RaidFramesPlus  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.50a
by: Macniel [More]

RaidFrames+ is another set to improve the game experience with the standard interface provided with the latest version of World of Warcraft.

I have resumed this project (which started with the not so popular MacTools) because the current RaidFrames have been improved with Wrath of the Lich King but not as much as I wished (and other RaidFrames looks just deplaced in the default Interface).

What does this AddOn do to the RaidFrames

Currently this AddOn adds ( or improves ) these functions in the raidframes:

  • Debuff-highlightning : the frame of an affected Raidmember will glow in the corresponding debuff color also the Debuff is moved within the UnitButton to save screen estate.
  • Custom Aura-Highlightning : define in a special list in which color a Raidmember should be highlighted if it has a defined aura (by name)
  • Healthtext: over the Health and Manabar there is now a number that display the current Health of this unit
  • 4 Different displaytypes of Health:
    • absolute values,
    • deficite values (mainly for healers),
    • big k values ( values bigger than 1,000 will be represented as thousands) and
    • percent values
    • NEW : custom format (see below)
  • Aggro : the littel dot next to the healthbar is a nice addition by Blizzard, but for me it is hard to distinguish; so the Healthtext will be colored by the current ThreatSituation (Red : tanking; Orange: Winning on Threat; Yellow: hardly tanking)
  • RaidIcons: right next to the UnitButtons thier should be the current raid target icon (lucky charms) displayed
  • Fixed Borders: of Healthbars and Manabars
  • Graphical Interface Configuration Panel
  • Enhanced Healthar display modi:
    • Allways doublesize : this option will hide the manabar and increase height of the healthbar by 200%
    • No Mana: this option will hide the manabar if the unit has no mana as powersource (rogues, warriors, deathknights, non caster-pets, vehicles) and increase the height of the healthbar (in this mode those raidframes looks like xperl in blizzard style)
    • Never : the healthbar is untouched and the manabar is displayed as usual
  • Mass-toggle between debuff and buff display (this is useful during buffing the raid) inspired by lab1702 and his addon RaidPulloutOrganizer
how to configure this AddOn?

The configuration will be done via the interface options, but you have to use
/rfp -d

to mass-toggle between buffs and debuffs

If you have suggestions please post them into comments, bugreports please into my portal thank you.

bugfixes since v2.50a
Added a update_scale call in the configuration panel so the raid frames should be scaled when every you leave the configuration panel
since v2.50
Added a custom-aura highlightning
Raidtargeticon refreshing should occure more often (shoudl eliminate the display bug)

since v2.40.d
Fixed the loading sequence, the default values will now be correctly set if there are no saved variables
Add version string to config panel
Tainting should be now minimized as possible (targetframe are no clickable again)
Updating is now less occuring (increase fps)

since v2.40.c
Updated the internal code base (cleaned up and commentation as well)
Fixed toggle between compact layout and default layout
Fixed some other bugs

Fixed the arrangement function, the background should now behave as expected

since v2.40
Fixed the slider default values ( now THAT should works)
doublesize healthbar feature

since v2.30.1
Fixed the slider default values

since v2.30
Changeable transparency value of all raidframe backgrounds
Scaleable raidframes
Changed documentation style

since v2.20
A new algorithm has been implemented which will now consume less addon memory (but increased cpu cycles) this should do all the stuff more faster and more reliable

since v2.18
RaidTargetIcons function has been fixed now.

since v2.16
RaidTargetIcons implemented, to enable check the Interface options (experimentell)

since v2.12
Graphical configuration panel
Known bug: RaidFramesPlus prevents somehow clicking on the Targetframe of an unitbutton

since v2.10a
Fixed a strange typo (which cause registering events that are not existing thus leading to malfunctioning) : RAID_ROSTER_UPDATE was RAID_ROASTER_UPDATE (mmh tasty)

since v2.10
Improved and localed algorithms, this addon should now no longer impact the performance that much (in idle mode it has a footprint of 21 Kb)
New Feature added: mass-toggle between buffs and debuffs (inspired by lab1702 and RaidPulloutOrganizer)

since v2.00
GetOpt configuration Interface by seebs
3.1 compatibility changed
Bugfixed a strange behavior that result in flickering debuffbackground
Custom Fontstring Format
Optional Files (0)

Hmm, noticed another problem. Is there any possibility to add mind control color to raid frames? It would be nice to maybe see a color on frames for mind control.

when you reload ui horizontal positioning is not staying either. If you changed the layering of the raid icon to be on top of frames the positioning wouldn't be as bad. But, I like your idea of positioning better.

Btw, thanks for doing this project. In time I am sure you will get bugs worked out. Great job so far.

I will possibly repositionate the raid icon on top the name label as centerized you will lose view on the healthbar, below would also be not a good idea because below the healthbar/manabar there can be the Targetframe. to the left and to the right would reach into the neighbored raid frames.

the update functions will now less often be called, this will hopefully increase your fps in raid

you need to be aware that most things that your addon can do (toying with default stuff) CANNOT be done in combat
That one is very strange, I had remove all updating functions (by commenting them out) and had them enabled step by step ; so I have nothing done actually but the tainting amount is now very very very low but everything works now fine.

line 317 and other: "for" limit must be a number (NUM_RAID_PULLOUT_FRAMES isn't set?)

Solution: (NUM_RAID_PULLOUT_FRAMES or 0)

"Allways" typo

double size Healthbars work well, but it seems you should (could?) move them like 1 pixel up and right

Gonna test this out.

I gotta say, I had to go back to Grid for our Yogg 25 first kill. I hate addons but I'll have a very hard time dropping this one.

the background shape should now be laid out as expected, the horizontal checkbutton should also work as expected.

just silly, okay thanks for pinpointing that. now ( and I say now ) this should no longer be a problem

there are 3 "nil" errors in 2.30.1, you're missing "or 1" and "or 0.75" and "or "" "
