Inquest  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.03
by: arnath_vp [More]

NOTE: Inquest WILL be updated for 3.3. It's just going to take me a few days because Blizz neutered the tracker frame in this patch.

Inquest is a quest log and tracker mod.

Please post bug reports and feature requests in my author portal. The links can be found under the Download button in the box on the right hand side.

  • Show quest tags (e.g., G for group, D for dungeon, etc) in quest log and tracker
  • Auto quest completion for quests without reward choices

Quest log features:
  • Move the quest log anywhere on screen
  • Show a message on quest completion
  • Echo quest progress to party chat
  • Play a sound on quest completion, objective completion, or objective progress (supports some standard sounds like "Work Complete!" as well as SharedMedia)

Tooltip features:
  • Show quest information on item tooltips
  • Show quest and achievement tooltips on the tracker

I would love to see an option to have the tracker (except for the buttons) be completely click-through -- then I can have it on screen, taking up as much space as it wants, without losing the ability to click on mobs or turn my camera. I rarely want to interact with the tracker; I often want to interact with the screen. However, even if I turn off all the bound actions for clicks, the tracker still intercepts them.

1 - Some of the tracker quest icons/buttons are tough to click on - not sure why. Only the outer portion of the button is clickable.

EDIT: This only happens when the tracker is unlocked. Locking it fixes the icon clicking issue.

2 - Will quest progress coloring be implemented?

3 - The tracker doesn't want to "grow up" - it seems to be stuck in "grow down" mode. Tried reloading, relogging, etc - nothing.

One small thing, is it possible to route the quest progress info to scrolling text addons (MSBT in my case).

Would like to get rid of the "Objective X/Y" floating text in the middle of the action and route that to my "out of the way" info scroll area in MSBT.

Thats what i get from CC, and if i have that various modules of InQ complains about "library instance of LibQuixote-2.0 not found" despite it being installed stanalone and active.

This however seems to be sorted with the 2.02 version.

I'm experiencing this too, left-clicking a quest in the tracker no longer opens the Inquest Quest Log (with the attached Lightheaded pane, for those using Lightheaded), but instead opens a single useless Blizzard pane of only the single quest clicked.

Thanks for all your work on this great AddOn, and the quick fix for the disappearing quest levels/tags when scrolling!

If there could be a toggle option for Party chat broadcasts to make them more informative so I could finally get rid of TomQuest2 (earlier comment), I could die a happy toon.

Hmm. when downloading with the CC no libs are present at all in the libfolder (theres usually atleast libstub in there) and it complians about not finding LibQuixote-2.0.

I even tried pulling all the libs from the wowinterface download and placed it in the libs folder of the version i got from CC (since i slightly edited it when the hidimng of the quest complete didn't work for me) and it still popped the
LibQuixote-2.0 errors (and yes, i closed wow completely before copying the libs)

Replacing it entirely with the wowinterface file however fixed it for me and stopped all errors.

Also, toggling the "Show a message when you complete a quest" should (and as far as I can tell, does) toggle showing that "Questname complete!" message. Let me know if this still doesn't work for you.
It seems to be hiding the text now.

The errors is not another mod atleast, basicly the wowinterface version works fine, the CC no-lib version refuses work, might be CC thou it seems its having no-lib problems yet again

Might be related to the changes in Blizzard's LoadAddOn() that alot of ppl are having problems with causing libraries to not load properly.

Phanx/Skylinee: Sorry about that, posted a fix in version 2.02. I tried to do a quick fix in the previous version without really testing because I didn't have a char who had enough quests for the quest log to scroll. Apparently in doing so I made it even worse :/

Yinchie: What were you doing when you got that error? Can you tell me if you still have it in version 2.02?

Same error occurs whwn setting quests to be watched or unwatched by shift-clicking them in the quest log. Does not occur when using the "Track" button to watch or unwatch quests. When it occurs, it causes the quest log title list to get shifted all around, and afterward, many quest titles show info for the wrong quest when clicked.

The package on wowace/curse is missbuilt in reguards of "LibQuixote-2.0" it simply can't find it unless its embeded, even thou it is installed as standalone.

And libstub is missing to in the no-lib version.

Even after putting all libs from the wowinterface pack in, it still can't find "LibQuixote-2.0" so something is wrong with the files on wowace/curse.

but if i relace all files it works fine, but i would prefer being able to update with the CC.
