Ion is still in beta, which means it is not complete yet, and also that it will have some bugs. (not as many bugs as if it were still in alpha, though!)
I'm aware of that, I was just pointing out that a key aspect of the addon (for me) isn't implemented yet, possibly hoping for a response stating if there's any plans to implement it again or if that feature simply won't be put into Ion at all (in which case I would have to find another actionbar addon.)

I just found it a bit strange that the storage area didn't have a higher priority when work on rewriting the addon started, which made me worry that it might have been intentionally left out with no plans to implement it at all.

Appreciate the response though.

This is a bug. I may upload a small update with that fix.
Thank you for the quick reply. I look forward to the finished product, but in the mean time, thank you for all the work you do with this addon. I honestly do not know what I would do without this bar mod.
Looks like this update was never uploaded. Could you maybe tell us what lua file to edit with what code to fix it?

I still run http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/betterextraactionbutton, which continues to work fine and cured the problem (for me at least).

Regarding extra action button

So, long time user (since Trinity) I cant live without these bars! ><

I managed to accidentally delete my extra special action bar that appears during certain fights and quests e.g Ultraxion, and I cant figure out how to create a new one. Its super painful coz its not just a single profile as all my toons share the same setup now with Ion. Ive managed to key bind the extra button through the regular key bind options but it sucks when im doing something for the first time, be that a boss of a quest and i don't even realise I am supposed to be using it.

Anyone able to help me get this button back on its Ion bar please?

Also, Maul thanks for the great work. Im really hoping the next version has separate profiles and Im happy to wait for it until you get all the cool stuff sorted out.

<3
I'm also having trouble with this. Extra action button is not showing when ION is enabled (I know it's from ION since I narrowed it down), and it's also the case with special mechanic stuff (like in valley of the four winds when you have to break wook, planks and rock with the master pandaren. The energy special mechanic does no show up.)

Extra action button is easy to keybind and deal with it, but like it's been said, you can't know IF there is an extra action to push during the fight.

Anyone knows a way around it?

Macro Does not Change

For some of the people who have macro issues (i.e. it is not using the correct macro even though you changed it)
I found out that the Macro name is very important if you drag it over from the macro spell book.

If i have two identically named macro's (example ww for water walking on my shaman and ww for whirlwind for my warrior) I noticed it will be using the first named ww macro in ion.

So when you have problems with macros not working as intended, make sure they are all named differently. as soon as I changed the name of the macro all was well. I am not sure if that is a Ion or a Blizzard Issue

I'm having similar problems, text edits don't seem to take effect. However, if I drag a spell from the spellbook it does work. But I can't edit it afterwards.

And its just *some* of my toons.

The good news is: I'm glad its not just me :-)

I'm running the github version of Ion, for what its worth.

I'll get off my butt and submit a ticket.
After some testing, I think I've figured out what's going on...

This seems to be a dual spec issue. The character I'm having trouble with is my main healer, but I've been playing him in SPEC:2 since Pandaria became available.

If I shift to Spec:1, I can edit my bars without issue.

If I shift to Spec:2, then it gets weird...

So, each bar can be set with a Dual Spec setting. If the bar is set to Dual Spec mode=Enabled, then when I click the button, the macro that activates is the macro for Spec:2. If the bar has Dual Spec mode=Disabled, then when I click the button I get the macro for Spec:1...

However, If I go into button edit mode and right click the button, I get the text for Spec:2 either way. So, I can edit the code for Spec:2, but when I click the button it's still going to cast the macro for Spec:1. So, it looks like the editor isn't working right in figuring out which spec to use.

I guess for now, I'll just have to enable dual spec on all my bars and copy my macros over. It's a shame, because all of my macros are designed to work in both specs using the [spec] option... Here's an example:

Code:
/cast [equipped:Fishing Pole] Fishing
/stopmacro [equipped:Fishing Pole]

/startattack [spec:2]

/cast [@mouseover,dead,help][dead,help] Resurrection
/cast [@mouseover, help] [help] [@focus,help] Greater Heal;
/castsequence [spec:2,noform] reset=6 Shadowform, Rip
/cast [spec:2,nochanneling] Mind Sear(); [spec:1] Smite
/cast [pet] Shadowcrawl
... So, yeah... um... Maul? hurry back, buddy...

Corrupt data...

I think my Ion data is corrupt for one of my characters...

If I enter edit mode and change the macro code of one of my macros, and hit TAB, it's saving the text changes, but the button is still using the old macro.

I confirmed this by trying to edit a new blank button to add a macro to it, and it wouldn't save that at all. I loaded a different character and that one had no problems saving changes to a macro.

Anyone else seen this? I'd hate to have to wipe out and completely rebuild this character's macros (again!), as it's my main.

Sigh...

Last time Maul quit WoW (or maybe just quit dealing with AddOns) he was kind enough to let us know. I'm sure if he decides to spend his free time in some other way he will let us know again.

I hope that is true since public github hasnt been updated for 21 days.
No offense, but we have seen recent posts from Maul that he's working on it. Since I'm sure he uses this add-on himself, I'm sure he's personally motivated to get it finished. It's an intricate add-on that does some fantastic things in a way that no other add-on provides for, and he's taking the time to rewrite it from the ground up. Already there are things in Ion that are far more intuitive than they were in Macaroon, so the direction he's going should definitely be applauded.

We all know this was a massive undertaking on his part, and that what's so far working is working well is a testament to his hard work.

In short, we have no reason to believe otherwise, so "I hope that is true..." style comments aren't really productive. I appreciate the work he's put into this add-on in all of its forms, and I am very glad he's still here with us working on it. Far too many add-ons of this calibre get lost to authors no longer playing and no longer developing. Let's cut him some slack and understand that life happens between these moments of programming and Warcraft!
you totally misjudged my comment.I apsolutly like work Maul has been doing so far-I am old fan and user of Trinity,Macaroon,Ion.And i know it must be a lot of work to contiune to support addon like Ion is.I was just trying to " provoke" Maul to give us little bit more info what is state of Ion now.
