GathererDB WoWHead  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.0.2013-06-15
by: Esamynn, dinesh, MentalPower, Nechckn, Norganna, norganna_uploader

WoWInterface is happy to announce that we have teamed up with Wowhead and the Norganna's AddOns Gatherer team to provide you with an exclusive downloadable Wowhead database for display in-game by Gatherer.

This addon will provide you with all the information currently in the Wowhead database showing all known locations of herbs, minerals and treasures. Now you can simply load up Gatherer, plug this database into it, and know what can be found in the zone you are in, without having to discover them yourself.

Wowhead will be providing regular dumps of their database to the Norganna team, who will then update the GathererDB Wowhead addon exclusively here on WoWInterface.

How it works
The import procedure is simple and painless. Once you have installed the AddOn and have reloaded the game, ensuring that both Gatherer and GathererDB_Wowhead are activated. When you finally log into the game, follow this procedure to import the new data into Gatherer:

  • Open Gatherer's configuration dialog.
  • Click on the red "Database" tab on the left-hand side of the dialog.
  • Click the import button in the main panel.

Make sure to add GathererDB-Wowhead to your favourites list here on WoWInterface and check back periodically to see if it's been updated, or get an email sent to you whenever they update it if you have those notifications turned on. Any time they update it, just re-download GathererDB-Wowhead and update your local copy.

Help improve the database
If you want to contribute your data back to Wowhead to continue expanding the database, please download and install the Wowhead client (available for both PC and Mac) and just follow the instructions on their site.

About Gatherer
Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining, or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on the minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations clearly marked on each zone's map.

About Wowhead
Wowhead was created with one sole intent: to provide World of Warcraft players with an extensive database and tools to enhance their gaming experience. This website is our contribution to this wonderful game.

Our user community is a big part, if not the biggest part, of Wowhead. Almost all of our information comes from our users, through data uploads from the Wowhead Client, comments on database entries and screenshot submissions! The site also features forums, where users can ask questions, discuss important Warcraft-related topics, recommend and share favorite addons, and much more!

Updated to support Gatherer 4.0.4.

19 DEC 2010 Updated the node list and have included what data is available for the gigantic changes seen in WoW 4.x.

09 DEC 2009 Updated to the most recent set of nodes and updated TOC for WoW 3.3

18 FEB 2009 Updated to the latest nodes, including those recently renamed in 3.0.8.

29 DEC 2008 Corrected some inconsistencies between GathererDB and Gatherer. Included more node locations.

05 DEC 2008 Corrected issues in the script pertaining to Icecrown, node IDs, and a few more nodes included in the DB.

04 DEC 2008 Corrected Icecrown naming, items should now appear in that zone.

03 DEC 2008a The correct, expanded DB file and other changes.

03 DEC 2008 Added yet more Northrend and other WotLK node locations, formatting of file, et cetera.

As to the silver and gold nodes, those are rare spawns, off of tin for silver and then iron for gold, so they do not necessarily show seperately.

Thanks mate for letting me know. After posting I realised that .

Post Missing Northrend Zones/Gathers

I've updated with the DB and imported it according to the directions but I'm not getting any node information for any of the zones in Northrend. And Gatherer is not marking the any of the nodes I discover myself. After importing the latest DB, none of the zones in Northrend even show up in my Gatherables Report when I open the Gatherer interface in game. I've double-checked that I have all Gatherer addons enabled in game.

A little help please?
I checked today's file to make sure there were Northrend zones included (they are; went to the bottom and ZD is there) then replicated the steps above and cannot confirm the behavior you note. My Gatherables report (that I get to through the side slider thingie) shows all my zones, including Northrend zones (which are at the bottom in mine, not in alpha order; could that be it?) and at least my unskilled ore gathers and Icethorn gathers from this morning seem to be there. Try backing up everything (as Nikk notes, you oughta do that every day, especially if you're updating), removing all the Gatherer folders from Addons, and re-pull everything and try again. If I find anything else in the meantime, I'll update.

Re: Missing Iron & Copper Nodes in 12/4 file

Bandezar, et al,

Just working through the old script that was with the project.

There are more issues yet to be addressed, but the decision was made to provide the interim data, rather than making everyone wait until we have time to attend to all of the issues- which could take a while. The likelihood is pretty high that there will be other issues in the coming versions, especially as we make major changes to the process of obtaining data, et cetera.

Will try to ensure there are no major issues, but, as everyone should already be doing, be sure to make backups of the ..\WorldofWarcraft\WTF folder- daily, via automated means- just in case.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

In the meantime, if you globally replace [735] with [1735] in the DB_WowheadData.lua in the distro, it imports the iron.

Post Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Still no good ...

The file from earlier in the week was in a bad format (see Bug Report on same, with temporary fix) but this issue is now resolved with today's file.

Investigating today's report of missing iron/copper nodes (preliminarily, they DO exist in Wetlands, but presently flying to other areas to determine.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Still no good ...

*** EDIT*** I downloaded the GathererDB_Wowhead_04_Dec_2008.zip file posted today, and this one imported just fine. So, not sure what the issue was with the release from yesterday that worked for others. Though, it does appear to need Slidebar available to import.

Try blowing away saved variables for Gatherer in ..\World of Warcraft\WTF\

And did you delete the Gatherer/GathererDB folders in Interface\Addons?
I renamed the Gatherer files in WTF\...\SavedVariables, and no change. Icon greys out ... nothing else happens.

Yes, I deleted the "GathererDB_Wowhead" in Addons before unzipping the new one.

If you did disable all addons except Gatherer and the DB you probably disabled Slidebar too. That library is apparently part of Gatherer and if it's disable causes problems. Try reenabling it. I ran into this myself since I've never seen a mention of it anywhere, but upon looking at what Gatherer actually installed found Slidebar.

I reinstalled Gatherer, enabled Gatherer, GathererDB, and Slidebar. Same result ... except for the Gatherer icon in the Slidebar also goes grey with the minimap button.

I notice there's no longer a Slidebar folder under Addons\Gatherer\Libs ... I seem to recall there being one. Could this be part of the issue?

What we have seen, in the past, was that the import did not work for those without the HUD active.

It should not really matter- but that is one thing we have heard before.
While this was not directed at my issue, I will note that I also had the HUD active.

Everfrost Chips are sadly missing in the Database though Gatherer has an option for showing them; implementing those would be great

Re: Re: Re: Re: Stupid question...

Hard to say, since it seems to have eaten the entire DB now. I wasn't messing with it at the time, I was raiding... but I had to reload WoW and now it's all gone.

But, prior, I was missing ALL the nodes I gathered, from every zone, except for the handful I'd gathered after importing the DB. Besides that handful, the only source I had listed was the imported DB... nothing from my guildies.

Khymaera,

Where, though? Is this just Icecrown or the entire database?

Also.. not quite understanding what you mean. Do you still have nodes with your character's name attached, if so, which ones? What type do you think are gone, the same type or different ones?

Thank you,

Nikk

Edit: To narrow this down, check just the sort by source check box and then scroll through. Have gone through and done the import numerous times with this version and the previous ones, for testing- and it's never removed any nodes...

If this is only Icecrown, there could be an issue with the map != the zone token, but waiting on some feedback before we can say for certain.

Edit 2: Okay, try the new file, that should show the database information for IceCrown. As to your other data issue- no ideas thus far, let us know the answers to the questions, up above. Thank you!

Folks,

This version should correctly display the data for IceCrown Glacier.

Happy Gatherering,
