oUF Quaiche  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.0-beta5
by: PProvost [More]

About oUF_Quaiche

This is my personal oUF layout. While I appreciate comments and suggestions, this is for MY personal UI so I am unlikely to change anything for you.

Before you ask, there are NO buffs or debuffs shown on the frames. This is by design as I use other addons to manage and display my buffs. You are welcome to change the code if you want them in your layout.

This layout DOES NOT require a separate installation of oUF to function.

Provides the following Unit Frames
* Player
* Target
* Target of Target
* Focus
* Focus Target
* Pet
* Party
* Party Pets
* Raid (only groups 1-5)

Additional Features
* Smart player/pet bar fading
* AFK indication by coloring the player/party/raid names red
* Lots more

Moving the Frame

In addition to making the layout standalone, I have also embedded haste's oUF_MovableFrames code into the layout. To unlock the frames for moving, type

Code:
/oufq
Once you're done moving them, you can relock them by repeating the same slash command. To reset the frames back to their original positions, open the options panel for oUF_Quaiche and remove the points from the list.

Bugs, Suggestions or Comments

Please file any bugs, suggestions or comments as a ticket on my GitHub project page:
http://github.com/PProvost/ouf_quaiche/issues

Credits

Haste of course for his amazing framework that makes all this possible. Tekkub, Caellian, Ammo, p3Lim, and many, many others for tips tricks and pointers along the way.

A Little Help Please

Hi -

First let me say me say how much I enjoy your layout. Ive bounced around quite a bit between layouts and mods and yours is closest I've come the look im trying to get.

I like using your aggro configuration , but i find it gets stuck on aggro and will also show on the target frame as aggro , even on targeting myself. Installing oUF_Banzai helps straighten things out somewhat and doesnt get stuck very much now.

I hid the party and raid frames by commenting out lines 380 - 420 and lines 453 - 465. No errors atm, and I hope I hope nothings broken.

If there's anything I should done differently let me know please.

Thanks in advance

Sorry to ask that here, but I really like your layout, and I'd like to keep it, and keep it updated
So what I'm doing now is using SatrinaBuffFrames for player, pet and target buffs and debuffs. With SBF you can create custom buff frames for just about anything you want, and position them anywhere you want. It simplifies the code for the unit frames, and lets you put these things where you want them (which for me was NOT near the actual player/pet/target frames themselves).

Okay.... I tried it... and I LOVE IT.

I've been running for a week with all buffs/auras/debuffs missing from the player and target frames, instead using SatrinaBuffFrames to create much more configurable buff displays on my UI.

Expect the next release to remove the buffs and debuffs. Apologies in advance to people who want em.

Cools, maybe its just my class color, but it doesnt disappear for me. If it does end up disappearing on my lock or druid I'll move it back up though.

Changed line 233:

self.PowerText = self.Castbar:CreateFontString(nil, 'OVERLAY', 'GameFontHighlightSmallRight')

to

self.PowerText = self.Power:CreateFontString(nil, 'OVERLAY', 'GameFontHighlightSmallRight')

Bolded words are what was changed and the Power text is on the power bar and not on the castbar. Warning, it does show below the castbar but is still visible when casting.

Edit: BTW the layout on the current version for the raid frames is awesome. Thanks for the work.

You mean the player buff/debuff icons in the top right of your screen? If you mean those, then this mod will not remove/hide them. You'll want to look at an Aura modifier like ElkBuffBars, SatrinaBuffFrames or Buffalo2.

#1 - Look near the bottom of the layout.lua file. There is a function called CheckFrameAlphas. Add a line at the top of that function that says "return". That will prevent the auto-hiding of the player-target block.

#2 - Inside the great big UnitFactory method, look for the bit identified by the comment "-- Auras". Just remove or comment out all that code.

#3 - Somewhere around line 243 is a line that says cb:SetStatusBarColor. Change the values there. The parameters are r,g,b,a. Be sure to leave the alpha value pretty low since it overlays the powerbar.

Enjoy!
Thanks for the quick reply mate! Following up:

1. Having spent a few tries adding 'return' into various places, I simply edited the lines to read as follows, it loads without error - I won't run into trouble the below?:

Code:
function oUF_Quaiche:CheckFrameAlphas()
--	if UnitMaxHealth("player") and UnitMaxMana("player") and
--		UnitMaxHealth("pet") and UnitMaxMana("pet") and
--		not UnitCasting("player") and
--		not UnitExists("target") and
--		not InCombatLockdown() and
--		not UnitIsAFK("player") then
--			oUF.units.player:SetAlpha(0)
--			oUF.units.pet:SetAlpha(0)
--	else
--		oUF.units.player:SetAlpha(1)
--		oUF.units.pet:SetAlpha(1)
--	end
end
2. Having commented all the lines under '--Auras' out, I found that it also removed the Buffs/Debuffs for me target, so I (cleverly for someone of my newbness lol) edited the line to read:

Code:
if unit == "target" then
Loads fine, shouldn't course issues?

3. Been fiddling round with the values and for the life of me can't get it the way I want lol - I think its more the fact that the Castbar background is the same as your Class. For example, Im a Rogue and its Yellow, thus hard to read - thoughts?

Thanks!
