To fix the issue on the character I had logged on with, I deleted the Macaroon settings files for that character. They can be found in this folder:
...\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\Realmname\Charactername\SavedVariables
After that I had to re-create all my bars (for that character), but at least everything worked.

I tried reposting the ptr fix file over the top of the updated mac extras files, and I am still unable to create new menu or bag bars for the character I logged into before doing the ptr fix.

The characters that I didn't log into until after the ptr fix were good, my interface was preserved by following the guides posted by other readers and my menu and bag bars are fine. The only char still having bag and menu problems is the one I was too eager to start up on.

*Edit: As an information item, I enabled the Blizz main bar and of course this works, so I have menu and bag functionality even though it's way too big and I can't move it.

the problem is the file posted is not the updated files. the best you can do atm is get your bars back with the PTR file. DL and Extract the file listed here, then do the PTR one over it and you should be good to begin creating/restoring your bars back to normal... hope maul gets back soon to fix all this...

how long does it take for file to be available? cant DL 30000.12

Does not work in 3.0.8. All my bars disappeared, including bags and menu bars, and I cannot create new.

im having this problem too - how did you fix it ?

Does anyone know how to reset the bag and menu bars? Also how to create them? There is a bag bar that I cannot get a hold of and I'd like to reset it. Help please.

Edit: Nvm fixed it.

Although on the version on the front page it says its Version 30000.12, the file name I've downloaded displays the version as 30000.11. Is this simply a typo?

This is very sad to hear because it looks like the macaroon mods may have been abandoned. Nobody has seen or heard from Maul in almost a full month, and with a relatively new addon that would need frequent updates during its launch, you'd hope for more response than that.

He may be busy with holiday plans, etc. but in the past, he's always popped in to say 'very busy, cant work on now. will work on soon.' but this month nothing - he's just gone.

If Mac doesn't work in 3.0.8, it may be up to us to release fan updates to scotch-tape this addon.

This mod causes an error on the 3.0.8 PTR.
The error ends up occurring in Macaroon itself in macaroon_bars.lua line 1061 where it's trying to create a frame using the SecureHandlerShowHideTemplate. It seems that this handler has been removed or renamed or something because it's saying that it doesn't exist.

Ive noticed that the keyring button which should be right next to my game menu button has disappeared. I have the latest version of Macaroon and Macaroon Xtras but it still doesnt appear. Any help?

I thought maybe this was already a feature because in the sample screenshot, there's a small 10 listed on the backpack. I can't find this feature anywhere so if it exists, I could use a few pointers on finding it.

If it is not, is it possible to add a display to the bag bar that lists the # of empty slots?

I was scanning previous posts looking for a solution to this problem as I also, did the same thing....I found a solution to it....i fixed mine like this:

/mac create loot

then adjust it using the button edit button.

Save maul a reply...lol
