What is GupPet:
GupPet is an add-on that gives an extension for mounting and calling critters. By a single click it mounts a ground, swimming or fly mount depending on the players location. Because most players have plenty of mounts and companions, and you probably like more than one, the add-on can randomly select mounts/companions depending on the selections in the option menu.

Basic Features:

  • Randomly selects a mount / companion location dependent.
  • Class support for Druids , Shamans and Mages.
  • Automatically summons a companion
  • 3d model preview
  • And many more ! ( Would be a to big list )
In game usage:
There are 3 types of controls.
  • Action buttons (Adds buttons and are move, hide and scalable.)
  • Key binds
  • Slash commands
How it works:
GupPet uses a small database to split the mounts that the player currently has learned. The splitting is based on type (ground, swimming or fly) and speed. When using the auto mount function the add-on will always try to select the fastest possible option, but if you can fly in an area the add-on select the flyable over the ground type. If your are swimming the aquatic will be selected above the other two types.

For the critters GupPet uses a small database to detect if a critter uses a type of reagent to call it, for some types you need a snowball. The add-on detects if you have that reagent with you and if not, the add-on won't select that type of critter.

Language support:
The languages that are currently supported are English , German ( Tnx to Farook at Curse) , Spanish ( Tnx to StiviS at Curse ) and Russian ( Tnx to StingerSoft at WowInterface.) With the none-supported languages the zone detection is not supported and therefore forces the two mount action buttons.

Commands
The start command is '/GP' or '/GupPet'. ( The mounting slash commands don't support abilities with spells )

Known Issues:
If you or a patch clears your WoW Cache folder, you may experience an invalid list of mounts or a failure to select some mounts for your first login after the cache was cleared. Try logging out and then back in.

The are static atm .. but will be configurable in the future

Hey, what about us the poor macro users?

How can we dismiss companions while using a macro? Do we have to create another macro for dismissing it or would that be possible by pressing a key modifier like Shift/Alt/Ctrl?
If you use the code below the macro button will act the same as the addon created one for the companion part. . The modifiers are Shift+LeftButton or RightButton

Hmm its not a bug .. the addon basicly dont save the position. ill check it and ill prolly implement it

Hmm maby in a later stadium when ill extend the Collect Me funtion with filters etc.

Hey, what about us the poor macro users?

How can we dismiss companions while still using our favortite macro to summon them? (/GupPet callcompanion for example). Would that be possible by pressing a key modifier like Shift/Alt/Ctrl?

Oh and a small, tiny, minor bug. If you have turned off the spinning of mounts and companions, the addon doesn't "remember" at what position the mount or companion is left at each /reload of the UI. For example lets say I have stopped the spinning while the mount/companion is turned slightly to the right. When I log off and back on or /reload my UI, the mount/companion is not at the position I had left it but rather is facing me (if you need a picture example to understand better what I'm trying to say let me know).

That was only in version 0.6x .. in version 1.x you can use the macro below to let the button act like the addon auto button:

'Force' Ground Mount

Howdy Folks!

I thought I recalled that holding Shift while using a GupPet macro ("/guppet am") would force ground mount instead of flying, but now it doesn't ... the macro always summons a flying mount, whether Shift is held or not. Holding Shift while clicking the GupPet bar/button itself still forces ground mount.

Am I misremembering?

Thanks for the reply My reasoning is that it's directly related to movement, kinda like druid and shammy travelforms, and share the same mechanics, in a way. Being able to bind it to the smart key is very useful to us mages, because it's only needed when the normal mounts can't be used - when you're falling like a rock Think of it as a falling travelform, if you like. The idea is that when you can mount, you mount, and when you're falling, you slow fall. I wouldn't want you to add blink, for example Pally bubbles are used in all kinds of situations, and an addon wouldn't know if you wanted to bubble or mount, i think. But you're the boss, and your addon is shaping up very nicely.

Hmm slowfall in a mounting addon .. I could send you a special build if you like . But i think its a bit weird to put all spells in ....its like adding a pally bubble to the keybind incase a pally would fall down a hil ?
