, I want to commend you on a great mod. I was using something else until I ran into this one and now I'm planning to change over to using GupPet instead.

Secondly, and probably a noob question, is it possible to create a macro to use this mod for randomly calling mounts and pets? I ask because the last mod I used for this created a macro that I used, and while I like the nice icons that GupPet provides, I'd rather have one button on my action bar that take up space on my screen if possible.

can you add a thing so that druids instead of flying mount we can choose to have it just cast flight form if we're in a flyable area?

I would like to say, as far as mount/mini pet selection addons go, this one is by far the best I have used. I like the mount/pet selection section the best.

I do have one suggestion (just for fun).


Suggestion:
How about a mount priority option to the mount page.
It would like the mount on a % base.
The high the percent the more often it get summoned.

Something like the add-on Coconut does but simpler.
As in the selection option would be
High/Mid/Low instead of a shown/selected percent.

Fixed .. There was a typo in the longer slashcommand. /GupPets its now /GupPet again . Also updated the option interface in your client version to display the longer command.
