Spirit of Redemption stance

I have a problem with my Holy priest.

When I die, and go into Improved Death (i.e. Spirit of Redemption). Ion seems to think it is a new Stance and changes my bar to a new stance bar that is empty.

Normally, if I didn't want my bar to change when my Stance changed, I would just un-check "Stance" in the Bar States tab of the configuration window for that bar. But when I am in Holy spec, the "Stance" toggle is grayed out. (Which suggests that Ion doesn't think there is a stance that my Holy priest could go into. But when I do die, Ion says "Oh Crap, you can go into a different Stance...here...have an empty bar").


This is a screenshot of the Bar States configuration tab when in Shadow Spec (I have circled the important bits in red). You can see that the Stance toggle is active and I can click it and toggle it off or on to enable or disable bar changes when stance changes (i.e. shadow form)



This is the same screenshot but when in Holy Spec. It may be a little hard to see but the Stance toggle IS greyed out and is unclickable.




Is there a way to disable Stance Bar change form happening when I go into the Spirit of Redemption stance?
or do I have to die every time I want to add/change/remove a spell from that stance bar?

p.s. I did search for the answer (had to use google because I couldn't find a way to search this forum directly but only found question from back when this addon was Macaroon and couldn't make heads or tails of the answers anyways.

VehicleUI in combat -- SOLVED

I think I've figured out what's going on with the VehicleUI in combat. It seems Ion has tainted the built-in actionbars, so when the VehicleUI tries to show in combat, it just throws a bunch of protected function errors and bails. The culprit is the function ION:ToggleBlizzBar() in Ion__Core.lua (line 1705). It seems that this function tries to unregister the blizzard bars for events and such when hiding, and re-register/setup them when showing, and this process leads to the tainting. By commenting out most of the lines in this function, the taint issue went away and I was able to enter a vehicle in combat with no problems.

The resulting function looks like this:

I use BetterExtraActionButton http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/betterextraactionbutton. you can toggle when the button shows, can remove the art from around it, skin the button with Masque and move the button where ever you want.

I tried using the Combat state button in the button configuration panel, but all that does is hide the bar when you go into combat. As an example, when i have a state bar, like stealth, i have to go into stealth to populate the bar for that state. How do you populate the Combat state, considering that the editing interface shuts down upon entering combat. If we could figure that out, then all we need to do is leave the main state blank, and populate the combat state.

As of now, though, I am still in the same boat as you. Along those same line, i saw a thread about click-through buttons. unclicking up-clicks and down-clicks used to work, as previously stated, but that doesnt work anymore. Anyone know a way to set buttons up to be click-through?

What if you just set up the bar how you want it to look in combat, then go into the button editor and copy the macro from the home state to the combat state?

Here is a way to have a bar be shown in combat and hidden when not.
1. Create an action bar and set it up as normal.
2. While still in the bar config mode select the bar you want to set.
3. In the command prompt type: /ion vis combat 0
-The chat window should display
0: No Combat - Hide
1: Combat - Show
4: Exit out of the bar config mode and the bar should disappear and only show in combat.
Note: Make sure that you Do Not have "Combat" checked in in the bar states.

Actually it seems there was one of sorts. But I think i might be best to just starty over anyhow. And I found it in the forum after I started anew.

Not atm as far as I've seen but you should be able to make one for yourself I believe. I'd have to look into if the option has been implemented yet or if you could just go into the .lua to add the necessary lines.

Verified this week, I was able to get Amber Shaper Un'Sok to possess me, and the bars/buttons came up and worked fine. Props to kballard for this one, looks like I'll be able to keep using this a little longer.

Anyone can tell what actually is override state for bars?Namely i was doing Amber Shaper on LFR and got possesed but my bar with combat/vehicle/possesed didnt react at all.So i checked forums and saw some mention of override state so when my guild came to battle Amber Shaper since i was afraid i wouldnt see any bars when i get possesed i made new bar with state override and it worked for it.
