GathererDB WoWHead  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

WoWInterface is happy to announce that we have teamed up with Wowhead and the Norganna's AddOns Gatherer team to provide you with an exclusive downloadable Wowhead database for display in-game by Gatherer.

This addon will provide you with all the information currently in the Wowhead database showing all known locations of herbs, minerals and treasures. Now you can simply load up Gatherer, plug this database into it, and know what can be found in the zone you are in, without having to discover them yourself.

Wowhead will be providing regular dumps of their database to the Norganna team, who will then update the GathererDB Wowhead addon exclusively here on WoWInterface.

How it works
The import procedure is simple and painless. Once you have installed the AddOn and have reloaded the game, ensuring that both Gatherer and GathererDB_Wowhead are activated. When you finally log into the game, follow this procedure to import the new data into Gatherer:
  • Open Gatherer's configuration dialog.
  • Click on the red "Database" tab on the left-hand side of the dialog.
  • Click the import button in the main panel.

Make sure to add GathererDB-Wowhead to your favourites list here on WoWInterface and check back periodically to see if it's been updated, or get an email sent to you whenever they update it if you have those notifications turned on. Any time they update it, just re-download GathererDB-Wowhead and update your local copy.

Help improve the database
If you want to contribute your data back to Wowhead to continue expanding the database, please download and install the Wowhead client (available for both PC and Mac) and just follow the instructions on their site.

About Gatherer
Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining, or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on the minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations clearly marked on each zone's map.

About Wowhead
Wowhead was created with one sole intent: to provide World of Warcraft players with an extensive database and tools to enhance their gaming experience. This website is our contribution to this wonderful game.

Our user community is a big part, if not the biggest part, of Wowhead. Almost all of our information comes from our users, through data uploads from the Wowhead Client, comments on database entries and screenshot submissions! The site also features forums, where users can ask questions, discuss important Warcraft-related topics, recommend and share favorite addons, and much more!

Needs an update for 5.2

There are so many nodes from chests, herbs and mining that I have found that are not in the Database from last October that I have found. An update is much needed, I've been using the WoWhead client for years so everything I find is contributed to the WoWhead server.

Also I was showing my brother this addon and even though we have it all set up to load out dated addons, there is no import button within the Gatherer menu like I have in my game. Possible bug or am I doing something wrong? I'm not new to this addon so I am not sure. The HUD and Slidebar are activated and running.

I hope this didn't get abandoned, it used to be updated quite frequently till MoP.

Updates forthcoming?

It's been quite a while now since the data base went out of date, is there any information regarding when it may be made current again?

Also, while it was working I noticed that occasionally it would seem as if the game stopped recognizing the data base had been installed and synced. Has anyone else experienced similar?

I also cannot see a red database tab...S@thi, how did you fix this? ive installed the add-on correctly with no subfolders in the gathererdb folder. When i click on addons at character creation, i see all of my addons besides gatheredb. The file path i have it in looks like this:
C:\worldofwarcraft\interface\addons\gathererdb\< files >

I also tried just extracting the bare files straight to the addons folder and it didnt show as well. like this:

C:\worldofwarcraft\interface\addons\< files >

What am i doing wrong?

Try the addon "pettracker" it does exactly that.

Once I have imported the DB do I have to keep it in my AddOns folder or can I delete it?

Jade forest mining Nodes

I just did a fresh install of both gatherer and the DB, ran the import in the config, and I still get no mining nodes in Jade Forest.

Add pet tracking?

Is there a way to add pet tracking in this way as well? Adding wowhead pet locations to gatherer? And possibly have it track your own finds as well?

My Gatherer is up to date and so is the GathererDB.
Yeah me too i just don't understand are we doing something wrong or is GathererDB bugging on Mining Nodes?
The Wowhead data may not have been very complete when the current version was built. I will try to post an updated version this weekend.
I don't think it's a data completeness issue. What happened for me is that at some point, all Ghost Iron nodes in Krasarang and Jade Forest disappeared, except for those around Windward Isle. This happened for nodes from all sources, including those I mined myself. Other zones look fine. I deleted Gatherer and its SavedVariables file, reinstalled, and reimported GathererDB, but still had nothing for those specific areas. I do see new nodes appearing in those areas when guildies mine, though.
