Skada Damage Meter  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.8.2
by: zarnivoop, funkydude, oscarucb

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.

Usage

When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.

Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.

In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

Plugins

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality, such as:

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada.
Suggestions and bug reports here. Bug reports in comments will be deleted. There is a page with API information here.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

I've noticed every update seems to make Skada a larger and larger memory hog, currently I'm sitting at 6.5mb with data reset, and 10-13mb with data.

I guess I should first ask, is this normal memory usage? and if not; which modules should I disable for best performance?

I loved how low profile this was earlier in development, it was the main selling point for converting a few guildies from Recount, but somewhere along the line it went from using 200kb with data to +50x that. Don't get me wrong, I love the new additions, but its making me eat my words when I told guildies "screw that recount mem hog!".

LibFail should stop failing in 1.2-11, though I have not had a chance to test it myself.

I have a tweak request to point out.

I use Skada exclusively now (thank you Zarn!) as it has completely replaced Recount and Omen for me...but there is one annoying thing that bothers me.

If you are in a 25 man raid and 1) enable the threat mode, 2) cap the number of bars shown (e.g. 10), and 3) have the bars grow upwards, the mod will show you this (which is the last person on the list):

To fix this, you have to scroll up the list to see who the number 1 person on the list is:

Well, if you have the threat mode as your shown combat mode, you have to manually scroll to the "bottom" of the list (for every new mob you are killing!) to see the the tank's threat and your own. Having the bars grow upwards, with the 15th through 25th person on the threat list showing as default, isn't very useful.

Bottom line, if you have the bars grow upwards, I'd want to see the number 1 person at the very top of the list w/o having to scroll up to find him/her.

Is this tweak even possible?

Thanks for hearing me out!

Hodir Doom!

The latest 'update' was doing great... until Hodir last night! Right when I pulled him, error messages were flying at me. (being the tank, this is no good)

Regardless, I had to disable after the wipe.

The top-level Deaths view shows the order of deaths chronologically.

As a shadow priest I like to see how well I do with that part of my abilities during a raid so that I can at least know that I am not wasting a dps slot. At the moment I can track the normal dps/damange/healing/overhealing but cannot discern how much of the replenishment buff is from vampiric touch/mind blast combo.
There is a Mana Gained mode, part of the SkadaPower module. However, it shows the spells you gain mana from. It does not show how your Replenishment is triggered, if that is what you mean.

Do you think you could set a click through on spells to find min/average/max hit or crit instead of a tooltip?

When I first started using this addon, upon mousever of a certain spell in my damage breakdown, it would show me the average and max hit for each spell on my tooltip, now it seems to have been disabled. Where in the options can I renable this?

I love using this addon over recount/omen, just that little bit has me a bit annoyed. Thanks.
In General options->Tooltips. However, this options was slightly broken in that it was inverted. Fixed in the next release.
