Ion Action Bars  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: Lithium 3.1.2a
by: Maul, Jrosk, SLOKnightfall, Soyier

Introducing Ion - Version 3 "Lithium"

Ion is a macro-based action bar addon. It can stand on its own or supplement any other action bar addon or even the default Blizzard UI.

Modules:
Ion comes with 4 modules that can be used for a full featured action bar experience. These modules are optional, but it is highly recommended that they be used for the best experience.

Features:
  • Ion features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a keybinder extreme? Use the button storage area for all your macros/keybindings! No buttons on screen needed!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, importantly, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Ion contains a graphical bar editor that allows for a nearly endless customization of bar shape, size, orientation, etc, that has neither limitations on max number of bars nor the number of buttons per bar. Further all of the options found in the graphical bar editor can also be set using the below command structure:

Commands:
Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

Lithium 3.0 - Update to WoW 7.3
-Bug fixes
-FAQ rework
-PlaySound fix

Helium 2.1.1 - Bug fixes

Helium 2.1 - Update to WOW 7.2
- Removed legacy morph spell code
- Removed legacy trap launcher code
- Code clean up
- Reworked Rogues stealth bars to use the stance setting. This should allow them shadow dance to change bars correctly. This change will probably result in lost old style stealth layouts.
- Added a Shadow Dance bar state for Subtlety rogues when using the "Stealth" bar state. This allows for a separate Stealth and Shadow Dance bars to be used. Users can opt to remap the Stealth bar to the Shadow Dance state if they want a single bar state
- Fix for issue where dragging a item to the bar when the editor was open would overwrite the home state macro.
- Fixed issue where macro text would not clear between bar states.
- Fixed some issues with flyouts not generating correctly.
- Added flyout macro generator to the button editor window.

22.7, according to the changelog. But I've deleted, redownloaded, and reinstalled this (currently the latest) version a half-dozen times, and my hidden bar still won't stay hidden, on any of my characters (all of which use a hidden bar for character specific keybinds).

I did notice though, that the TOC still lists the version as 22.1... did you forget to update the TOC version, or did you upload the wrong file?

I have my main bars hidden so they don't clutter my visual UI and have a seperate bar for cooldowns.

Often, I want to go and change the actions on my main bars and unhiding them takes longer than it needs to. With Bongos, I could just middle-click the bars in edit mode to unhide them, which was very convenient. Could you please implement middle-clicking the bars to toggle the "Hidden" attribute in bar edit mode?

Macro Buttons and key bindings

I imported my TrinityBars as the first thing I tried with macaroon and it seems my mount selecting macro, doesn't do anything now...

I can't seem to get it to work as a Macaroon macro or as a normal game macro... maybe they changed things and I need to figure out how to make it work again... :'(

Here is the macro.

/use [outdoors, nomounted, modifier:ctrl, flyable ] Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control; [outdoors, nomounted, nomodifier, flyable ] Reins of the Onyx Netherwing Drake; [outdoors, nomounted ] Whistle of the Black War Raptor
/dismount [mounted]

Loved Trinity....couple of enquiries for macaroon...

I have created a arc preset bar that arcs around the top, i have scaled and adjusted padding to my preference, and i have the bar positioned on the bottom of my wow screen.

I save the profile and log off, log on and i find the buttons in that bar have moved up out of the bar itsself...with the top of the buttons comming out over the blue surrounding area....if i then change 'snap to' switch on, off, on, off...the buttons creep back down to where they were..untill log off again.

with trinity there was an option to allow the bar to sit beyond the edge of the screen is there a function in Macarron. This would sove my problem

also how do i delete a bar?

Cheers

Macro Buttons from the Default Macro Creator

At some point, the behavior of Macaroon was changed so that when a macro is dragged from the default macro creator to a Macaroon button, the Macaroon button is changed to an Action Button. This makes sense - it allows the user to edit macros with the default macro creator and have those edits enabled for any button to which that macro was dragged, even across different characters.

However, the Action Button ID assigned is not unique - my tests so far (admittedly brief, given that the patch has only been up a few hours and my server is overcrowded and being restarted frequently) have shown that the Macaroon button duplicated the Action Button ID of a button on my default bars. This causes one of the action buttons to lose the skill or macro I had assigned to it, and duplicate the contents of the Macaroon button to which the macro had been dragged.

Hopefully there is some way to get Macaroon to choose a currently-unassigned Action ID (i.e. one not already resident in a bar). Perhaps if no such unassigned Action ID is available, a message can appear stating that the Macaroon button will not reflect subsequent changes to the macro made in the default macro creator.

Any chance of getting buttons to grow from the bottom instead of the top?

I too am having the issue where it resets my settings if I import my Trinity settings.

It seems to keep settings fine if I set things up myself.

Ran into a bug with the Pet Bar.

I tried to add more buttons for the new pet skills and I couldn't put the new skills in the buttons I added.

Also, I accidently took too many buttons off, losing Pet Passive and Pet Follow, heh and now I'm not sure how to get them back on.

Apology in advance if someone already reported.

Cheers and beers..

I am aware of that :P i have all 3 stances setup..and when i go into edit mode, and set up a new bar..or for anything else for that matter the stancebar will sometimes vanish completely when i leave editing mode.

I'm a long time trinity user. After getting all my bars imported from trinity and setup they are not saving. If I log out and log back in all the bars are gone and I have to re-import them. On top of that after doing the basic import it only shows buttons on the first bar. I have to go into bar edit mode and double click each bar to show the buttons and then move the bars from the center of the screen to their normal position.

I'm browsing my FrameXML logs to try to track down some stuff.

I noticed this:

10/14 23:20:03.680 ** Loading table of contents Interface\AddOns\Macaroon\Macaroon.toc
10/14 23:20:03.680 ++ Loading file Interface\AddOns\Macaroon\Macaroon.xml
10/14 23:20:03.680 Frame MacaroonMinimapButtonEdit: Unknown script element OnFocusGained

Don't know what to make of this, but could it be related to complaints about the minimap button?

Minimap button is not showing for me. Everything else with macaroon seems to be working properly though. Its possible that its related to errors I've been getting via some other addon (generic framexml errors ftl). I haven't been able to get on much to disable things and test. If I'm able to get more info I'll post it.

any chance of being able to have a bar be both paged and changable through stance? It worked on Trinity why not on macaroons?

Yup, I have Vista myself. Make sure the paths are correct -

World of Warcraft \ Interface \ Addons \ Macaroon \ <macaroon files>
Thanks but everything is in the right location but still cant see it.

I guess time to blast the whole game and all folders and start over

Read down a few comments. You want the Macaroon_Xtras addon.
