MetaHud - Nuckin Branch  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

MetaHud - Nuckin Branch is a Heads Up Display Add-on for World of Warcraft 3.0 and above. It is a continuation of the original MetaHud by MetaHawk which was discontinued after Patch 2.4.3.

Although MH-Nuckin is a continuation, it isn't the same. MH-Nuckin is focused on remaining encapsulated as a self sustaining Add-on without requiring other libraries. As thus, its feature set differs from MetaHud's.

As of v30100-8.0, MetaHud - Nuckin Branch no longer includes a cast bar. I suggest using my stand alone cast bar called Circle Cast.

MetaHud - Nuckin Branch Features: (as of v30100-8.0)

  • Curved Verticle Health, Mana, Rage, Energy, and Runic Power bars for Player, Target, and Pets.
  • Target's Target Name and Health Bar.
  • Reskinnable Bar Backgrounds.
  • Death Knight rune support.
  • Movable Death Knight Runes.
  • Skinnable Death Knight Runes.
  • Target Buffs (40) and Target Debuffs (40).
  • Countdown timers on all Target Auras.
  • Movable and Resizable Target Auras.
  • Target range indicator.
  • Target guild display.
  • Resting, PvP, Combat, Leader, and Looter icons.
  • Text based Threat Meter.
  • Unique HUD texture that are exclusive to MetaHud - Nuckin Branch.
  • In Game graphical configuration tool to make MetaHud look and feel how you want.
  • Savable Profiles per Warcraft Account.

Cool, I'm not sure what there is to support but cool . I won't have a DK till the 13th sooo

I was on my rogue earlier and checked the numbers in MetaHud against X-Perl and the blizz UI and they are correct for the time in which they tick. and are never too far off. From my understanding on the UI/Macros Forums is that UNIT_MANA and UNIT_ENERGY events only flag at the old tick rates. I have been digging in X-Perl for their solution, but have come up short so far.

This is great news.

I can only agree on what you say, I am no LUA expert but I considered fixing it myself, until I browsed the code and realized the amount of complexity involved.

Good luck with it, I am eegerly awaiting your DK support, as MetaHud has been my favorite mod for ages, and I have missed it since I got into the Beta.

I will definately level another DK once the game hits retail, so this change is on top of my wish list.

If people explained to me what they wanted when they say "DK support" i might be able to help . But as of right now i have no clue and have not played a DK yet

Nice work. Maybe I am missing it but is there an option to turn it off if health is full or set the opacity to 0?

Replace the 115th line in MetaHud.lua with

powertypes = {"mana", "rage", "focus", "energy", "happiness", "Runes", "Runic Power"},

instead of the current

Without this change, MetaHud does not show the Death Knight's runic power. In fact, the Hud doesn't do anything at all. Instead, every possible bar and icon is being displayed at the same time, while throwing the error

This change doesn't add runes ofc...

As for the update-problem with the powerbars in general (Mana, Energy etc. in Ticks instead of realtime updates)
This problem has already been solved by Zasurus and Nukthem here:

Pay attention to the lines 404 to 410 of his fixed version:

UpdateFrame:Show();

Works like a charm, even with runic power! =)

I applied the changes to your 30000-4-Version and upped it:

- Runic Power now displaying correctly (still no Runes though)
- Smooth Mana-/Energy-Updates (thx to Zasurus/Nukthem)

EDIT: Re-upped the file, in forgot to apply the changes to the text-fields as well. Not much use for an updating bar, if the corresponding text keeps on refreshing in ticks. ^_^

That did use to be default behavior in MetaHud.

Those do not appear to work for me. I have set it at 0 and at 1 and neither one changes the alpha at all.

NVM I had to relog for it to take effect.

Yes, default used to be that, i personally like to always see my bars, so i made 0.5 the default.

Left clicking the target's name will give you the target frame's menu and right clicking target's name will give you the player frame menu.

This functionality is on my list of changes to be made eventually
