Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.

Usage

When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.

Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.

In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality, such as:

Skada Graphs: Adds graph display systems to Skada
Skada DPSplusHPS: Useful add-on for Disc Priests.
Skada Chat Frame Integrator: Integrates Skada in any chat frame.
SkadaScroll: Provides additional options for scrolling the bar displays
Skada Avoidance and Mitigation: Helps tanks benchmark their damage reduction performance via avoidance and mitigation
Skada for Tanks: Adds information useful for evaluating a tank's performance
Guild Skada High Score: Let's you compare a guild's performance.
Skada_FriendlyFire: Display friendly fire damage done by players
Skada Player Score: Generate combined performance scores for players.

Option to only record data when in a raid/group/instance etc (and do not record in BG/arena and when solo) 2.) Option to only show the window when joining a raid or group (hide when solo) If these requests are made allready i'm sorry, but i don't hang around much on Wowinterface, so could you please make a thread on WowAce as it's there the alpha's are released frequently? However a couple of things I would LOVE to see: 1.) Ability to edit what texts show in the bars. Personally I don't care to show my dps or my percent of damage done in the damage done frame. I just want the name and the damage done. 2.) Ability to show mutliple windows. For example, I have one window showing my damage done, and another window showing my threat. This would allow an easy way to give users a reason to drop mutliple addons to just use this one. 3.) I saw it's on your to-do but a background would be nice Seems like a young addon still growing and I really really look foward to seeing it in action, and it's continued improvements. Edit: Also the ability to class color bars would be AWESOME, so you can get an idea of what class is going where if you are a raid leader. I have a couple suggestions you may want to think about. - On the breakdown of hit/crit per ability you may also want to include another level of highest value / average value. - Fubar/Titanbar plugin with basic options like report, reset, and the ability to show a number of values independent of the skada window. For example I would like to set skada to switch to threat during combat, show damage out of combat, but track my dps numerically on fubar. - Report GUI of some sort. Thanks for your work so far, the navigation is intuitive and well thought out. I will be keeping a close eye on the development and look forward to recommending it to friends.

Now I miss only one thing and I would be very happy if it could be implemented so I can get rid of both Recount and Omen. I would love to see a visual and sonic aggro warning feature ala Omen on the threat module when you overaggro. Keep up the good work; your efforts are highly appreciated. kurt1288 A Kobold Labourer Forum posts: 0 File comments: 16 Uploads: 0	I love it! Wayyy better than Recount. There's a very wierd thing that seems to happen though. I'll try to explain it best I can. When I downloaded the newest version(-7), I deleted the two skada files in the SavedVariables folder. Now here's what happens. Basically, it doesn't keep the most recent data upon logging/reloading the ui/etc. I have the meter set to only keep boss data. I went to a target dummy (boss one), reset Skada, and did some damage. Then I logged out and logged back in. Skada now displayed the "Herioc: Target Dummy" under Fights and doesn't display anything under the Total menu. I can reset Skada, log out and log back in, and I still have that fight data. Seems there's a problem with storing and retrieving the data. It kinda sucks because my game will occasionally lock up and require a restart. I did Sarth tonight and had the game lock up almost immediately after I went to Dalaran. Now multiple windows like assessment had would would be nice. remember you can always macro your report if its typically to the same channel.
