DevlinUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5-r2
by: Devlin [More]

*** BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION NOTES BELOW ***

DevlinUI is now updated to 4.2!

The UI in action - 25 man raid
http://youtu.be/DaxHrV0lFZw?hd=1

NOTE: This UI is designed to work based on my own preferences and conditions first and foremost, which means

Resolution: 1920x1080
Situation: PvE (10/25-man Raid)
Role: Rogue/DPS
Using this package under different conditions may or may not result in a horrible looking UI and/or require additional configuration.

NOTE: If you are not using this UI for a Rogue, you should active ClassTimer and deactive ChronoBars in the Addon listing at the character screen. I have not set up ChronoBars for any class other than Rogue. You can easily set up ChronoBars by yourself if you know what to do though.

I will not include any addons that I do not use myself. Requests of this sort will be discarded.

Issues
  • Updating PhanxBuffs manually will most likely result in a different look than the one included in this package.
  • As this UI is setup for rogues in particular, there may be some power (holy power, runes etc) and/or pet issues for the other classes.
  • If you come across an error or issue please let me know by posting in the addon comments.

Installation notes
  1. Backup (really; Backup! Backup! Backup! Backup!) your existing WTF and Interface folders in your WoW directory, then remove them.
  2. Unzip/unrar DevlinUI5-r2.rar and place the containing Fonts, Interface and WTF folders directly in your WoW directory so it looks like this.
    \World of Warcraft\Interface
    \World of Warcraft\WTF
    \World of Warcraft\Fonts
*** Remember to do the following steps for EACH account/character you want to have this addon-pack installed for ***
  3. Open the WTF -> Account folders, and rename the "Account name" folder to your own account's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  4. Open the "Account name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Server name" folder inside to correspond to your server's name.
    (example: Outland)
  5. Open the "Server name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Character name" folder inside to correspond to your character's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  6. Launch the game.
  7. When in the game, it will look like a total mess. Don't worry, it's fixed with one simple command!
  8. Type:
    /reflux switch DevlinUI
*** Please note that this is CaSe-sEnSiTiVe! ***
  9. Enjoy the game!

I am not particularly fond of getting messaged in-game regarding the UI. However, if you absolutely must get a hold of me you can probably find me at any of the following locations:

Timers

First of all, thx for UI! It's just great !

I have got only one question. Could you please explain me how can I add for example Mangle or Blade Flury to your timers from Chronobars? Probably I need to use the ClassTimer for this but I don't know what to do step by step :/

Thx for any help!

Chatter

Hey, I really like your UI, I did tweak it a bit no offence, I liked my grid slighty bigger for my healing alts and I changed the texture of pitbull, but apart from my personal preferences this is the perfect UI.
I have one issue though, with Chatter I cannot find the option to enable you to be able to click on links, shift click on people to get character information ( Name class level guild zone), nor achievment links which I think would probably be in the same option but I am unsure as to where. Also I cannot right click on people for whisper/invite/ignore/report spam et cetera.

I was wonderin', how can I enable the default Blizzards Raid Frames? I did turn off Grid, but default frames didn't appear.

And how can I turn off those damned "Tips of the raid"? It's annoyin' as hell!

I'm unable to edit or delete the Chronobars player group you have that tracks buffs and it also seems to bleed over to new profiles.

Any idea how to fix this?

I installed this UI with no issues, and I've tweaked to my liking (No offence intended, I like where Blizzard frames are placed.)

My only major concern is how does this affect the processing performance? My machine is capable of running every game in high (Or ultra if there is an option.,) and ultra in WoW. I've disabled a few addons (Mainly Xloot.)

There's also a small niggle that's bugging me slightly. Its the towers for the 'World PVP,' How do I move them? They overlap where my player frame is (I do the occasional Sethekk Halls mount run.)

Anyway, i just wanted to show my gratitude for having a gorgeous UI.
Hey there, and thanks!

As with all addons, this package uses processing power. It shouldn't be of any concern if you have a decent computer (works fine on my 5 year old PC). One of the main memory hogs is Recount, so if you're having troubles with your performance, that would be the first you should disable and see if the performance improves.

The element you're looking to modify (towers) is controlled by Chinchilla; right-click the minimap in-game. I'm not exactly sure of the specific name of that element as I'm not in game atm, but you can change its position in the settings of Chinchilla.

This is also apparent when in Arena. The "Players" remaining text is over my unit frame. I also can't seem to figure out how to move the enemy arena unit frames (They're stuck to the left hand side of the screen.)
As I don't PvP I'm not sure about this one. I'm not using any addon that - to my knowledge - modifies the Arena Unit Frames. You can once again try checking the settings in Chinchilla, or the default in-game settings in the Interface options. Should be able to move the "players remaining" text in Chinchilla though.

I cant seem to get the boxes that surround the chat box, omen and grid to line up...and im not sure how to move them. Here is what my screen looks like:

So...its close...but id like the frames to match up. I have tried adjusting the UI scale, but it doesnt seem to help. I mean, everything else looks fine...and the middle one with the action bars looks fine also. So, not sure where the issue happened, but any help would be appreciated.

Also, a couple of other things I need:

I want to move the cast bar to a different location, but im not sure how. I tried to move it through Bartender...and it doesnt work. So, im not even sure what addon the cast bar is associated with.

Second, I like my tooltips to be on my cursor. Your UI has them set to be on the right side just above the frame. I use an addon called TipTop which is supposed to anchor the tooltips to your cursor...but whatever setting you have in this UI is overwriting this addon, because even with it enabled it still wont appear on the cursor.

Thanks!
The main reason the UI doesn't look as intended is due to your resolution not being the same as the UI's. You shouldn't change the UI scale, but instead just drag the frames in place, as there is not much that differs from your resolution to mine (1920x1200 vs 1920x1080).

The cast bar is modified by Quartz; /quartz in-game.

You modify the tooltip in TipTac; /tiptac in-game. You'll find what you're searching for in the Anchor settings.

Hope that helps!

Hehe

Thankfully for you this is easily fixed!

Go to the MSBT settings: /msbt

If you want to disable all sounds:
--> General
--> Uncheck "Enable Sounds"
Done!

If you want to only disable that specific sound:
--> Triggers
--> Scroll down to "Low Mana!"
--> Click the crossed-over screwdriver and wrench icon (settings)
--> In the "Sound" dropdown list, select "None"
Done!

Hope that helps!

Make sure you double check that you have followed those instructions correctly.

Also make sure that you install this UI without any pre-existing addons installed, ie; backup your Fonts, WTF and Interface folders and remove them from your WoW folder before installing this UI.

Lastly make sure that you type the reflux command exactly as I described it, as it is case-sensitive:

/reflux switch DevlinUI

If done correctly the UI will work!

Are you sure that you haven't forget to rename the WTF folders?

Open the WTF -> Account folders, and rename the "Account name" folder to your own account's name.

(example: Devlin)

Open the "Account name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Server name" folder inside to correspond to your server's name.

(example: Outland)

Open the "Server name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Character name" folder inside to correspond to your character's name.

(example: Devlin)
