Always-Hidden State

Is there a way, with Macaroon, to create a bar of buttons which are in an always-hidden state?

I am looking for a state where they cannot be seen, cannot be clicked (i.e. they can be clicked-through to interact with the 3-D environment or even other Macaroon buttons which might be "underneath" them), cannot be dragged out or edited; except when the state is turned off while in edit mode.

This would allow me to set up the equivalent of the TrinityBars2 saved buttons display, but by just using a bunch of Macaroon buttons arranged in a large-ish grid that I could leave smack dab in the center of my screen, but which would be completely unobtrusive and impossible to interact with (except via keybindings) except when in edit mode or when the "hide always" state is turned off.

Using Trinity2 XP Bars on 3.02/PTR

I just tested enabling the Trinity2 addon and the TrinityXP addon. It does work.

When I attempt to right-click the minimap button of Trinity2 to bring up the Main Menu, the Main Menu does not appear and I get the following error:

Error: attempt to call global 'InterfaceOptionsFrame_OpenToFrame' (a nil value)
File: Interface\AddOns\Trinity2\core.lua
Line: 404
Count: 1

It is possible to bring up the Trinity2 Main Menu (to make adjustments or to disable the minimap button, among other things) by using the Interface Options-->Trinity2 route, but when I do so the following errors occur:

Error: attempt to index local 'self' (a number value)
File: Interface\FrameXML\UIPanelTemplates.lua
Line: 315
Count: 2
--------------------------------------------------
Error: attempt to index local 'self' (a nil value)
File: Interface\FrameXML\UIPanelTemplates.lua
Line: 310
Count: 2

The TrinityXP addon is really helpful. I use multiple small bars to track several reputation gains at one time, one for experience, etc. Much better than the default Blizzard bar. While the "old" one works, I do hope you'll port it over to 3.02.

Suggestions:
- There doesn't seem to be a built-in self-cast mechanism. While editing the macro is easy, it'd be nifty if this was a built-in for dragged spells. Editing a dozen macros for buffs is somewhat annoying.
On the list of things to do. Once I get self-cast options in, I plan on having the macro auto-write itself based on those settings when a spell is first dragged to it.
- The relative ease of creating a pet bar was difficult to discover. You might want to consider creating a pet bar by default, especially considering non-pet classes that might not think of having one.
One thing I have planned is adding commands to "/mac add", such as "/mac add 10 pet" and this will make a pet bar. And there would be "/mac add 10 macro" and "/mac add 10 action".
Bug:
- The fifth bar I created had some real difficulty having items (consumables) dragged to it. The item consumed an Action ID instead of a macro. When it consumed the Action ID, the previous thing inhabiting that Action ID popped out and attached itself to my cursor, as if I was replacing it. This was highly unexpected, because the button was blank before switching from macro type to Action ID type. I suspect this is due to the charges thing mentioned in the addon description, but it's still kinda bizarre.
I will check this out. The unexpected spell on the cursor means that the action ID had a spell associated with it, but since the button was set to type macro and had no macro, it was blank. This is something I am aware of and previous efforts to change this behavior did not work.
*edit*

- Action IDs maintain their WoW key binding. If you bind a key to a Macaroon macro, the key is not unbound from the WoW Action ID binding. The keybinding shown on the button is the one assigned by Macaroon, not the one defined by WoW for that Action ID. If WoW Action IDs own a key binding that you assign to a macro at macro binding assignment time, the assignment does not seem to take / the keypress does not trigger the macro button.
Hmm, can you give me specific steps to set this up? The binding API macaroon uses is an override binding system defined by Blizzard. It does not clear other bindings, but is supposed to override anything else. This is how it should work.

JM, Trinity XP and cast bars are seperate addons from Trinity bars. You can just load Trinity2, TrinityXP, and TrinityCastBars without TrinityBars2, so hopefully it wouldn't be causing errors all the time. I haven't tried it myself yet, but supposedly it works fairly well.

Playing around with Macaroon/MacaroonXtras for the first time today on the PTR, I noticed just a few things:
1- I can't find a way to delete a bar once one is created. It is possible, of course, to simply set it to zero buttons and it effectively vanishes... but it's still there.
2- I am missing the Trinity experience bar/rep bar. I read that the T2 versions will work in WoW 3.02, but I am loathe to have all of TrinityBars2 loaded and throwing errors just so I can have that minimod working.
3- Ditto for the Trinity cast bar.
4- Major issue (for me, anyway):
4a- The stored buttons display "squishes" all the buttons so that they are barely visible individually.
4b- The only way I found to put buttons in the stored buttons display is to make a bar, put things into the buttons on that bar, then remove the buttons from that bar. I'd like to be able to create buttons right on the stored buttons display, then keybind them. I love using the stored buttons display for things I want to keybind "naked" without having them on a button bar.
5- The main menu display has several checkboxes that do not have any text (or function?) associated with them. In addition, tooltips explaining each option in detail would be helpful. Tooltips on the button/bar editor would also help. I've been using Trinity a long time, but I imagine that some people would find verbose descriptions of options via toolips very helpful.

Anyway, that's just from a very brief muck-about with the addon. Looks great! I'm eagerly anticipating testing it more thoroughly.
Heya JM

1) I just added the delete option. Currently it is via slash command. Select a bar, and type /mac delete.

2/3) I will be converting the XP/Cast bars to WoW 3.0. I am trying to decide if to make them in their own mini addons, in the Xtras addon or something else. As mini addons, they could be used by themselves, the Xtras addon has Macaroon as a dependency. I welcome any opinions

4) I have yet to really give the stored buttons a good go around yet. I have an idea in mind that I want to implement that I have to figure how I am going to do it. Basically, instead of having all stored buttons lumped into one big group, I was thinking of being able to group them into user-defined groups that can then be "locked", so those hidden buttons would not be "grabbed" out of the buton pool if a new bar/buttons is made.

5) The current main menu is a place holder really, just something to let people toggle options. I have not put much design thought into it. Those blank check boxes are just empty, and may be removed if I find no other need for them. And yes, tooltips and a general fleshing out of the main menu is on the plate.
