Restoring from Profile does not work so I have to manually reassign the button(s). Sometimes a whole group (not necessarily on the same bar) of buttons will lose their assignments. This is a little challenging when in combat and annoying anytime
The only times I've had buttons go ? are when:
1. I respec and don't get the same spell/ability as before.
2. I train a profession to increase the max skill lvl, ex. Expert->Artisan.

Sorry I can't really help.

No news from Maul yet?

AHHHH but you DID really help... that is the issue... if I level and add rank, the first time I click a re-ranked button, they all vanish and have to be re-populated.... At LEAST I can control this..... Many thanks

New Ranks

As far as new ranks of spells and abilities go, you'll notice upon editing the macro button of an ability you drag onto your toolbar, it will have a "#autowrite" suffix at the top of the macro, and as soon as you click the text field to edit said macro button, it disappears, effectively removing to auto-write function that Macaroon is doing. Make sure your macro is as follows for all your abilities:

e.g. for Frostbolt

Code:
/cast Frostbolt
If you SIMPLY want to cast the MAX rank of the spell, that's all you ever need. Now if you want to downcast (cast a lower rank) you'll need to specify it in the Macro.

e.g. to cast Frostbolt Rank 2 you would specify:

Code:
/cast Frostbolt(Rank 2)
So, in closing, all you ever need is "/cast SPELLNAMEHERE" and that's it to create a purely simple macro button for the max rank of whatever skill. As long as Macaroon's "#autowrite" filter has been removed from the macro after dragging and dropping, you should have no problems whatsoever. I know I don't.

*EDIT*
I figured I would include this option, as an alternative to manually editing all of your ability macro buttons, you can simply download and install this mod: "Learning Aid" what it does is add a draggable window to your game screen whenever you learn a new ability, utilizing this tool you can simply drag the new ranks of spells as you learn them right to where you need them.

Hidden "buttons" for hotkey use only

I would like to create long (< 255 char) macros with Macaroon in order to assign a hotkey to them, but otherwise, I want the button to be invisible on the UI. The "stored buttons" pane seems ideal for this, but for two issues.

The first appears to be a bug in that I can assign a hotkey to the stored button and it works great, except when I relog back into the game, the hotkey assignment doesn't function. The hotkey text is still listed on the button and as soon as I reassign the hotkey, it starts working again... until the next login.

The second is that when adding buttons to a new button bar, it grabs them from the stored button pane which, if I have set buttons there for hotkey macros (see above), really messes that up. I was hoping that adding buttons to a bar would create buttons rather than move them from the stored button pane.

Any ideas?
I have this same problem with the possession bar. Sometimes it comes up, sometimes not. I can't tell why it does or doesn't work right.

Also, when it does come up, I have no way to exit the vehicle. (Clicking on the buff doesn't dismount me.)

First off /run and /script do the same thing. They're just aliases for each other. /run is just shorter so I prefer it.

Second your post is wrong.

/script VehicleExit()

is correct. Note the case. It matters.

I noticed alot of talk about this, so I wanted to scream this at the top of my lungs:

YOU DO NOT NEED A MACRO TO LEAVE A VEHICLE, IT HAS A KEYBINDING WITH BLIZZARDS DEFAULT UI. IT IS DEFAULTED TO NUMPAD 5

On another note, its mildly concerning that entering a possession state in combat/in flight form(as several quests mandate) still does not properly change your bar. Such an issue, especially the first, makes it impossible to use macaroon on any raid fight that uses possession. If this is complicated and can't be addressed immediately, at least a reply is in order!
Just a warning, on some keyboards this only works if the num lock key is on which, being autorun, for me has a 50% chance not to be at any particular time.

Ahoy Macarooni's.

The only issue I've been having with the mod as of late is the possession bar + traveler's tundra mammoth.

I used to have a problem with the possession bar when I had its states set to either possession or pet. I dunno, maybe it became confused as to which one it should use at any given time. Problem solved itself when I removed the pet state and set strata to high.

The bar shows up just fine when it is supposed to now; HOWEVER, it will not display when I use the traveler's tundra mammoth. I have to manually switch to possession to get those skills to be available; not that those skills are entirely important, but booting vendors so people can ride is something I do from time to time. Outside of that, any word on having a built-in /script VehicleExit() option on the possession bar?

Something else weird I've noticed. If by some unhappy chance I am disconnected mid-combat, my bars scramble their location -- some won't even display. A simple /reloadui will fix their alignment, but it is a concern just the same.

I've had this problem a number of times now and haven't seen it addressed so far...

Most of the times, whenever I drag a spell to my mac bars, it will autowrite the macro as "/cast [target=player]() Spellname()" which is slightly annoying, causing these spells to be cast on myself. What I do is simply edit it to "/cast Spellname", but it becomes tedious when redoing UI's, or after a respec, etc. I even had to use my Crusader Strike during an encounter using the spellbook open after a respec and once I got in combat, because the autowrite wouldnt let me use it off the actionbar (I'm obviously an invalid target for such ability)...

This has been quite a pain by itself but isn't much of a big deal since it can always be corrected out of combat...

This leads me to........ The Prophet Tharon'ja. I've never been able to use abilities 2, 3 and 5 since I'm guessing the same issue applies. They're autowritten to cast on myself, and the Bone armor (ability nº 4 IIRC) is the only one I can use.

Any help appreciated!

Are you sure you haven't accidentally set the bar to target yourself?
In the Bar editor you can switch page and select some different things a bar should target. I'd advise you to check if you have done so.

I think it might even be possible to configure the buttons targets individually as well, didn't check for that though.

I know this whole Exit Vehicle has been done to death, but would it be possible for macaroon to automatically generate a Exit Vehicle button in the last action button of your possession bar ... if you are in a vehicle?

Said it two pages ago, ill say it again.

The default blizzard keybindings give you an option for leaving a vehicle, and it is defaulted to Num Pad 5.

I'm more concerned with the lack of replies since wrath from Maul for an addon with several functionality problems.

This was something thought of as well, if it was possible to make the last button in posses an exit Vehice and last button in Petbar a dismiss pet button.
I haven't seen Maul around for some time to ask him if it is possible though.

Meanwhile I've started research in the art of macros and scripts.
